I have a 1973 VW Beetle that was repainted about 20 years ago from bare metal. After washing it recently, I noticed there are "waves" of paint that alternate between a nice red and a sort of hazy red. To my untrained eye, it looks like the "swipes" of the painter, but could just as easily be remnants of a detailer I used about 3 years ago. The car has been under a car cover since then, and I'd like to know if it's possible to fix this, or if I need to start saving for a new paint job.
Hopefully this picture shows the problem correctly.
