Question

Hey all,

I have two of Adams Ultra Plush Drying Towel and all I can say is WOW! This towel dries everything! I dries a Ford Expedition with just one towel without ringing it out! Ok now off to my question..

I used this towel on four cars with detail spray on different days and in between I let the towel hang dry. I figured it was time to wash the towel to I pre soaked in warm water and microfiber revitalizer to get the detail

spray off. After soaking I squeezed dry and threw it into a dryer and low heat. Now it seems to be coming apart slightly. I must have done something wrong. I attached two photos of what I mean and this is in multiple locations on the towel.

What is the proper way to clean and dry Adams Ultra Plush Drying Towel?

Thank you all!

That looks like it has been snagged on something..(trim,rough plastic edge). Also,

I'm sure others will chime in but I wash mine after every car I use it on,dry on delicate heat and if its not fully dry, hang it up to finish drying.

I would agree that it looks like snags.

However, you stated that you soaked them in MRB, then wringed them out, then dried them, without actually running them through the wash?

You need to run the towels through a machine wash cycle after soaking them, to make sure they are clean and also to get all the detergent removed from the towel.

It would be virtually impossible to create that many snags on just 4 cars. That type of damage looks like it would come from dragging the towel across asphalt.

Albeit you should have washed the towel before drying, I wouldn't think a $40 towel would start to fall apart that easily, especially since you've only machine dried it once? You should contact Adam's Polishes and see what your options are.

Master af Detailer I did put them through a wash sorry forgot to add that in .

Crazy Sailer I take good care of my towels they have never seen ground and I'm very careful around trim as not to snag any towels.

I have to check inside my dryer if there are any locations it can snag while tumbling but I don't see how it would snag that much . Maybe next time I'll try a different dryer.

I didn't mean you'd actually dragged your towel across the ground lol, more along the lines of that type of damage wouldn't come naturally to a towel like that, while using it for its intended purpose.

With that being said, like you said, best place to start would be what the condition of the inside of your dryer is. Make sure to report back with findings!

Sure looks like snags to me...but:

I had a new style green glass towel with similar, although fewer, imperfections. It happen during the first washer/dryer routine. None of the other (identical towels) did the same thing. I haven't a clue what caused it, but the green glass towel and the new drying towel are very similar construction.

The imperfections doesn't seem to effect the performance of the towel.

I know exactly what this is. I did the same thing with a utility towel by accident lol. I was prepping a sprayed truck bed liner for VRT, so I sprayed APC in a utility towel and wiped, lol that was a bad idea. The sprayed bed is rough.

I hope whomever you sprayed VRT in there bed doesn't fall out and crack there head open. I had a customer do that to me once, not realizing he had VRT'd the sprayed in bed liner, I washed it fell out and cracked my head open, I was out cold for a few too lol.
