Many people are going else where, including myself, so your not alone. In todays competitive car care market, there are much better products out there for a more reasonable price. Unless you like the fashion statement of using only adams. Today's sale I picked up about 25$ worth of some misc stuff to use up the last of my gift cards. $9 For shipping. That's outrageous for smart post. I can go to my local post office and ship the same weight package for 7 dollars and have it go from South Dakota to new York in two days on priority USPS, let alone 10 days.

Post up a pic, that'd be cool to see.

steamer or portable carpet cleaner
K81Chevy replied to SSilver07's question in Interior Cleaning & Care
I think ill be getting a MC1275 here shortly. or the harbor freight version of it. most of the stuff i do will come out with elbow grease and some of my secret chemicals, but steam will be nice i think to help clean the hard stuff. i only do 1 or two cars a week so im not too crunched for time. -
I like my harbor freight tools DA polisher. Is it cheap? Yep, 49.99. Is it high quality? Eh, for harbor freight its decent. but poor compared to others. Does it meet my daily business needs of polishing multiple cars per day? You sure betcha it does. Might not be the nicest polisher in the world, but it keeps my overhead down until i can afford to upgrade.

Products in gallons
K81Chevy replied to Olgrey93's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
This pretty much hits home. I cant justify using some Adams products because its to expensive for me to make a profit when i can get other products in larger sizes at a more reasonable price. -
Microfibers don't seem to absorb anymore
K81Chevy replied to Drive XR7's question in Towels, Brushes, & Accessories
As far as i know, you should refrain from washing them on high heat, and move your wash cycle to "warm". The fibers in your towel will start to melt at about 130 degrees F. That could be a possible contributing factor to your towels repelling water if all the fibers are melted. -
Ironically i ordered from the last sale and chose the $5.50 FedEx Smart Post (5-10 days), my package shipped on the 9th and its arriving today. I must have caught the truck rotation just right. But hey, im not arguing with 2 day shipping haha.

Hood clear coat damage
K81Chevy replied to nrider's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Was just about to explain this, but you hit it spot on. I have a few GM vehicles from this body style. I always tell my customers that detailing only cleans and enhances your vehicle and can not fix damage. Alot of them do not understand this an expect me to be some kind of miracle worker haha. If your paints damaged, no amount of compound or polish will fix it. -
Can i get a request to change mine to K81Chevy Thanks!

Average Waterless Wash Consumption
K81Chevy replied to jakerodz7's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
62$ is a pretty big difference for just diluting rinseless over purchasing waterless, especially if they are the same thing... -
Average Waterless Wash Consumption
K81Chevy replied to jakerodz7's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
Thanks Nathan. Im assuming if i wanted waterless wash, it would be cheaper to buy a gallon of Rinesless and dilute it and make it last longer? -

Rather than starting my own topic, could someone explain the difference between waterless wash and rinseless wash? And what each could be used for. Thanks! -

Ford Paint - soft, hard or medium
K81Chevy replied to bagration's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
Perfect, Biggest thing to remember is go about 1 inch per second and keep your pad clean so it doesn't clog up. With a DA you want to only put downward pressure so the RPM's drop ever so slightly. Heat is the enemy of a DA. -

How to become a distributor
K81Chevy replied to Joe_Joe's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Shoot I'd love to be a dealer.. only thing stopping me is that I don't have the funds in my business to actually carry the product until I sell it. -
Ford Paint - soft, hard or medium
K81Chevy replied to bagration's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
Take your time, less product is more, don't put much pressure on the buffer. Are you using a DA or Rotary? -
It's been a while
K81Chevy replied to Olgrey93's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Id say a strip wash, clay, sealant, topped with buttery is a fantastic idea! Depending on paint condition, might want to consider (if available) buffing some swirls out while you have the truck down to the paint, that way you don't have to strip it down again if you decided to buff later on. Make sure to post up some pics when you're done!
