  1. By now you've probably watched (or heard of) Volvo's "Epic Split" commercial featuring Jean-Claude van Damme on YouTube (now with over 61 million views). Not to be outdone, Chuck Norris has his very own take on it.
  2. Mount Chephren and Waterfowl Lake seen from the Icefield Parkway
  3. I have some questions regarding these plastic hub caps: 1) Will machine polishing with a DA ruin the concentric ring pattern? (The surface feels smooth so the rings aren't deep--perhaps a few thousandths of an inch.) 2) Which polish (or polishes) / pad combos should be used? (I'm wondering if there is a polish specifically made for plastic like this?) Thanks for your help.
  4. Are you referring to the lance of the pressure washer, or the Gilmor? How about making a fixture to hold "it", and attach the fixture to one of the buckets? For the lance it could be as simple as a section of PVC pipe. For the Gilmor, a right-angle galvanized plate with a slot cut into it (e.g. a Simpson brand metal tie from a home improvement store).
  5. Is it "hard water?" I ask because "In domestic settings, hard water is often indicated by a lack of suds formation when soap is agitated in water, ..." (Hopefully it's not heavy water!)
  6. A friend's wife got him a tool chest so he gave me his 30 year old, all metal, wrinkle finish paint toolbox with Hawaiian-rust hardware. I'd like to restore the wrinkle paint to its former shine; can this be polished? If not then should I apply a sealant and/or wax to make it shine? (Some of the paint's former glory is visible on the areas under the hasp, and where the lock was.) Zoom-in to see the wrinkle finish. While I like the patina and am willing to keep the hardware as-is, what are some ways to address this particular rust removal (or at least reduce it)?
  7. With a detail like this, I'm sure he's no longer having buyer's remorse for not buying the G63 AMG 6x6 instead.
  8. However the entire cabin was permeated with the faint aroma of baked goods.
  9. How effective do you think a consumer-grade (or perhaps a pro-sumer grade) air purifier inside the closed cabin for some period of time would be? (E.g. the HEPA air purifier in my office also has UV and an ionizer--I wonder how effective it would be for this application?)
  10. Does this mean I can put the football away now?
  11. Maybe the tube in the Hand Sprayer will fit the 95HG also. (Wait and see before ordering the replacement part? Even though it's a $2 part, S&H is gonna be a lot more, so no sense in wasting money if it turns out it wasn't needed.)
  12. That's a good reference! Jeep has some impressive MPG ratings: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymake/Jeep2014.shtml Surprisingly some of their gas engines are comparable with their diesel (e.g., 28 vs. 30 MPG)
  13. I simply followed the link from the Gilmour site to the replacement part for "95HG24 Siphon Tube for HG Poly Head" -- since you have a model 95HG. (It's 8.75" vs. 6.25" for the 95QG.) It's better if it's too long (at least that's what I've been told).
  14. I recommend a used Honda, Toyota, or BMW X3. Used for obvious reasons. (Get a "certified" one if you're hesitant about buying used.) And their reliability is very high. ETA: Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon, MPG be damned!
