  1. @Vinnrox250 Here's a thread on the very topic and as multiple of us have recommended, use detail spray for the lube.

    Food Thread

I've had Wagyu and Kobe and while they are both exceptional, in all honestly, I couldn't tell really tell the difference between them and Allen Brothers. If you get a Aged Roast from Allen Brothers, slow cook it on the grill, that is a meal.
  3. Anything beyond light marring and waterspots that #0000 steel wool won't take out has been a permanent mark on my vehicles. I've found the same thing as @Beemer in that glass is so hard, not much will touch it.
  4. Absolutely when you drop it in the sand. If it dries out too much and isn't malleable. While the regular clay has its place, I switched to a Clay Mitt a couple of years ago and haven't looked back. My feeling is that unless you are doing a show car or a black vehicle the Clay Mitt and Detail Spray is ideal, especially for a daily driver.
  5. Game over* *just joking - keep it going.
  6. After using Ceramic Paste Wax on the Mustang and then the daughters Fiesta, I decided to transition the truck to CPW. The truck had not been stripped, clayed and polished in a year, so it was time to spend a weekend showing it some love. The truck was in great shape so it didn't take much to get everything cleaned up starting with a Strip Wash, after the SW, I hit it with Iron Remover, rinsed it off and then into the garage to be clayed. I would have clayed outside, but the weather did not permit it. After it was clayed using the Clay Mitt, I check it for marring and it was minimal. I decided to go with One Step Polish on the hood and front end and Revive Hand Polish on the rest. It probably wasn't necessary, but I did go over the hood and front with Revive to ensure it had the same last product touching the paint as the rest of the truck. Once I completed the truck with Revive, I wiped it down with a clean double-soft, which I repeated this morning before I started applying CPW. The humidity was very high today, I started with a very thin coat of CPW on the roof. It got tacky after about 5 minutes and that is when I started to take it off with a single-soft. The method I use for putting the wax on, is to use a half-turn of the applicator and go over about a 3 square foot section or about half of a hood. If the applicator starts to stick, then you need more wax. I do not use any machines when waxing, call me old-school, but that is my preferred method. The weather has been poor all weekend, so I don't have the best pictures, so I'm sharing the one I was able to take from inside the garage and one I grabbed after the last storm went through. In about two weeks, I'll give it a two bucket wash and use Ceramic Boost as the drying agent. Since the truck sits outside, I'll use CB every 4-6 weeks according to how it looks feels. If the Mustang is any indication, I think it will be around 6 months before it needs another coat of wax. I think by the time it needs another coat of wax, I'll probably put on a base coat of Ceramic Spray Coating - we'll see how much I have left of the other chemicals before I make the decision. As for the cost of the CPW, it is expensive from the investment standpoint, yet the amount of product used is so minimal that I expect to get 20 or so vehicles out of a container. Without a doubt the shine and beading from the wax is exceptional. Update: It is still raining, but when I let the daughter dog out, I there was at least some decent light to get a better picture. The trees from the front fender are approximately one acre away. The two things that really caught my eye was the back of the mirror and how you can see the trees and skyline. The second item is how much better the wheels and tires look even though they were done on Saturday and I only put Ceramic Boost on the wheels.
  7. A couple of weekends ago I did a Waterless Wash followed by Spray Wax on the wife's Malibu. The car was outside this morning when we got a heavy rain and I was rather impressed with the beading properties.
  8. I have only ever used the Eco and am more than satisfied with how it works. Maybe someone else will chime in that have used both and give their opinion.
  9. I got home from Montreal last night, it wasn't fun flying back with all the storms... This morning I started on the truck, it's getting the full treatment and while I was doing the tire and wheels, I was thinking about this thread so I staged a picture of the products used. I know it isn't the best picture, but I had to get it washed and moved into the garage before the storms hit today, we've had 1,158 lightning strikes in the last 48 hours within 25 miles of my house in addition to 4.62 inches of rain. Back to the truck, I use two tire woolies on the truck since the small one is so much easier to get behind the spokes to clean the barrel. The Ceramic Boost is only applied to the wheel and I spray it on a MF towel and then wipe the wheel. Tire shine is applied by the soft red brush on the left and the wheel lug brush is very good. I had one a few years ago that was my favorite until it wore out, the center bristles were cut short, so the long bristles would get the outside area and the shorter center bristles would get the cap area of the lug. I've thought about giving the Adam's one a center haircut. Following this regiment, I get about 6 weeks before I need to really clean them again. The CB pretty much keeps the brake dust of collecting on the wheels and what little does collect rinses right off. I know the wheels are safe to have Wheel Cleaner applied, but given that Eco works fine and smells so much better, I stick with Eco.
