  1. Just got some Americana yesterday! They should make an Americana scented cologne!
  2. Does the BSG or any of Adam's products contain fillers?
  3. Thats what I think...the clear coat was too thin on the whole car. I believe all they were able to do is wax it. The car being re-sprayed had also crossed my mind. Anything I can do to mask these swirls and scratches? or do I just live with it?
  4. So..today I saw the car in the sunlight for the first time and it doesn't look any better! I'm trying to take some pics right now but they are not coming out very well. You can't tell how bad it is in the pics.
  5. I'll try to shoot some photos tomorrow in the sunlight Mr.Bill.
  6. So here's the story from A to Z...I have a 2000 Torch Red Corvette that had what I thought were serious swirl marks. So, I ordered the machine polishing kit from Adam's. I worked and worked on this car trying everyones techniques with only moderate improvement. Even after a phone session in the garage with Adam himself, I was still disappointed. While on the phone with Adam, I described my paint the best I could. He determined that what I had going on was scratches that were too deep in the clear coat for the Orange pad, SHR, and FMP to remove. (His products did performed exactly like they were supposed to, It "annihilated" the swirls!) The scratches I had were way too bad for an at home beginner to get rid of, it needed professional help. At this time, Adam has me on one ear and he's calling his connections, thinking of what to do about my car. In the end he sets me up at a detail shop here in Phoenix, the same shop that gets the cars ready for the Barrett-Jackson, to have it wet-sanded and high speed buffed. I was totally not expecting that! I mean, the scratches on the car were not HIS fault or mine.(Previous owner was clueless on how to properly wash a car, but hid them very well with some "slop" off the shelf at Wal-Mart.) Adam just wanted me to be happy:) I picked up the car yesterday afternoon. The guys there went over the car with me, showing me what they were able and no able to do. Come to find out...my Vette had been wet-sanded before! So they didn't want to sand anymore than they had to. The car still has some scratches, but overall looks so much better and shinier(they used Adam's products.) I just want to thank all the Forum members for their tips and Adam for going above and beyond:bow: Hopefully I told the whole story. If I left anything out be sure to add to it Adam. Now a question....does anyone have a recommendation for masking the remaining scratches?
  7. The GS is OUTRAGEOUS! How can I get one of those Adam's aprons?
  8. Sweet! Hurry up and get to work, I want to see some pics. I've got a black 92 Camry to clean up that looks a little worse than your truck.
  9. I had the same problem. They were not willing to help at all. Their stuff does make a car shiny, but its so much easier to obtain that same shine with Adam's.
  10. You're right Devin, Adam's is so much easier to use. I've still got a lot of Zaino left. I was gonna give it to my parents, but I don't think I could put them through that. Hopefully they will order some Adam's. I might try a comparison too, if I can muster up the effort to apply the Zaino! The PC 7424 and Adam's machine polishes have spoiled me. Let me know who the winner is when your finished.
  11. Yeah, tell me about it! I don't think it ever dries or hazes!
  12. You're right! The man himself is hooking me up fo sho! Thanks again Adam!
  13. I was following the detail sheet from Ashley. It says two dime size squirts of SHR and the same of FMP on the orange pad. Also, in one of Adam's videos he said to apply significant amounts of pressure. I have watched your videos multiple times! Adam called me this morning. About to go out into the garage and do an over-the-phone session!
  14. Yeah, I cranked it all the way up and leaned on it pretty hard.
  15. Thanks for the support. I hope so! It's getting very frustrating! What am I not doing right? What's the average amount of passes to achieve that mirror shine? One section I went over at least 7 times with SHR and FMP on the Orange pad and still had some swirls and scratches,
  16. I got tired of all those steps and wanted to try a machine to get rid of swirls on my 2000 Torch Red Corvette. I've read all these threads about techniques and it's not working for me yet:help: I tried taking some pics last night... they didn't turn out that well. I'll try again. Heading out to the garage to give it another shot.
