  1. thanks guys, there will be a lot of shots of these 2 cars, build dates are only 27 days apart so they are basically sister cars. Would love to get a cyclo to both cars but that will have to wait I'm afraid. Mine has a stripe kit and window tint to go on yet and tweetys tint was done last week. Will have to go cruising again soon though my mum said that both cars looked and sounded awesome at full noise heading down the street
  2. Hi guys Well it finally happened, my best mate in all the world bought himself a new car. My friend is one of those guys that helps everyone else out and often forgets himself, he has had his fair share of struggles and issues but when it comes to the crunch he has always been there for me. A few weeks ago he came down so i could give his old skyline some adams love and i managed to take him for a hit in the ST and he fell in love. We talked for a week about him maybe buying a second hand XR5 and then the next week he sends me a pic of him hugging his brand new Focus ST. It tore me up a bit as in my eyes he is one of few people that deserve nice things and i couldn't be happier for him. Being the guys we are we immediately starting making plans to get some Adams on "tweety". Living about an hours drive apart we don't get to spend a lot of time together so we made plans that the next weekend we would meet up for some shine time He met me as i was arriving in town and we cruised together through our home town and managed to get a park together for a quick pic. What did we do? I looked over the car very closely and the paint was in really really good condition. So a clay seal and wax was all that we needed. After march next year both of our cars will get a cycle polish (my b'day present to myself) Strip wash with APC and Shampoo Clay bar Standard shampoo Detail Spray Seal (quick sealant) Wax (americana) VRT on all rubbers and wheels Interior Detailer on the inside. Our main goal was just to get some protection on the paint and make it shine. We have all seen progress pics so ill just post up some final shots. The first shot "beast" (my car) hadn't been washed yet and after by weekly washes and over 120 kilometre drive it was still shining. Some completed shots, i just did a maintenance wash on mine. We branded "tweety" and i sent him on his way. Luckily he won the adams comp on the australian Facebook page so he will have a little bit of adams gear to see him through for a few washes at least but all in all a great day and i was so proud to see both cars looking so good. Can you tell i love these cars Damo
  3. i second this idea now get crackin I detailed my interior today and the wife jumped in the car almost drooled
  4. damn you americans and your fancy basements An old fridge might be the ticket though. My father and i both used to work for a commercial refrigerator manufacturer i might see if he has anything left.
  5. Hi guys just quick one. I have a spare fridge sitting in my shed and it gets damn hot in there, happens i store my adams gear in the same shed. Im very concerned about how hot it gets in there. Can i put all my adams gear in the fridge to keep the temp at a constant level? Thanks in advance. Damo

    GTA V

been playing this for a while now just trying to finish out 100% then BAM got into a closed beta. GTA V is awesome fun. Saw a video today of a guy cheat spawning massive amounts of cars then blowing them up might have to try that soon
  7. when your sitting at your dead end job trying to think of ways to get out of work to detail your car
  8. if i do rebuild it i will remove the rear windows and weld them up i never liked the windows.
