You absolutely don’t want to wax your car before applying a coating. You want the coating to bond directly to the paint. In fact, you want to wipe your vehicle to be sure it’s clean of any polish residue or anything else. And remember, with coatings prep is EVERYTHING!!! You need to make sure the paint is cleaned with Coating Prep to remove all the polishing oils before applying the coating.
