  1. I realize it won't do anything for sharp emblems and the like, but depending on what you are masking off, VRT does an awesome job at protecting trim from residue stains. Apply it after the strip wash phase, before clay/polish/etc., and anything you get on the trim (except maybe the coating?) will wipe off easily with a MF towel. Then touch up any necessary areas when you're done.
  2. Maybe offer to send it to Adam's for use in their display at the company's main entrance...
  3. Not "pretty good"...pretty awesome! Nice job!!
  4. Welcome to the addiction, Rob! Sweet car! I considered the Camaro back in the day, but went with a 96 Firebird, also in bright red with t-tops (I preferred the pop-up headlights). LOVED that car. Wish I had kept it, so maybe some day I'll follow your lead and get another like it. Post pics when you're done adding more shine!
  5. Is it because they became "main engine sea water pump strainer blower valves"?
  6. Congrats, young man, and happy 15th! I will now be taking the bus until you get a license. More protection. Just in case.
  7. He probably killed it while staring lovingly at the new stickers...
  8. Quick tip - make a small mark on the back of your pad, e.g. black line. That will allow you to tell quickly if the pad is moving or if it's stuck, and also as a way to adjust pressure accordingly. Can be hard to tell sometimes. Sales happen all through the year, and I'd guess Fathers Day is a prime opportunity for another (I joined the Adam's addiction last summer, post Fathers day, so can't fully vouch). You can always use the forum code "shine on" for 10% off, too.
  9. Agreed on having a naked paint surface before applying the PS. One quick tip on textured plastic areas that Dan mentioned...apply VRT to all your trim after the strip wash, before clay. It'll make removing any residue from clay/polish/sealant/etc. much easier when you're done, likely with just a swipe of a MF towel. Then, touch up any necessary parts of the trim to finish the job.
  10. Hmm. Ok, thanks, Nathan. Might have to add the new one to my next order.
  11. On the contrary...I just didn't have the FP before. It's now waiting patiently for my next detail session(s) in the coming weeks. Standby for the SHINE! By the way, when did the CP formula change? The bottle I have is from last summer.
  12. Here's a link to the video Ryan mentioned, https://youtu.be/w_DO-MA-Nnc. But more importantly, your new avatar is HILARIOUS!!
  13. I'd say give it a few more uses and check for any more "hair loss" . Mine (long bristle version, but still...) stopped losing them after only the second or third use, so hopefully you'll get the same result. If not, I'm certain Adam's will take care of you.
  14. I have skipped the (white) FP, as well, going straight from CP to PS. Turned out great. Post some pics when you get done. Good luck!
  15. Don't know much at all about coatings, but I do know BG has some filling properties. Those, along with the incredible shine it provides, could contribute to this working. At least for a little while. My concern would be the durability of the BG, and you may find yourself continually adding it until/unless you fix the coating. Either way, hope it all works out!
  16. Welcome to the next stage of the addiction, Anthony!
  17. A few tips in this thread, http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/32107-tree-sap-removal. Good luck! P.S. And welcome! Be sure to post a formal intro in the New Member Check-in thread.
