Adams Polishes to use!
USCGRetiredJosh replied to Jrosacker's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
I think you might have gotten snookered on Craigslist. All those products are old and depending how long that person had them, the shelf life of the product might have expired. You might be able to get some use out of the products, but the product might not be as effective, due to the age of them. -
Strip wash soap questions
USCGRetiredJosh replied to USCGRetiredJosh's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
Thank you Chris -
Does strip wash also strip off VRT, In and Out, and Tire Shine? Why not just use APC like must people used before Strip wash came out? Thanks Josh

Considering a second polisher
USCGRetiredJosh replied to shane@detailedreflections's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
I have the Cyclo also, and I got a Rupes mini also, I use the mini for areas the Cyclo can't get and the spots where deeper scratches are at. Plus it uses the same pads. I'm glad I went that route. Yes I want want a Bigfoot 15 but having the less vibration and using the same pads was such an easy choice for me. -
I have nearly half a gallon of glass cleaner to get rid of, not interested in shipping because it will be about 15 bucks to ship. I live in PA 19348 and work in DE 19720 at the airport. I use to have a pour spout where the cap was so I put a screw in the air hole and put some metal tape over it to keep it from leaking, since I don't use it. Ill trade but not interested in: Butter Wax Brillant Glaze Guard & Gloss

Thanks for the info everyone, I haven't gotten one yet. This is more a "want" than a need but if I have one I would use it a little bit. For my oil changes I have the quick oil drain valve on 2 of the 3 vehicles.

I have a third of a gallon left over just sitting on my shelf, I'll probably never use again.

I have had problems with streaking on my windows before the new glass towels. I had Adam's glass cleaner and the blue towels. I got 2 of the new towels when they first came out, and I still had issues. So I decided to go back to the "invisible" glass cleaner product I use to use. I tried it with the green towels and I am much happier, no streaks or cleaning my windows every couple of days.

So my son got his first car yesterday, a 2002 VW Passat V6 AWD, and I'm itching to go to town on this vehicle. So i decided to test one wheel with wheel cleaner. I did a little scrubbing but nothing crazy. I also did the wheel twice. We will take the wheels off this weekend and my son will be doing some rim cleaning training.....

For those of you that like to measure your shampoo before putting it into the bucket, I will share what I do. I took a spare empty bottle and added the tape. Pour in 2oz's of water add the cap and turn bottle over like you would to add shampoo to your bucket. Make your mark on the tape. I repeated that step several times, then I measured the distance between each mark. Then I measure the rest of the marks out onto the tape, so I didn't have to keep adding water overtime. Then I transferred the tape to my car shampoo bottle, making sure to put it on the same spot as the empty bottle. DO NOT use the label as a guide on where to put the tape, each label is not put on the same spot for each bottle. If you look at my bottle my tape starts at the bottom of the neck for the cap. Now, when you go to add shampoo to your bucket, turn bottle over and you will have an idea of how much you are putting by squeezing and then letting go.

Adam's Foam gun w/pressure washer video
USCGRetiredJosh posted a question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
I'm looking for a video of the Adams foam gun being used by a pressure washer. Can anyone help me find one. Thanks Josh -
I saw do it yourself. Use lots of soapy water

My vote is Cyclo and a Rupes mini, they use the same size pads. I use the Rupes mini for the small areas and the Cyclo for the rest. Some people don't think the Cyclo is great but its been around for a long time and is considered one of the first big throw polishers.
-
Not to hijack the thread but I had 2 white pads come apart while using my Cyclo a couple of weeks ago. They where the previous version of the pads. They came undone between the white part and black part. I ended up marring up the paint but able to save it with my Rupes Mini. I just threw the pads away and will order some new ones on my next order.

Every Last drop of product.

A little update: For some reason 2 tries with super glue and five minute epoxy the cap won't stay glued together. So I used good old fashion electrical tape now.
