  1. I agree with doing the strip wash before a paint correction detailing session. Nd that's regardless of what you think may or may not be on the paint. Adam's SW, APC mixed with CS, or even blue Dawn (some on here dont like using it, mainly for fear of being harsh on trim or rubber...but I've used it wthout any ill effects) will accomplish the goal. Here's a video: https://youtu.be/KC1l641FzYg To expand on your thought, Alex, the SW is meant mainly to break down and remove any wax or sealant already on the vehicle. Neither of which would you be "scrubbing into the paint." The suds do, however, help remove dirt, bugs, etc., on the car, if that's what you meant.
  2. Valid point. Then again, DS already has a pink hue to it, and the HGG can leave a grey residue if not fully buffed. Really, I see this as all the more reason to buy the ultra plush drying towel and a Sidekick!
  3. Tinted CS foam. While anyone could use it, this would dramatically help those of us with white cars. It would provide a nice contrast between the suds and the paint, with or without a FG or FC. My vote on for would be Adam's red!
  4. Not normal. I'll take it off your hands. Seriously, though, you can also use BG to get rid of that incessant haze on your interior windshield. One of, if not "the," best Adam's hacks out there. And it's an instant air freshener. See here for more: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/31733-remove-haze-from-the-inside-of-the-windows
  5. Welcome to the addiction, Tony! The Durango looks great, and it's about to look even better! Your daughter didn't want to name it Olaf?!
  6. You struck a chord with me on this one, Joe. RUNNING to the old mobile home concession stand, which sat in the middle of the ballpark in the outfield, after little league games is one of my favorite memories as a kid. Win or lose, buying a pack of Big League Chew made everything that much better. It's amazing how cool a 10 year old can feel ripping open that package, laughing with friends, and shoving as much gum into his mouth as humanly possible. Ground Ball Grape was the best! Thanks for that trip down memory lane...
  7. Dealt with this. It is May. Right?!
  8. That's actually a grey version of the red one you saw in the Adam's clinic thread from last weekend. They were running a special that day only so I can't vouch for the price anymore, but here's a pic of both.
  9. A gallon of everyghing, ~50 Double Softs, and a 10ft ladder. That thing is HUGE! P.S. Post some pics when you're done. It's gonna look great. P.P.S. Welcome to the addiction!
  10. I stand corrected. My nose betrayed me! Asked Ryan at Adam's, and he said they were indeed going for a cotton candy scent for the new Matte Detailer. Apparently it's easier to tell when sprayed vs. "nose to bottle." Enjoy the deliciousness!!!
  11. Took the words right out my mouth...or off my keyboard? I brought this up to Matt recently and he said he'd put it on the list!
  12. Give Customer Service a call in the morning and explain what happened. They might just be able to hook you up. (866) 965-0400
  13. Yep, and here's a picture for a side-by-side comparison with a "regular" Adam's logo sticker. Of note: - While it's hard to tell, even with a flash, the two new limited edition stickers are a matte finish, not the normal shiny finish of previous stickers (Matte Detailer, anyone? ) - The one on the right is "all sticker"...no border peels off, in other words Not sure of your source, Wyatt, but after smelling it at last weekend's clinic, I'd call it more of a grape scent. Well, maybe it's grape cotton candy?
  14. Love the GWT; I also just bought one of the new ultra plush drying towels. But another thought for you is to pick up a Sidekick. It's an awesome tool, and reading on here about how people with motorcycles love them (us with cars/trucks do, too, but motorcycles are more similar in this example ), I think it would help your drying process immensely. Add in that it's currently on sale, then double down with either the on-going 10% forum discount or a 15% sale like what's going on now, and it's a real bargain. Think about it.
  15. Go ahead and apply it to the wheel wells (without UCS), it won't hurt. And use it on the rest of the car for that matter!
  16. Firat, welcome to the addiction! As for process, a brief summary of the major steps is strip wash, clay bar, polish (which kind of kinds depends on correction needed), then seal/wax/glaze, or even coat (read this to decide which you'll want to use, including layering products: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/27631-faq-should-i-use-wax-or-sealant-on-my-car/).Watch all the videos here, http://adamspolishes.com/video, and ask questions/read the forum articles. The fun part is coming up with what works for you, as we all have our own little idiosyncrasies. That car is going to look great! Black cars usually do. Good luck!
  17. To clarify, diluted RW and WW are not exactly the same (different formulas), but they are very similar. They're both meant to provide alternate ways to wash a car without pulling out all the stops, for whatever reason you don't want to or can't do. WW is just that...you can clean a car that has light dust or dirt, fingerprints, etc., with just the bottle of product and some WW towels - no water needed. RW is meant for dirtier cars (not caked on stuff, though), but you'll need a couple ounces of product, a bucket of water, and several DST (preferred). I want to say the RW has more shine enhancing properties than WW, but I'll need someone else to chime in to clarify. Diluting the RW provides a more economical approach than does the WW. As for the scent, I prefer the WW quite a bit more. Bottom line, I'd recommend you buy a bottle of RW, try it out, and decide for yourself if both should be in your arsenal. Adam's offers a 110% guarantee, so you don't have anything to lose. For me, I like having them both. Edit: changed WW to RW in the last paragraph - reread your post and realized you already have the WW! Oops.
  18. I'm thinking you treat it similar to a daily driver for your approach. So, in my opnion, the fastest solution is probably VRT the trim and tires, UCS under the body (not what is normally done for a car, but the 4-wheeler is smaller and easier to work with), and PS on the body. Don't know about the seat, but maybe ID or LC. Then, use HGG or Ceramic Boost every so often to keep protection going. All of these products should be fine on the plastics, since they work more than perfect on a car's. Post some pics when done!
  19. We may have walked right past each other! I'm here in the Springs, too, by the way.
  20. Yep, sure do! It probably won't be the last time that happens, either. Welcome to the addiction!
  21. Was fortunate to already get a couple of those. They're pretty sweet!
