Wheel Woolies handle marks on gloss black wheels

GabeErgler

Question

I didn’t realize I was causing a problem till it was already a problem. I have gloss black wheels and use wheel woolies to clean the barrel and such. The handles of the wheel woolly has left small but noticeable marks on the paint and they don’t come off with normal washing. Would you happen to know how to get the marks off the wheel or have some suggestions to try?

Thanks

Gabe

Hi Gabe,

I'm sorry the wheel woolie is giving you issues! Do you have any pictures of the issue that you could email to us? Please post them here or email to tips@adamspolishes.com and we can determine the best troubleshooting steps to move forward.

Thanks,

Dan@Adams

I have noticed that the white lettering on the handle can rub off on the wheel. I ended up scraping off the painted lettering to prevent it from getting rubbed off onto the painted wheel when cleaning the barrels.

If this is what you are seeing, some Revive polish by hand should easily remove the paint transfer from your wheels.

The Wolf, I took a look and noticed the paint is coming off the handles. It could be the problem in part or in whole. I will order up some Revive polish and see what happens.

Any special tips to removing any Revive prior to using the Adams Ceramic Wheel Coating Kit?

Wipe the haze from the Revive polish with a plush microfiber towel, then proceed to cleaning the wheels with the Coating Prep and a clean towel. The Coating Prep will remove the leftover oils from the Revive polish.

Hey Gabe,

Just wondering what worked, if anything.  The same thing has happened to my wheels when I first cleaned the wheels.  Now I am just extra careful.

Gloss black wheels are a B!%&$, I only use a mitt on ours.  I won't touch them with anything I wouldn't put on my black paint.  I used a rupes mini to polish mine out, then ceramic coated them.  They still got all swirled up in a year of careful washing.