  10. Hi Marcus, I've found for very tough water spots on windows, All Purpose Cleaner will usually take it off and then follow that up with regular Glass Cleaner.
  11. Welcome Bob. Hopefully your neighbors son is a member of the site and don't forget to post pictures of what you are keeping shiny.
  12. Welcome to the forum Chiseong. What are you keeping shiny?
  13. Besides Goo Gone, WD-40 will remove sticky stuff in most cases - as other stated, find a test spot first. I've never had an issue, but no need to take chances.
  14. I have two carts, first being he detailing cart, which usually only have the products that I may use for a particular vehicle on it. There are products that are always on there, such as Detail Spray and the tire & wheel products. I keep the three shelves setup for convenience, the top shelf is all body products, the middle is interior the bottom is the time & wheel, including the brushes, hose guards, etc.. The second cart is one the wife picked up for me about a month ago at Sam's. It keeps enough towels and applicators for doing a couple of vehicles and then once everything is washed they go back into their appropriate location. Everything is labeled so there is no doubt what is being used and what goes where. The towel cart bin sizes are perfect for rolling the towels up and you can put 8 borderless grey in one drawer. The bigger towels such as the drying towels have to lay flat and you can can only put two in a drawer, but that has not been an issue for me.
  15. Welcome Brandon. I'm also a Colorado owner and while mine is not ceramic coated is the going through a full weekend detail. All the ceramic products I've used from Adam's so far have been fantastic, so once you pick your regiment, you can count on the products.
  16. I'm risk adverse when it comes to messing up a coating, so I would absolutely apply the coating prep before moving on to the coating itself. As long as you are happy with the way it looks, the coating prep should change how it looks, but will ensure that it is contaminant free and the coating will adhere. If by some small chance the coating prep does change the way it looks, don't apply the coating and take the necessary corrective action, then prep it again. There is nothing better than a Red Mustang with Ceramic Paste Wax, it was unbelievable what it did on my '98 Mustang.
  17. Our patio furniture was in dire need of a real cleaning, so I got out my Foam Gun, buckets and wash mitt and gave them a proper 2 bucket wash. APC took care of the spots that didn't want to come clean. I was giving serious consideration to hitting them with HGG since they are white, but I thought that might be overkill.
  18. When I use trim restorer, I do a small section, maybe a foot or so of the trim, and then using a second cloth rub it in to even it out. The excess will get absorbed into the clock or evenly distributed. If I think a second, third or even fourth coat needs to be applied I wait a couple of hours between. My process has always been to use multiple thin coats allowing it to absorb and dry to ensure it is even in colorization and doesn't run. Here's a video from Adam himself that might be of assistance in regards to the prep, restoration and coating:
  19. Many companies use SmartPost as their standard/free shipping and it does have a longer transit time and Adam's is no exception. SmartPost will normally take between 2 and 7 business days according to your location, where something is being shipped from, weather and availability to fit on a truck. When I am able to order with plenty of time to get the product, I select SmartPost since it doesn't matter when it gets to my house. If I need it quicker, then I select premium shipping and usually have the products within 3 business days. This is not just Adam's products, it is anything that I need from any business, the exception being Amazon where I have prime. I can't blame any company for using the most cost effective method for shipping as long as the client has an option to select a more expeditious manner if need be. I can say that I have never selected premium shipping on a Mystery Box/Bucket, etc. I figured, that since I had no idea what I'd be getting anyway - there was no hurry in receiving it. As for the shipping notice, yes it would be nice to consistently get notified when something is on the way from Adam's and few other companies I do business with.
  20. I'm in agreement with Rich on the look of the Leather Conditioner. I use the Leather Condition on the dash, center console and doors and like the look, but the strong scent bothers the wife. I'm looking forward to trying to Paste to see what it does and how it smells.
