  1. So I see that it states if you use a wax over a ceramic coat you will lose some of the hydrophobic effects. Is this still the case with the new Adams Ceramic Wax? I was planning on using this, but if I am going to lose some of the great properties of a ceramic coat then I might pass.
  2. Yea I was afraid of that also. They are very minor are honestly very hard to see. I am ordering the Brilliant Glaze now and I am also going to get the Ceramic Paste Wax. So the plan is the try the brilliant glaze first.. If that really doesn't get me where I want then I will try the All Purpose Cleaner. So the question now is after I get it where I want it do I boost it again before I wax it? Can I wax on top of the glaze? The car is metallic black and I am new to all this. So for the challenge of having a black car I am happy with the current results. As long as whatever I do cannot be undone or unfixable, short of painting the car. So far it seems not matter what I do worst case I will have to polish it back down. Will the finishing polish be enough to get through the ceramic coat? If so that is great.. I won't have to do the full three step process again. Thanks for all the great info.
  3. So over the weekend I finished ceramic coating my car. I spent the week polishing at night and it came out pretty good. I have noticed a few smear marks, but after reading some posts it seems that maybe from me over applying the ceramic boost, maybe? I am probably going to order the Brilliant Glaze as some have suggested that might help . What I am wondering is if there is anything else I should consider on top of the ceramic coat. Should I wax the car also? I have H2O Guard Gloss and will apply that next wash. Just wondering if there is anything else to do except just maintenance now.
  4. I just applied the Adam''s ceramic coating and did the ceramic boost afterward. I have noticed some smear marks. If I buff hard they seem to come out. So is it safe to spray the All Purpose cleaner right onto the paint? Should you spray it in the micro fiber towel and buff the paint? I may give the strip wax a shot also. Will any of this remove, damage or impact the application of the ceramic coat? All in all. I am still happy.. Getting the few smear marks out would be nice, but I will work on it. I did get a few compliments on my paint at the car show today which was always nice after the work. Thanks
  5. Some of you may have seen I have been posting a lot of questions about ceramic coats as I want to get this right. I just ordered the tire kit. I have a 2016 Camaro SS with black rims. The dealer just replaced three of them with brand new ones because they had small peel marks. The other rim is in fantastic condition and the car has only 10k miles on it. So my question is in the video where Adam ceramic coats the black tires. I see he uses the mini swirl killer and mentions some polishes. Is there a special polish for painted tires or would I just use the finishing polish. If the rim has really no scratches is it worth still using the finishing polish? Anything I can do to make the rims shine even more prior to coating would be awesome. I will definitely clay bar all the tires and clean them prior to the prep and coat. I am also considering taping off my tire. Is that overkill? Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my questions. I will be posting before and after pictures.
  6. I am wondering the difference between using the Ceramic Spray and using the actual kit. I was planning on going with the Kit, but do you get the exact same results with the spray? Just curious of the pros and cons of one way vs. another. Thanks in advance ! Found my own answers.. Seems to be based on the life expectancy of the coating..
  7. Ok so I am a little confused on which pad I need for polishing my car prior to applying the ceramic coating. After watching video 12 where he demos the orbital long throw which is what I am going to use. I see he uses a black microfiber pad (with orange backing) with the normal orange correcting polish. I assume that black pad is basically the same as the white one you offer? Doesn't look as thick but I did not see the black one that is in the video unless I overlooked it. Would that be the idea? Or should I just use the orange form pad with the orange correcting polish and if I need to switch to the heavy correcting polish and then switch to micro fiber? I was told my car has hard paint so I assume I will start with the orange and then move to the blue, but which pads? Thanks in advance
  8. Can you elaborate on that a little please? Is this just wiping down the car with one of the Adams products to remove the left over polish? Or is this an entire process in there?
  9. I have a 2016 Camaro SS. I posted pictures a while back when I joined. Black on Black. If has been in my garage most of the winter and I think I have laid out my plan to bring her back for the Spring. I have had her about four months and only had 8500 on her when I bought her and it was obvious she was well taken car of . The paint is in amazing shape. This process seems pretty straight forward but with spending so much money I would rather not miss a step or find out there was a better plan/method. ----PREP--- Wash Adams Iron Remover Adams Clay Bar Adams Correcting Polish applied using Adams Swirl Killer. (I got the red one for Christmas and am stoke to try it out.) * I have been told I have hard paint so if needed I am figuring I will jump to the Heavy Correcting Compound. Use Adams Swirl Finder Flashlight here —ANY EXTRA STEP HERE BEFORE COATING? --COATING-- Adams Ceramic Paint Coating Kit Extra bottle of Adams Ceramic paint coating * So I have never applied any kind of coating before. I have watched all the videos and it seems straight forward. My concern Would be applying too much and running out early. I figure it would be nice to have an extra bottle on hand. Adams Ceramic Wheel Coating Kit * I will be removing the tires from the car, but not the tire from the rim. Having it off the car will help me get inside the wheel well and all around. Adams Ceramic Trim Coating Kit * My car has limited trim, but I am not going to stop at this point — ANY EXTRA STEP HERE? Wipe it down with ceramic boost, or detail spray. Or just enjoy! Oh yea and I need to figure something out for my exhaust tips. They are pretty dirty so I will need to scrub and polish them. DONE! I have everything up to the coatings and am getting ready to make the purchase soon. Just wondering if I am missing something or if anyone has any suggestions. Figure I will pick up a few coating applicator pads also. I just know my back is going to kill me after all this, but I did buy the Adams adjustable stool. Thanks in advance...
