  1. Can ceramic coat brake calipers or do they get too hot? If so should I use the regular paint ceramic or the wheel ceramic? The surface is painted with a high temp paint. Thanks for any help!
  2. Do not go with a Stormproof, it'll freeze to your paint. The only cover that will not freeze is Weathershield. All of the big companies will sell it.
  3. Thanks for the responses. Does Patriot Wax repel dirt like Ceramic Paste does?
  4. I just got a container of Patriot Paste wax in my latest mystery box. Since it is SiO2 infused, will it work just as well as the traditional Ceramic Paste wax since I've already ceramic coated my car?
  5. I have a brand new unused Patriot Wax and a gallon of detail spray that I'm looking to trade for ceramics. Specifically, I'm looking for ceramic paste, waterless wash, and boost. Both the wax and detail spray are brand new and un used. I got them in a mystery box and can't really use them because I'm already ceramic coated.
  6. I polished and ceramic coated my car with Adams products a couple of months ago and it looked perfect when it was done. I park it outside and after a couple of months of exposure to the elements and spraying it down with waterless wash every day (I don’t have access to wash my car where I live) there are some light scratches and halos. Has anyone experienced this? Would the sprayable compound work to polish the ceramic coating and remove those without removing the coating? Would a top coat of one of the ceramic waxes help hide it?
  7. Thanks everyone, I appreciate all of the feedback. Guess I'll save the detail spray for the next time I clay my wife's car and just use the waterless wash in it's place for quick touchups. One more question. I was told that the ceramic waterless wash can lead to an excess build up of ceramics (?) and not to use it too frequently. I have to park my car outside and have been using detail spray to keep my car looking as clean as possible at least once a day. Will that be an issue if I switch over to ceramic waterless wash with the same frequency?
  8. Hey everyone, I used to detail cars in college and used Adams products pretty much exclusively. After college I got out of it and didn’t really have a fun car that I cared about taking care of but I’ve just now finally picked up something fun so now I’m back. I polished out my car and ceramic coated it with Adams products. I used to use gallons of detail spray but now I find that it streaks on the ceramic coating. Is this something that other people have experienced too?
  9. Good choice . You're probably going to have go over it a few times with the Swirl and Haze Remover and the Orange pad. Then finish with the Fine Machine Polish and Machine Super wax like you plan. wait for at least 12 hours before you apply the Buttery Wax though as you might get some light hazing that you would need to wipe off from the curing of the Machine Super Wax. Other than that you're looking good. Just make sure to work slow and in small areas at a time and you're golden
  10. If anyone in the San Fernando Valley/ Greater LA area is looking for detailing supplies be sure to check out Bruce Papp (b_pappy on the forums). I am completely floored at the level of service that Bruce continues to provide me with and it is a pleasure to do business with him and his lovely wife Tracy every time. I'm currently trying to start up a side business detailing cars and not only has he helped me out with great pricing and product recommendations but he has even gone so far as to refer business to me. So for that, Bruce, I thank you. You have not only proven yourself to be an asset to the Adams team but you have grown to be a good friend. Teena and I will have to hook up with you two for dinner some time in the next few weeks
  11. Thanks for the suggestion, Bruce. I'll think about that. This was kind of a spur of the moment thing so I haven't really thought about the next step but I wouldn't be against having someone else pull some lines on it
  12. Thanks, I was really happy with how it turned out. This was actually a collaboration of 2 pinstripers and took about 3 hours.
  13. Alright, sorry for the delay but here are the pics. THey turned out rather....um....shiny. Keep in mind that there is no wax on the tail gate but it has been buffed out with SHR and FMP
  14. You're right, I was just talking about hand application of wax . I was just wondering if there may be anything about the wax that could effect the pinstriping in a negative way. I just wasn't sure since it's a single stage above the truck's clear coat Thanks for your input!
  15. Thanks for the reply Bruce, I kind of assumed that it wouldn't be too complicated but I just wanted to make sure. It is a design so it will be a little more difficult but shouldn't be bad. I totally forgot that your Elky was striped, I should have asked you first Pics to come shortly
  16. Hey guys, been awhile since I posted; been gone on a family vacation . While I was away, my wife and I hit up a car show in Sacramento called Midnight Mass. It was a sweet show with all kinds of old style hot rods and pinstriping. While we were there we got a great deal on having the tail gate of my wife's Avalanche pinstriped. It turned out great but the artist wasn't sure about how to wax over it. He said spray on wax only but I'd really like to use something with a little more shine. I typically use APW and it makes the truck look perfect. Anyone have any experience with this? He didn't do anything out of the norm, just 1 Shot applied with a Mack 00 over the truck's existing clear coat. I'll post some pics of it when I get home from work Thanks everyone!
  17. I have heard of some people taping off the clear bra so that you don't fray it out and then hand polish the bra. Adam's makes a polish specifically for this that I hear works well. Other than that take your time, watch Junkman's videos, make sure to apply some pressure but not too much (Junkman has a great way to help you with this in his videos), and don't use too much polish. Other than that your golden, have fun
  18. Thanks! Yeah, the WRX really did come out looking great for how many paint chips it has. The metallic flake in it is amazing! I'm going to play with my camera this weekend and get some better pics
  19. Yeah, actually I'm going to go at the head lights and the tail lights with the 4" pads, some SHR, and MSP this weekend
  20. I have a 2002 Avalanche with the gray cladding. I just wash the vehicle and then apply the VRT after the wash. It works great!
  21. Adam said something at the detail clinic about the BSG having a shelf life of about a year and that the gallons didn't get used fast enough when they sold them
