With the beginning of covid etc going on back then, it probably got looked over, but like life, it goes on. I can remember the days when Adams sold ONLY American made products, Dylan was around, Sever Swirl Remover used to blow dust all over everything, etc etc. My how times change.

I'll take the other side of all the "helping" advice given to you by people way more professional in their craft than yourself. First and foremost, with only 3 messages on the forum, you come off pretty harsh ! Maybe you should find out how we can help instead of talking s**t. I am sure you are mad but TAKE MY ADVICE it can be taken care of.
Did you strip wash your vehicle, clay EVERYTHING including windows, 2 step paint correction? Ceramic prep wipe down should only take one wipe down if done correctly. You have to take your time doing all the prep work and even longer applying the coating. My guess, you worked to fast, just by looking at the high spot you left on your quarter panel, you should have caught that, fixed it, and then moved on. Bad towels, my guess, is the next issue. What are they and where are they from ? Streaks everywhere as mentioned? That means you worked to fast, or your towels (hoped you used suede towels) are not picking up all the ceramic, thats where streaks come from. Have you ever ceramic coated anything before? How many cars have you buffed with a high quality machine? Answer all the questions asked above, so we can help instead of coming off as a ....! Another hint, TAKE MY ADVICE, don't ever let a car dealer detail your car !! Seriously, that's where bad detailing advice starts.
Worse case, buff it all off and start from scratch.

Start with a good bath. Try claying some of the paint and see how far it takes you. Simple wax etc will make it look way better, machine polishing is possible but only if you have done it before ! Original is not original when you buff through the paint !!

Just like Rich said, polishing is the best step. Removing scratches will bring out the best in your paint. Polishing by hand is ok, but perfection only comes with a machine.

First of all welcome, second ditch the Meg stuff and upgrade yourself to Adams paint correcting products ! They will work faster, easier and produce better results in the end, As far as one stage paint, be careful ! Its a one shot deal and with older cars like that there's no turning back if you screw up. Go slow, be careful on corners and take your time, chances are the paint on the car is older than you. Here's some pics of some one stage paint corrections using ADAMS products. So start with an order to Adams on paint correcting products, get some Brilliant Glaze and Americana Wax, and have at it !

Why are you using the rotary ? You should be able to eliminate the scratches without that step, really no need for it. Not sure what your using for a machine to remove scratches but here is some pics using a Flex 3401 without the use of any rotary buffer, using Adams compounds.

First of all welcome. Have no fear, Adams is here ! Do your self a favor and stay away from Megs. stuff, 105/205 outdated. Get a bottle of Adams Blue and White compunds, 4 Adams single soft towels,4 Adams polishing pads, and relax. Start slow and take your time. Shouldn't take you to long to correct your issue, just be careful, but have fun. Your porter cable will not burn through clearcoat but still be gentle. That machine will take longer but should work for you. Post some before pics. Here are a couple pics done with a porter cable machine, so here is what can be accomplished. Good luck.

Do not use a da if have not wet sanded before. By hand in my opinion lets you "feel" the paint (clearcoat) better and when you get used to the feel you know how far to go or not. DEFINETLEY practice on a hood, quarter panel, etc. which you can get from any body shop or junk yard. If you look at the first pic and see the orange peel in the paint, the second pic you can see it fading away and the light has more of a straight look to it, so you know you're getting close.  Again, a one-shot deal and no turning back once you started. It took me 30 or so hours to completely wet sand, buff, etc to get my car perfect. People told me I was crazy to do it till they saw the end result. The car has no orange peel or scratches for that matter and that's the way its staying!!

To take a slightly different approach - consider polishing a test panel, see how it looks; compound and re-polish if necessary. You might like what you see enough to avoid or postpone the wet sanding for now. Orange peel isn't pretty to look at, but it hides a ton of minor day to day flaws. A good polish, working on your technique, maybe adding a small polisher for nooks and crannies to go with your large one - these might be a good first approach to the car. The Adam's 3" Swirl Killer (12mm Mini) has been a great addition for me in this regard.

Jimmy's Shelby looks spectacular, and also reflect a good deal of experience. If nothing else, I'd recommend getting some scrap body panels from a salvage yard to practice on.

@07stanggt provided some good visuals to see the impact and solid information.  As for getting a gauge, the answer is a resounding yes.  If you are doing detailing and using a polisher, you should have a paint thickness gauge.  They are not very expense and can prevent you from taking on jobs that you'd be better off not taking on.

Do you have a paint thickness gauge? Thats a good place to start especially on a car that has been painted previously. As mentioned, go slow, test spot, buff it out, and see where you land. To much and your up the creek without a paddle ! 1000,1500,2000,2500 and smooth out with 3-5000 and a lot of water, tape, and patience!! Here are some pics of my 2013 Shelby I did. Scary beginning but stunning results.

Interesting to hear all the problems coating a car. PREP WORK, its all in the prep work and taking time to do it ! To much coating on the applicator will leave a high spot on the last stroke of your applicator, I go over it 3 times, once across, once up and down, one more time across again, smooths out all of the coating. Do small areas, slow down, no way to have high spots if you check your work before moving on to the next spot (2x2 at the most )-not panel-small areas at a time ! Use the UV light to see where you stopped, or missed. I find it very easy to use if you take your time. Bring your car to me and I'll do it for you !! LOL

With stupid cold temps over here outside, it was time to get going on my summer rims. They are on my daily driver F250 so they do get a little beat over the summer months. I used Adam's metal polish with mothers power ball, and a drill. Used Adams coating prep and finished them off with Adams Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating. About an hour per rim. Came out great! Here are some before, during, and after pics.