  10. Where can I find a good video/document on drying techniques? I have heard that a lot of scratches can be introduced during drying. I want to learn the proper technique to use when using the waterless wash and detail spray to minimize scratches. I have watched the waterless video a few times with the yellow lambo, and he only wipes the car like two times. I have seen in other videos where it talks about folding the towel properly and applying a full surface to wipe with. A long clean pass and then flip it? Do I do one straight path till the spray dries and then I can go back and forth? If the spray does not dry in one pass do I make another pass in the same direction on the same side of the towel. I know these sound like stupid details, but the more I can do to prevent errors while detailing I would like to do so.
  11. My wife's 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a pretty significant scratch in the passenger side right quarter panel. I thought someone keyed the car at first, but the scratch starts in the rubber part that is right above the wheel well. So I am guessing hat someone did a number with a shopping cart. So all in all we plan to get it taken care of because we just bought it. Short of that scratch the paint is perfect. So my question is will any of your products cause an issue with that scratch? I was hoping to get her car winter ready this weekend, iron remover, detail spray w/ clay, then paint sealant since it sits outside. Will any of these be an issue with that scratch, or should I avoid the scratch when applying? I am assuming I will have no issue, however I figured I would ask. I have assumed many things in my life to find out that assumption is the muther of all .... ups..
  12. So my car sits in the garage and comes out a few times a week. However I really enjoy going out to the garage and wiping it down after work as I find it really relaxing. I have been using the single or double microfiber towels just to wipe it down and will often use detail spray. Is this okay for the car on a daily basis? When I drive it I will usually use the waterless wash to clean it down before going into the garage, so that would be used at least once a week and then I have been using the detail spray on my daily wipe down. I do not want to ruin or cause any issues with overuse of the products. I would assume that just wiping the car down I may run the risk of causing a swirl, but is this risk high? All in all I want to be able to detail/work on the car daily without the risk of really causing issues. Thanks in advance, Vince
  13. Do you still make this product and if not what is a good replacement?
  14. Thank you this is actually almost perfect. I just bought a house and the previous own installed a 220 outlet in the detached garage.
  15. So I just purchased a few of the limited edition box sets for Christmas. I am thinking of keeping one for myself as a collectors item. Does this stuff go bad after a period of time? I would assume there are other collectors out there. Just curious if it is a waste to save one. Thanks, Vince
  16. So I am pretty stoked. I am getting my first order tomorrow. I ordered the Adams Visco Clay and Detail Spray combo and the Adams winter prep must have kit. I just bought my 2016 Camaro 2SS with Mosaic Black Paint. The car is in great shape as it only had 8500 miles on it when I bought it and looked garage kept. I noticed the car was not extremely smooth, so I figured the clay will remove all the previous containments and give me a fresh start. Then the question is what is next? I thought I would just seal it for the winter. The car does have some light scratches and swirl marks but is sealing it still ok and I can work on those in the spring? Is there a mid step I should consider? I ask this mid step because in the video it says you have your car already in good shape to seal it. Thanks in advance for any information and I may end up asking a few more as I make out my Christmas list, Vince P.S . I love the rolling seat, but have you thought of a rolling cart? Like something you would see a hotel service use, but tailored for your products.
  17. Maybe it is nothing.. To me is just looked like there maybe dirt or possible white dried polish near the top of, I guess what is, the "clear bra".
  18. I just purchased a 2016 Camaro 2SS and it is triple black, rims, car, interior. I hear black paint can be one of the most difficult to maintain. So I did buy it used but it only had 9k miles on it and looks to have been garaged and well cared for. From watching your videos there is no point in trying to make my paint amazing when winter is rolling up. Also the paint is already in great shape. So I am now looking at what I should do to prepare for the winter. I am looking at the Adam's Can't Touch This Winter Kit, because it looks pretty complete. I think I would just need to add on a clean kit to be able to prep the car for the winter kit. So I was looking at adding in the Adam's Wash & Protect Kit. I assume these kits would be enough to prepare my car and my wife's 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee without running out of product. Do you think I will need more of a specific product in the kits? I do have a question in regards to the second/third picture I uploaded. So I would assume at some point my car got waxed and it got down in that seam. The third picture is much closer up. What can I do to remove that? It really shows up at certain angles at car shows. So my goals right now are just to prep for winter, get something to spray it down with if I hit a show here and there, then prepare for a plan in the spring to bring the paint back out. I may hit up your forum to help me make out my Christmas list also. WOW that third picture up close like that makes me want to cringe.. I will have to really work on this car, but that is ok.. I plan to learn and your videos are GREAT !! Thanks, Vince
