  1. Ceramic coat is always better than wax and easier to maintain, but there's really nothing you can do about damage done by car washes. About the best advice I can give you is to put it in your rental contratct that they are not to use any automated car wash or they'll be charged extra.
  2. Yes, humidity plays a big part in performance. The trick is to use it SPARINGLY! A little goes a LONG way. And use TWO towels. I know a lot of guys have issues with streaking that shows up on darker colored cars, but if you think about it, those streaks are on light colored cars too, they're just not that noticable. But the two DRY towels work pretty well. I'm thinking of warming the wipe off towel as I use it. Let it sit in the sun between wipes. Can't hurt.
  3. Man, my fingers, toes and eyes are crossed that the weather is good this year. This summer has sucked on weekends here. Nearly every weekend has only had one dry day, and too many weekends didn't have ANY dry days, so my car's barely been out of the garage. I plan on stealing the wife's scooter some to get around and see everything too. Looking forward to seeing the Adam's crew (the few I still know) and all of you guys there. Drive safe everyone.
  4. Welcome to the forum Chris!
  5. Only 4 more weeks (give or take a few days). Looking forward to seeing old friends that I only see at the show. I'll be in row E space 50, so if you're there, stop and say hey. Hey, Scott and Bob, here's the 2022 map. Notice that the big Top Flight tent is no more. Wonder if they're even going to be there anywhere. Same with any quality vendors aside from Adam's. The show isn't what it used to be, but everything changes. Be seeing you guys soon.
  6. A few more weeks. Had to rent a scooter for the mrs. this year ($90 a DAY!), but I'm going to use it too, probably more than her. Hey, why walk when I can ride!! And like everyone, I'm not ready for summer to be over so fast. But I'll welcome cooler weather. This heat is miserable.
  7. I just use the polish on my Vette and it's Graphene Spray Coated as well. You should be fine with that and the white pad.
  8. Something you want to say?
  9. Welcome to the forum! Glad I don't have to pay for gas for that big boy!!
  10. You did better than I did last year! Got second in C6, and a Chip's Champion award in the Corvettes for Chip portion. Always feels good to come home with a little something. Congrats!! See you in August!
  11. There Wolf! There Wolf!
  12. Welcome to the forum Rob!
  13. Kind of explains why you would polish after claying. I still prefer clay over chemicals.
  14. Good luck Scott!! Here's to good weather!!! Take lots of pics!
  15. Agreed. Sorry about that. That pic wasn't there when I gave you my answer.
  16. If you're feeling grit on your Vette paint, then you need to do a total detail. Clay, wash, polish, and then either wax or apply Graphene or Ceramic coating. I use the Graphene Spray Coating on mine and it's great. Watch the videos on how to use it and follow the steps exactly. I'd do that before jumping into a paint job. Welcome to the forum!
  17. That's a bit too warm. Especially if it's humid. Wait for a cooler, dryer day or in air conditioning. Ideally, between 65 and 80*.
  18. For me, it lasts between washes. I put it on every time I wash the car.
