  1. This car was bought as a gift from a husband to his wife back in January. She loved the car so much that she decided she was always going to keep it clean...by periodically taking it through an automatic car wash.....doh! So now she's getting surprised AGAIN by having her car fully detailed by yours truly while out of town for a few days. Needless to say it will never again see the inside of a wash tunnel Featured Adam's Products: Adam's APC Adam's Super VRT Car didn't show up until late, so night wash it is! Final result on interior: Wheel faces & barrels were cleaned up & coated. Tires were done with Adam's Super VRT: The rest of these are post-correction shots. All correction work was done with the Rupes System: Thanks for looking!
  2. I did not use DWC for this - I use another brand. Acceptable measurements are anywhere above ~100 uM. Anything below that I would not compound too much - just a pass with a medium polish and maybe another pass with a finishing polish depending on the color of the car and how hard the paint is.
  3. Featured Adam's Products: Adam's Super VRT Adam's APC BEFORE Ugly "V6T" badges were removed at the dealership and replaced with "Supercharged" badging...they left behind some adhesive in the process: More lazy dealer prep work: Tips need some love: Interior showed signs of use, but nothing too horrible: Audi wheels...they need no introduction: POOP! Decon'ing the paint and making the neighborhood smell like a fart: Paint measurements taken. This was the thickest reading I found. Thinnest was 57 uM! AFTER Interior cleaned up: Exhaust tips cleaned up: Wheels looking respectable again: Adhesive residue removed safely: Naturally, the sun decided to cloud over right before I took these. Thanks Mother Nature: Thanks for looking!
  4. Not local, but Jeff and I are certified on the same coating products so I am familiar with his expertise and work.
  5. SHOULD being the operative word - but when "they" are a fast talking service manager and more than likely non-English speaking laborers, you're not going to get a whole lot of "should". Sucks to learn a $400 lesson, but such is life. Ryan, I would still personally book an appointment with Jeff - he's insanely good at what he does and it's worth the wait!
  6. If it's pH neutral, which DWC is, the sealant won't get stripped.
  7. They don't - but they're fast as hell and I think are much better suited for those who are detailing for $$ because of that time savings. I knocked out an SUV this afternoon inside of 20 minutes (write-up coming soon!). And if you combine them with a chemical decontamination like Iron-X, their performance vs. clay evens out.
  8. Coatings are good stuff - use them on almost every detail I do. Makes everything a lot easier to clean.
  9. Just for the paint maybe 10-15 minutes - leave the soap on there until you're ready to rinse the whole car. You can add a bit of Rinseless Wash into your mix for some extra water softening, too!
  10. Looks great! I'm tired of pollen, too: I show up to work in a white car but leave in a fuzzy yellow one...
  11. I did my friend's Maxima last fall and it corrected fairly easily though I wasn't using Adam's stuff so your mileage may vary.
  12. If a Cyclo isn't in your budget, neither is the Flex or Rupes. PC/GG/UDM it is...
  13. The best polisher also depends on what your budget is. If you only have like $150 to spend, your best polisher can really only be a PC/GG/UDM. The GG is the most powerful of the three. Rupes polishers are awesome but work best when used as a complete system: polisher, pads, & gels. It's a great tool even if you don't utilize the complete system but using it with other compounds & pads isn't 100% ideal. I use the complete system exclusively now and haven't looked back: I love my 15 & 75E! I got a chance to see the Cyclo at Thompson Racing this weekend and It was much smaller and lighter than I thought (not to mention built like a tank), but if you're doing this profesionally I would look elsewhere as its heavy correction power is limited. Would be fine for 99% of enthusiasts, however since it's safe, comfy to use, and gets the job done nicely. The Flex PE14 & Festool Shinex are the best rotaries in the business - they're almost identical except the Festool is a pound lighter, a little quieter, and is fully constructed in Germany. I own both and they're great! The Rotex is not ideal as a car polisher although some companies, like Swissvax, are rebranding and selling it as one - hell of a sander though. The 3401 VRG is really nice but you're somewhat limited on pad sizing (even with the backing plate kit). I know the China buyout miffed some folks, but it's not hard to find a pre-buyout one for sale if that matters to you. I used a 3401 for a while and I liked its correction power but always thought it was a little too ungainly because of its weight and the way it rotates - but that just my personal experience with it. Budget: PC/GG/UDM Newbie-Proof: Cyclo & PC/GG/UDM Comfort: Rupes System & Cyclo Correction Power: Festool Shinex/Flex PE14 & Rupes System Middle of the Road: Flex 3401
