Poor Choices:

So I was walking around the other day in my neighborhood and began remembering all the mistakes I made when I first started detailing and figured this might make for a good thread

So here goes nothing:

1- using towels that fell on the floor

2- using clay that fell on the floor

3- using those low quality mfs.

make me feel better, share yours

1 bucket to clean everything

Wiping with just a towel after a week of not washing the car

Dumping the dirty water on the car at the end

Armor All, Turtle Wax, Wal-Mart MF Towels

Never Clayed

Drying with Bath Towel

Etc etc. I'll keep adding as I remember

My mistakes are similar to what some others have posted (cheap towels, Armor All, etc.) but the worst one of all?  Using the foam brush at the coin-operated car wash on my entire vehicle (it pains me to even type that, but shamefully, it's true).  :(

We've all been there...some admit it, some not.

I never washed my wheels or tires. Ever. EVER.

Automatic car washes all the time.

Dried with old bath towels If it got washed by hand. One bucket.

Did not know of detail spray.

Buying my Camaro was the impetus to educate myself. So thankful for the Adam's vids. I have apologized to my daily on more than one occasion for its many years of mistreatment. But I'm making amends now.

Dish soap

Chamois

Dish sponge

Target MF

Running over my hose guides

Not checking the power washer nozzle to make sure it was secured. Came within an inch of hitting my car at full force

Armor All on the dash (glare!) and tires

dish sponge!?

Made me cringe
