GWDT starting to unravel

avimore

Question

Hi folks,

I have a couple of Great White Drying Towels that are starting to unravel from the black satin edges.  This is happening all over the edges of both towels and not isolated to one area.

Is this normal for these towels?  I have only had them for about a year and have been doing the same routine of hand-washing with MFR&B and either air-drying or placing them in the dryer on low heat.  No issues until the last couple of washes.  They are great towels and perform well, but I'm afraid they will only get worse from here.

I have sent an email to Adam's a few days ago but they haven't responded yet so I just wanted to check with you guys to see if anyone else has experienced this also.

Thanks.

I've seen pulls in the middle before, but never on the edges like that

Yeah I've had pulls in the middle happen a couple of times when the towel got caught on an emblem, but the edges is something new to me.

I've seen this, some washing machines cause this kind of damage. I cut them off with a razor and keep them short, towels don't last forever and snags ruin the look lol, I just snagged a new one I almost cried but then I realized it's a towel and moved on lol.

It's a shame when they snag and I've cut them off for now, but you're right, they're not supposed to last forever.

I recently purchased an Ultra Plush Drying Towel which I will be trying for the first time.  If it's as good as everyone says it is, I probably won't be using the GWDT's for much longer!

I have 2 GWDT that I used to use. I picked up the Ultra Plush drying towel 2 pack after hearing and seeing the awesomeness of them. They work wonderfully! I can use 1 with my full size crew can truck after doing a pooling rinse. I have since moved to using the GWDT to dry the glass when I leave the truck wet for Guard and Gloss application. Just so I can keep using them and so I don't "waste" a clean ultra plush just for the glass.

If and when you can I would pick up the Ultra Plush, you won't be disappointed.

Ed the Ultra Plush are great drying towels, I have four of them. When using these towels make sure you do not run them close to your vehicles emblems, because they will snag. Ask me how I know lol.

Do the snags pull out relatively easily like the Great White?

Bam... I didn't pull on these because they were in the middle of the towel, so I just left them dangling showing all there glory lol. I was so upset but I learned real quick to not do that again. Lesson learned, pay attention to the details! Lol
