Merino wool wash mitt spots?

Does your wash mitt have spots on the inside or has mine setup mold? Mine had some dirt/bugs in the mitt itself that I couldn't get out. So I washed it. I forgot about it and it soured in the washer. Now it smells, and there are black spots on the inside. Or were those spots always there.

I was also wondering if the mitts are washer and dryer safe? It took mine awhile to air dry.

I found that the inside of my mitt was still pretty damp after two days drying. I had to turn it inside out to finish drying. Here's what mine looks like. The bottom looks discolored in the pic, but it is not.

Looks like mine has mold in it. I put mine in the dryer but it was set on fluff. Which has no heat.

You can toss them in the washer on GENTLE cycle. Turn them inside out if your problem is on the inside. Then either hang it up inside out for a while, and then turn it right side out to finish drying. They are dryer safe, on light or no heat.
