Swirlkiller getting hot

My new SK gets pretty darn toasty when in use. Is this normal?

 

my Bmw is kicking my butt. The clear is brutally hard. The blue pads barely put a dent in the swirls, and they aren’t that severe. Microfiber pads will be used next time I have a free day. 

 

But if my SK is having issues, I want to get it sent back ASAP, before winter gets here

Well that's the one I done have a good answer for!  But I'm sure others so have some input. And yes, clear on German cars, like BMWs and Audis, is brutal hard.

Well it is Chinese so maybe you got a dud. Mine don’t get too hot, even after prolonged usage. Give Adams a call and keep us updated

I agree, contact Adam's regarding.  I used the swirl killer for hours with a microfiber pad working on my husbands truck and it did not get hot.

How much pressure are u using on your machine?

Not much. Even in free spin with no extra pressure it gets way warmer than my pc ever got

I was looking forward to detailing my BMW > now not so much

Not yet. I want to pull it out again and do a little more monkeying with it to see exactly what gets it hot or not, and maybe get some temp readings. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to figure it out.

Have you already contacted Adams like the other members have suggested? Their customer service is legendary, you should automatically do this if you haven't done so already.
