I used two passes of the paint correcting polish and one of the paint finishing polish with the corresponding microfiber pads. I followed that up with one layer each of machine sealant, glaze, and Americana.
My supervisor's wife is returning from Afghanistan soon. So he had me spruce up her ride before she gets home. It is a 2011 Infiniti QX56. The paint had been pretty neglected so far in it's life. But Adam's came to the rescue.
This is a good example of the condition of the whole vehicle.
I completed the process to get it the way it should be using almost every tool that I have in my belt.
All is well now though and it is a thing of beauty.
This is the same area as the picture above.
Good luck keeping your rides swirl free up there. I lived in Anchorage for the past 6 years. I almost gave up on detailing because it was so hard to keep up with it. That and the shipping to get products up there was crazy. All that being said I was kind of sad to have to move away.
Nice ride!
Detailed this for a friend while he is on leave. He only takes it through a scratch and swirl car wash on a regular basis. I'm kind of afraid that all my work will go to waste. But I had a good time doing it so I guess it wasn't entirely in vain. I got my new Flex while I was in the middle of polishing so I switched to using it. All I can say about the Flex is: I LOVE this thing. It makes corrections so much easier and faster. Well her are some pics, enjoy.
I actually grew up about 30 min from Meadville, Pa. It's nickname is "The Tool City" because of Channel Lock and all of the other tool and die shops in the area.
I had the opportunity to visit Ground Zero back in April before my deployment. The fence is there to keep people out of the construction site. It's a standard safety practice. There is a building across the street from the site so people can observe the construction. It was a very sobering experience. Made us remember why we do what we do. Here are some pics.
Here is my buddy Maverick. He's a 7 year old Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog. Still acts like he's a puppy though.
And one of him helping my shine up the wife's Flex befor I had to deploy.
