  2. I managed a, 11.35 @ 138.5 on an easy launch to keep the stock drivetrain together on my first time out to the track.
  3. That be cool, I like idea, what sort of accents where you thinking?
  4. sure thing I snapped these last night: Some earlier pics Video in action [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fY92R4lcYE&feature=player_detailpage]Racing Preview Corvette C6 900hp supercharged - YouTube[/ame]
  5. Just did a detail of SHR, FMP, MSW, BSG and 2x of my new Americana. I like the Americana, easy on and off and gives the paint a warm glow:
  6. I find I get more hazing if I work the product too long or use excess pressure. One pass and the weight of the polisher is enough to apply the sealant and avoids any complications
  7. I check out the cars section on pintrest and use that for ideas
  8. i find that the orange pad scratches up my paint as well, i use the white pad for a coat of SHR followed by MP, wipe off, MP, wipe off, MSW, wipe off, butter - should fix it, the problem is not you but the orange pad's agressiveness is scratching your surface. for SHR and MP go uo to 6k and hard pressure, for MSW only 2k and light pressure. go slow the SHR should take 45 minutes to put on
  9. hey thats me! you posted while i was typing, i got my info from a member sdoweny or something he made a thread about installing a z06 grill into a c6 coupe
  10. as far as i know the only way for the grill to come out is to pull the bumper... its really not hard, i just did it now to install some new stuff. so what i did was turn the wheels to the right, on the drivers side pop out push pins on the inner fender until you can sneak your hand in. feel around and you will find two bolts bewteen the bumper/ fender right above the side marker, remove these two, while you're un remove your side markers and unplug your fog lights. repeat on the passanger side. now you will be removing 2 tiny bolt head screws from under the car, there are like 7 under neither but the other 5 are to hold the air diverter in place, taking these out is a waste of time, you will have 2 more bolts (same size as the ones by the side marker) to remove where the center diverter meets the two side peices under the car, this is also where the bolt head screws are. finally if you look underneither where the opening to the radiator is you will see 2 christmas tree pins that are connecting the frame to the bumper, there are 4 and they get removed. now that the bottom is completely free all you need to do is release the top, 4 more bolt head screws in the middle right by the hood, now you lift up the top peice (but blue tape all over the bumper above the emblem so it doesnt get scratched by the hood, you wll notice the top is still secure, it has 2 tabs on each side by the head lights, one has to be somewhat pryed (in the direction you just removed the screws) and the other (closest to the headlight) is a push lock, just pull straight out. you're bumper is now off! just take your time, if you take 4 hours no biggy i think i took that long my first time
  11. Hey Adam who will be attending bloomington gold then?
  12. you know i dont think i can, im planning on BG tho, ive got some serious work to do before tho
  13. i agree, what makes IOS, or undercarriage spray flammable are the solvents that they are suspended in... once those evaporate your good, that being said you need to leave your hood open after using the stuff, i do the engine dressing at the end of detailing and leave the hood open (no hood light to drain battery) and let the cloud of solvents get out, ive been doing this for a year with no issues, if you will sleep better at night you can wipe is off the exhaust manifolds. only three situations could cause a problem, 1) spraying on an open flame... 2) spraying on an extremely hot surface like an exhaust manifold could flash ignite the solvents and finally 3) spraying your engine down then closing the hood, the solvents will collect and you will be accomplishing the same thing as a spud gun
  14. wrapping up finals, ive taken 2 finals 3 lab exams and an MCAT, just two more finals until car is all detailed for when i get home saturday at 11!
  15. Thanks JM! I actually just got out of the garage, i layed down a piece of tape and butter waxed one side, i worked it until it became clear, pulled the tape... mmm blacker so i went ahead and did the whole car, i dont usually swear but i said "S!*% thats shiny" when i wiped it away, im very excited it looks crazy even under flusescents. i have some tips/ lesson ive learned through the past couple of weeks (broke down a mega detail into 4 smaller sessions) - pressure, pressure, pressure, if you need practice put a weight scale on a counter and press down to see what 30lbs feels like - no crossing products, i figured megs nxt had fillers and could give me extra pop... errrr wrong - IOS is addicting, i started with my valve covers, then my entire engine bay, then i masked off all my trim and sprayed those down... its sickness in a can IMO - you will get residue stuck in the gaps between pannels, even if you try to work along the gap as oppose to transversly to it, to remove dried residue you can use a credit card for for the thing gaps, take some blue painted tape, stick it together sticky side to sticky side and use that to scoop out residue well im off to take a final exam, sometime in the summer when i have some time ill make a video showing off the difference each step of the adams process makes

  17. news to me, no i never let it seal. Superdutydt - it is weird, i have an 07 C6, when i first brought it home i noticed a scratch, i used zaino to try and remove and that stuff does nothing in the way of perfecting paint, i switched to adams with SHR REVIVE Butter but ued the orange pad, not enough pressure, poor technique and marred my surface, i was given FMP and MSW to try and they brought back the shine but i always get the cloudiness, ive tried layering NXT over MSW and it takes it out a bit but not completely (probally not good idea to mix the adams and megs but im concerned with using my butter wax as it is over 3 years old now, i will top off my paint with butter on the next go around. at this point im convinced that my efforts are unsuccessful because of my initial screw up, im going to clay my rear deck lid and tape off the surrounding areas, clay it down and repeat with Adams steps to swirl killing, if i see a difference i will be both happy and said, happy due to the shine, sad because ill have ALOT of work to do. ill keep you guys posted, try to take a pic too
  18. hey guys, i stated using adams about 2 years ago, when i first made the switch i used a clay bar and detail spray, went over the car with SHR, revive and butter, it looked good but i used the orange pad which was too strong and it lightly marred my black paint. Adam gave me some advice and sent me a sample of fine machine polish and super wax and using the white/ black pads fixed me right up, ive been reapplying the FMP and MSW every 1-2 months during summer (dont drive during the harsh winters) it is also garage kept year round and rarely gets dirtier that a good dosage of detail can handle. so now i went ahead and spet 6 hours using SHR on white, followed by FMP on white, buffed off, did FMP on white at a lower speed, buffed then MSW, the car does look good outdoors, my doors/ hood (when open) look like mirrors, however when i bring the car into the garage under fluorescent lights its not that pure black any more, should i clar bar the whole thing (passes the plastic bag test) it seems like something is cloudy underneath and my efforts are only locking it in, or is this the nature of fluorescent lights? thanks a bunch for any input
  19. hey there, been a member for a while just haven't posted im afraid this forum will be as addicting as the actual products
