Pay and Spray

dg150

Question

So I'm going to be out of town for over a month. I don't think I can go that long without washing my truck. If I use a pay and spray car wash how much damage will it do to my sealant? I just did a full detail and applied the new paint sealant to my truck. Will the soap at the car wash reduce the life of the sealant?

Yes, the soaps used at the car wash can degrade your sealant.

Just bring your own Adam's Car Wash Shampoo, bucket, and wash pad. Use the Pay-N-Spray on the "Rinse" setting only, do a pre-rinse and fill your bucket, then hand wash just like you would at home. Finish by rinsing using the same "Rinse" setting.

I use the pay and spray exactly how the Wolf said it should be, I bring my two buckets with me and five gloves, I keep changing gloves as I wash the truck to avoid contamination and also learned to wash the truck with one hand and spray with the other at the same time!

I would just do the same thing that Wolf says, and don’t worry if there is a sign that says “no bucket washing”.

I would NEVER use their soap.

Sounds good. Thanks for the advice. I do like how well the soap at the carwash takes everything off the paint without having to touch it but obviously if it's strong enough to take all the dirt and bugs off it will also take the sealant off.

We have a car wash here in the Ames area, that is actually really nice.  If im in a hurry I will use it, or like right now its heavy bug season I will use it.  The guy has put alot of money into a really good system.  It has foam gun style foam for a prewash, and also have a hand held air dryer to blow the jambs and moldings out.  It's best to wash it at home but sometimes hot water really helps.

Some coin-op car wash owners have set up video cameras and alert law enforcement if you hand wash in their bay without letting the timer run. Whether they have an actual case depends on the municipal code.

Fair warning. Ask me how I know.  :D

Lucky my coin wash says no bucket washing when busy!

This is a million dollar idea, especially for winter washing!

Hmmm, this is mighty interesting there Nathan, nice find, I'm almost tempted to get it. We'll see if I catch any flack at my coin wash, I might have to give this a whirl.

This is a miracle for winter washing in Minnesota! I was worried about the cordless at first...but I just watched a review and it seems to be good.
