First usage of a few Adam's Products (Short review)

LSX Maestro

Question

So I bought a few Adams products to get the daily ready for the winter months and I'm very happy with the results.

First, Strip Wash: Worked great, seemed to take any of my old wax and detail sprays off the truck.  All the sealant products applied very smoothly so definitely would say it worked.

Second, Visco clay with Detail Spray: Worked absolutely awesome.  My truck's paint felt pretty smooth, surprisingly, and there wasn't that much on the clay bar.  But after I was done, the paint felt like waxed glass, and I hadn't even added any product yet. I wish you got a little more clay for $20 (just for the clay reload) but it is supposed to last a while.  Other negative was I used a good 3/4 of my Detail Spray (Crew cab, 6' bed truck).  Took off some over spray I had on the windshield and a front wheel.

Third, Liquid Paint Sealant: It applied very easily to my paint, chrome, and glass.  It was about 55 degrees while I was sealing it and I had the truck inside.  I must say, it was an absolute nightmare to remove but I'm blaming that on 95-100% humidity due to consistent rains for the last few days. I had to flip the towel every swipe, ended up using a Double and 2 Singles to get all the sealant off and had to rub quite feverishly. My triceps and forearms took a beating.  Other than being tough to remove due to Humidity, it was a great process.  Went on very easily, leaves the finish very smooth and decently glossy.  I have 10" wide wheels with -24 mm off offset so they have a pretty wide lip to the wheel and I sealed that too, hopefully that keeps them in good condition through the winter (No salt etching).

Fourth, H2O Guard and Gloss: Again, very simple to apply via the dry method.  The borderless gray towels are very soft and did a great job of laying down the H2O and buffing it off.  No issues here.  It added a great amount of slickness to the surface as well as making the paint look even more glossy.  I wouldn't need any more aesthetics than H2O GG can provide on a white daily truck.  I applied it to a door panel while it was raining yesterday and the water "runs" away from the spray just like it does in the videos.  I drove it through rain earlier today before I did the full detail and it was night and day difference in how the rain flew off the panel/window vs the basic Meguiars Cleaner wax I had on the other door.

I think next on the list is some regular Adam's Shampoo and washpads as well as some more Detail Spray and H2O G&G.  Also looking at Glass Cleaner and Sealant.  Next summer I'll be going in for some paint correction products as well as Americana Wax and Brilliant Glaze.

Definitely already addicted to Adam's products.

Can add some pictures of the truck once I get some good ones.

Congrats...you've been assimilated! Great to hear it turned out well. Told ya the HGG works like a champ on white! :)

For additional lubrication for the clay, you might also consider not drying the car before you start. The residual water will help preserve at least some DS.

Looking forward to the pictures!

And yeah I rinsed it after washing and started claying it while it was soaking wet still.

Thanks for the honest review James! Very happy to hear our goods worked our great for you :)

With the Paint Sealant in particular, I like to let it haze up on a panel for around 5-10 minutes minimum before wiping away the residue, as that seems to help let it wipe off more easily for me. I stick to either our Single Soft or Double Soft Towel for wiping it off.

Like Dan mentioned, letting the Paint Sealant sit on the paint for a bit greatly helps with cure time, especially if you live in a higher humidity area.

Also, less is better. You may not even see it spreading on the paint with the applicator, but it's there. A lot of people prefer to apply by machine to get a smooth even layer, but I apply by hand. All preference but the less you apply, the less you'll have to take off.

Yeah I did the whole truck at once so by the time I had gone around it it had definitely been 10 minutes when I started to wipe.  Again I put it on pretty heavy on certain panels and also as mentioned it was 95-100% humidity out.  No fault to Adam's products.  If I had ordered a few more towels I'd have gotten it off a lot faster.  (Ordering more soon).
