What to Buy

GT STUNG

Question

Hello everyone, I am completely new to the auto detailing world and looking to get started as I just purchased my first new car that I would properly like to take care besides running it through a car wash once in awhile. So a quick background on the car is that its a new red Kia Stinger and I plan to daily drive it. Storage will be outside in a parking lot 24/7. Ive been watching tons of Adams videos but there are still so many products and tools and im not sure exactly what I need but this is what i want to do. I want to get car shampoo, foam gun and microfiber wash mitt for a regular wash, I want to get the ceramic waterless wash for inbetween sessions and quick clean ups. And I also want to get the ceramic spray, this is where I run into questions on what to buy. I know I need to polish the car before coating as its been sitting on a dealer lot for a while and I can see slight swirl marks, in certain areas. I have access to a machine polisher but since this would be my first time polishing anything I would 100% feel more comfortable just using the hand polisher. So which polish would you recommend I was thinking the orange polishing hex with 1 Step polish but idk. I also know I need to clay the car before doing so I was thinking the fine clay bar. If I were to use a machine polisher what would you recommend for the slight paint correction and minimal risk to damaging the surface.

Also if you can answer how many and what kind of towels would I need to do all this? There are so many different towels I don't know which to use for what purpose.

After everything is said and done I would like to keep the price below $200 and I'm looking to act now with the BOGO going on.

Thanks in advance!

I think your on track with the products your looking to order.  As far as polishing goes I had zero experience with Adams SK.,.but a few yrs back i gave it a shot...with zero minutes on a polisher I achieved pretty neat results.
I have never done a whole car using Revive Hand Polish but i believe  a few members on here have.
Both my cars were in decent shape, but i still had to use the Cp first then finish with the white FP.   Zero swirls/halos!!

I do hear the new one step

pad and polish is pretty good stuff too, just never used it.
As far as towels are concerned, you can never have too many.
I’d say 2-4 single softs for polish removal.  Then maybe 4 borderless grays too, which u can use one for the removal of your Ceramic coating/spray.
I do have a few double softs and of course they are softer than the single. I received those in MB.  I use that to remove ceramic paste wax twice a yr.

I'm an absolute fan of Revive Hand Polish and have done entire vehicles after polishing and without polishing.  Sometimes the garage queens only need the softest of touches to bring out the luster and Revive is ideal for that, in my opinion.   The other place that I make sure every vehicle gets is Revive on the tail lights, regardless of what else I do to the vehicle.  There is something about the way Revive with a blue hand pad if they are very clean or a Orange if they have a little oxidation, and they just sparkle.

I too use Revive Hand Polish once a year to remove minor imperfections on my black SUV. It lives in the garage when it's not being driven and being from Nor Cal I don't deal with too much in the way of road salt or anything harsh. I too use the blue hand pad for the polish but I do also start off with a clay bar as the first step. After the polish it's really up to you as to which route you want to go. I still have so much Adam's Paint Sealant that I'll likely do that again this year but have also been thinking about ceramic. Too many excellent choices :) For maintenance it is just a two bucket wash with a foam gun first. Ever few washes I do the new H2H G&G which adds a bit more pop. The ceramic spray does look like a great way to go also.
