Mysterious Window Haze

Texas Moe

Question

Wife has noticed a haze on some of her windows over the last 2 weeks.  It's a new car that she's had for a month.

It seems to be only on the front driver and passenger windows.  I've cleaned both interior and exterior windows with Brilliant Glaze twice but it hasn't helped it at all.  At this point, I wonder if it has something to do with the tinting but I'm not sure.

The front windows were tinted? You have to be careful with Brilliant glaze on tint, the solvent in the glaze may act strange with it. How recently were the windows tinted?

Sorry, I wasn't clear.  I didn't tint the front windows myself, I was wondering if the haze might be part of some factory tint.  I used BG on all the windows and didn't see any kind of adverse reaction.

Somehow just noticed the new profile pic, Eric.

First I've read about BG maybe not playing nice with tint. What have you seen happen?

Probably just the materials off gassing.  Give BG a try to remove it.  I did that on our new car, and after 2 months it needs doing again.

This seems like the best possibility so far.  Especially given that the haze was not there when we bought the car.  If it won't clean off with BG, will it eventually go away?

I've also heard warmer temps/humidity can increase the off gassing. Since you're in TX in the summer, that may be a factor right now, too. But BG is an awesome remedy. And it makes the car smell like pina colada for a bit, too!

Thanks man, that was taken at Barrett Jackson Northeast.

I've seen only on older tint or poorly installed tint where the Brilliant Glaze gets under the edge of the tint and releases the glue and it can start peeling. This occured once on a suburban with tint that was almost 10 years old and once again on a Malibu wake boat that someone tinted themselves poorly. I still use it on tint all the time, just use caution around edges.
