  1. the weird thing is at night with these white led lights, I cant see the swirls so Im think they might be too bright making the metallic flake shine, so I suppose what I need to do is dig around for an older mag light that had those warmed light bulbs in them and see if I can see the swirls that way and will look into the pop up tent idea too which would be nice regardless as I would be out of the sun.
  2. I have purchased 3 different lights ranging from 200 lumens to 1000 lumens all single white led and I can not see light scratches or swirl marks. During the day or at night, my paint simply reflects the light and hides the imperfections not sure how else to explain it. I have an Audi with Ice Silver for the paint color. I can take these same lights on to any other solid color paintwork and can see the swirls. I think it has to do with the metallic aspect of the paint? Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe a different light like a warmer light? havent tried such yet but before I spend any more money I wanted to get some feedback. Oh I am able to see the swirl marks at night from our motion sensor security light which is a warmer light, maybe that is a factor? I can only paint correct outside, no garage and Im not sure if my apartment neighbors would enjoy me using a DA at night lol... Thanks everyone.
  3. Here is a picture of my ugly mug with a few behind the scenes shots at the Vanilla Ice concert.

  5. Scratch that I wont be free this coming weekend to do a full wash, clay, and polish of my car after all. Just got hired to do a gig with Robert Matthew Van Winkle for Saturday at LA Live, he called me up and asked if I wanted to work with him again which duh of course I do, it was a freaking blast the last time I got to work with him. My poor car, all I have been able to do is maintenance washes. I have been wanting to do a full detail since Christmas but I need at least a good solid two days to do such but I keep having things come up that eat a day out of my weekend. ^^;;

  7. I think those saying it looks like paint is right. I took some Goof Off latex paint remover and used it on the lower quarter of my panel and it started to break it down. I quickly followed up with each pass an ipa and water rinse to make sure it didnt work its way into the clear. That took off the bulk of it. I had family over for the weekend so couldnt spend to much time, so next weekend I will tackle it all and take care of it then. The wheel well liner is a felt like material. I still think its odd they do that instead of plastic maybe it keeps quieter from the wind buffering around the wheel? but yeah that will probably be harder to clean. May have to take off my wheels and use a good scrub brush to that.

  9. Apologies in advance for bringing an old thread back to life, has anyone had any success with the suggestions mentioned before I search for similar products (the provided links dont work anymore) for my similar situation?
  10. Tried it, did several foam washes followed by several power washes... its been stuck on for months... ^^;; I almost feel like I have to take sandpaper to it but Im trying to find a more paint friendly option... ^^;; I have removed stuck on rubber, bug splatter, paint transfer and on and on and yet this mud or whatever it is has been the one thing that does not want to budge... I guess I will have to try something that is higher in the acidic range? maybe a bit of paint thinner? I just worry about the clear coat...
  11. I have searched the forum but didnt find what I was looking for. On my lower panels just behind the wheels there is a bit of mud splatter, almost looks like clay in color. This stuff is hard as a rock. I cant even pick it off with my finger nail. I have tried various cleaners, I even sprayed vigorously an all purpose cleaner on it and nothing seems to work to help loosen it up to wipe off. Any suggestions?
  12. Okay I will create threads in those two sections but Im also going to upload the photos here too for those who come across my question. Again thank you for your help so far, its much appreciated.

  14. Yeah the buttery wax came with my mystery bucket, normally I dont use waxes since it is a daily driver but figured it came so why not try it out since some of my detailing gear wont be hear until next month and have strip my car then anyways. I plan to give it to someone that will have better use for it. The H20 Guard also showed up in my bucket so I do plan to use that as a drying aid in the future.