  9. Ok guys a number of years ago my father had the bright idea of the 2 of us rebuilding a car together. We both worked full time so we had very little time but after 4 years we finally did it. We started out with a 1976 Mach 2 ford escort panel van. For those of you guys that don’t know what the hell that is. This van started out as a sunburst yellow 1.3 litre automatic. It was rusty, dirty and not held together very well. It was a mess. When we finally got it back to his place the gearbox actually fell out and got hung up the driveway lip leading into the garage. The first year was tear down. Being only able to work on it on Sundays was murder we would get a few things done then the day would be over. I don’t even want to remember how many snapped bolts we found and had to get out. After the teardown we decided to go a bigger 2 litre engine, so we grabbed one out of the older car we had there rebuilt it and got a 4 speed manual and threw that on it. We stripped all the paint and began the process of rust repair . Anyway to cut a long story short after we got it rebuilt repainted and on the road I enjoyed it for about 12 months then it developed a number of ignition issues and it got to a point that I just didn’t want to fix it anymore, so in the end it was towed back to my dads and put in the shed. That was back in 2008. Now its 2013 and my van is still in the shed collecting dust and my father has asked me what I would like to do with it. I had the thought of selling it but the look on my dads face when I said it spoke volumes he looked as if I was cutting his throat. I guess it means more to him than I thought. This leaves me in a bit of a quandary. For the last few years I have been wanting to buy myself a GTR Skyline but my wallet has not been willing to part with the 40 odd grand it would cost. On the other hand I wouldn’t mind rebuilding it again but with a few extras. I have never liked the roof on the van so if I was to keep it and rebuild it I would have to take it somewhere to get some serious modification done to it. I have seen a few guys here is Australia put Nissan SR20 motors in them and that to me sounds awesome. A full rebuild with a chopped top SR20 new gearbox new paint would be something to behold or just leave it there to slowly decay, I just don’t know what to do. As car guys I know most of you will have many different ideas an opinions. So what would you guys do if in my position. Please help guys I don’t want to loose anymore sleep over this. Cheers Damo
  10. since 2007 iPhones have been the only phones i have used. i have had every one except the 3g
  11. Even though im in Australia i cant say enough for these little rockets. Awesome to drive and handle really well. My only complaint is the turning circle it is a little bigger than the Toyota Rukus i had before.
  12. Hi guys i was just wondering how often you wax? I do a lot of travelling in my car and i try to wash at least once a week to keep it shining. My problem is am i washing off the wax bit by bit? and should i be waxing say every 6 or so washes? Keep it clean Damo
  13. well it hasnt rained since i did my first detail and today we where stoked to see the clouds open up for some much needed rain here nek minnut water bead
  14. thats looks awesome The TS is a beautiful colour.
  15. Eagerly awaiting your next thread your so detailed in your threads and i pick up all sorts of tips. Got my first maintenance wash in on the weekend. Man it was easy almost didn't have to wipe the car off the water bead was amazing. I need something better than my air compressor to blow it off though. I would love a blaster sidekick but i cant seem to find anything remotely like it here in Australia though.
  16. The same thing happened to me this afternoon coming home from work. Pulled up to get a drink and there is a guy scrubbing down a near new BMW M5 one rag for the whole car. He had just come out of one of those all in 1 car wash deals. Same rag for rims and everything. Even when I didn't know about proper care I never did that.
  17. before i got my gear every few days i would re-read that thread for the wow factor.
  18. Totally agree. I was speaking from working in a service type of role. Where i am i have to justify my time all the time. Even though my pay rate is decent for the job im in i have to show the boss the work i can get done in an average day. im facing the same problem though i have had a few people ask me since monday if i was interested in doing some cash jobs and there is no way i can ask them for what i am payed. I think i would get laughed at. Its up to you in truth. Ask yourself what is your time worth to you? as long as you can replace your product and make a little on the side you should be right.
  19. if its any indication. I took time on my car and i was at it 10 hours. I am payed $26 an hour at work so that is what i would be charging. I used around $90 worth of product add on an extra hour for cleaning all your gear and you should be sweet. For me because i work in the service industry i would be charging a service call as well. Within 15 miles a flat rate probably about $10 or 15 dollars. I only speak because recently at work we have revamped our charge rates and stock pricing. If i can think of anymore ill edit later time to jet its an hour drive home
  20. if you can ask the car yard NOT to do anything to the car you want all the plastic on the car and seats. My biggest mistake was letting them "detail" the car before i got it. When the car yard did my car i was almost crying. Grubby paw prints all over it. Took me a whole weekend to get it clean. That was before i even knew what Adams was.
  21. Wow thanks mate The wife has screamed NO many times but i think ill win in the end. Im not the smallest of people and my first reaction was the same. My father though first time he jumped in was "WHAT IS RAPPING ME" he isnt a small bloke either. Lol thanks mate its all your fault though. Without your thread on the ST forums i wouldn't have even looked at Adams so a massive thank you. My first choice was white but when i saw the blue i was the same i couldn't let it sit there.
