Mobile detailing wisdom needed

Hi folks. I've recently started mobile detailing. As I expected things are starting off slow.... I mean very slow. What would be some good ideas to draw in some customers? I've been told by friends and family that my prices are very good. I've thought about having a promotion and Facebook/instagram giveaway just to get my name and work out there. Any advice from this awesome group?

Get some business cards made up and hand them out liberally. Go to various car shows, car clubs etc. Leave stacks of your cards with car dealerships, repair shops, etc. You'll get a couple of jobs from that, then let your reputation be spread by word of mouth. Be patient.

Try to get a website going. The demographic youre looking for is very visual, and if you can get some nice clean cars of your previous work in there, im sure thatll make you stand out.

Im pretty sure its a lot easier to make a website nowadays than it used to. Might be worth the investment.

Start an Instagram and post before and after pictures, people really seem to love those ,you will definitely get a couple of calls from people that like what they see.

Post some cards up in your local coffee shops, I honestly have never used a web site, I get business daily. It's all about friends of friends and word of mouth. Coupons and discount only bring cheap people to the table, you will never see them again and they have the dirtiest cars. Instagram is also a good way to post pictures like Churro boy^^^^ has stated above, it's a great way to get the word out.

Agreed, you don't want to attract cheap people as they tend to have cars in the worst state and only want to pay for the bare minimal but expect a full detail.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Local Facebook groups and word of mouth is how I get most of my customers.

There's an app called Nextdoor which is becoming very popular.  It's a social media app that groups people by neighborhood or subdivision where they can post items that are relevant to their neighbors.  Lots of items about lost dogs, found dogs, zoning, and items for sale.

One of the best features is that there are always a lot of posts about people seeking people to provide services.  I don't know if you can post an ad directly but you might keep an eye on the neighborhoods you're interested in to see if anybody is seeking car detailing.  I've seen a few on ours.  Once your name gets mentioned a few times (for positive reasons) then your reputation will spread.  Good thing is it allows you to target areas near you or desirable to you.

You would hate my card name and phone number and that's it! No need to be gotti I even will let them know if they don't like the work it's free but don't ever come back, I haven't lost one yet!

VistaPrint I think does that business card thing, where it's $10 for 500 its not about idea. Definitely make it nice though, like sleek, some detailer handed me one once and it was okay, and it didn't grab my attention, gotta spend to make
