  1. I just pulled my pontiac 455 and spent hours cleaning it all up. The intake was worse. I put wheel coat on exhaust tips of vette and it holding up great how about on aluminum manifolds maybe heads? Does it hold in heat like the traditional ceramic coating(not a good thing) Still a work in progress
  2. Got it out in the sun..was worried about how it would look in natural light with the massive amount of polishing and touch up paint i used...it looked better! Really happy with Adam's products. Not sure if I'd use the wheel ceramic on polished aluminum again but everything else is absolutely amazing! If the wheel stuff holds up to dust and dirt I may change my mind
  3. I have a new fave! Ceramic boost is the shiznit!! Wow! Reminds me of that satisfying feeling and depth of z6...smells quite a bit like it too lol. I wish I could capture a good before of this hood it was battered!!
  4. Here is that same section after 30 days, light polish, adams ceremic and new vent and emblem. I wanted to lose the emblem but it was a bit too noticable. GXPaycheck is right the DR chip color is a different kind of paint for sure. and the fine paint pins are pretty awesome but the vet had so much rash I didn't have ANOTHER 100 hours to put into it I posted langka results 3rd pic. 5 minutes of really light prep with sanding pic. Clean with alcohol and fill just twice two BIG white chips. It could be way better but too much on car to spend more time.
  5. Bummer. It is a pretty even glow all over. I would use the light as applying then after wipe I would go over again to confirm. I'm guessing I was way too aggressive on the wipe off after closer to 1 minute 45 in about 60 to 65 degree garage with cloudy sprinkling weather outside. I looks great and I think I'll just roll with it for the summer (garage kept) and in the fall go at it again. Should be much easy to do a detail, rather than the "restore detail" I've been doing. Thinking the same thing on the wheels again (I need them to look as good as your BRZN!) BTW I'd love to add a SOM or DSOM (not sure) GTO to my garage. They are beautiful cars!! I had a H/C WS6 SOM on Fikse FM5's loved that car!
  6. Thank you! If I wait 24 hours is that too long for a second co If I could do it tomorrow morning I might talk myself into it. Otherwise I may just let it roll for the summer and practice some more on the wife's dark gray car.
  7. Just spent the day applying Adam's Ceramic UV coating. First time using a ceramic coat, looks great but I was super scared of letting it sit too long I had some "runs" on my wheels from leaving it too long. Its covered in a light purple glow under the light, some places darker than others but for the most part pretty even. My question is how do you know when for sure to wipe it off??? I'm pretty sure I didn't leave it sit long enough. You could kind of see colors and it looked like it was evaporating a bit then wiped it off...but it really didn't get "tacky" I started letting it sit long enough for the polishing cloth to drag a bit. I may have enough for another coat...although it looks great and the car will be in the Garage. Thinking about doing the boost tomorrow morning and call it good. But wan to order another couple of kits and do my other cars!!
  8. Here is an example of how far its come! This is the roof. I did IronX and claybar and have left it because I'm going to get it wrapped carbon. This was one of the better panels on the car lol
  9. Thanks Dan! I went back out and really took your advice and looked at things and figured I was reaching diminishing returns. I probably have 100+ hours into this "detail" Between the wheels and touch up paint, and polishing. Are these the towels you were talking about? I use them for the surface prep, I'll pick some more up. I just bought like 40 double plush towels. https://adamspolishes.com/products/adam-s-borderless-grey-edgeless-towel Just hit with Ceramic, I'm going to post a question. I don't think I let it sit long enough before wiping.
  10. I have both Langka and Dr Chipcolor on my Vette. For the mirrors Dr Chipcolor with a squeegy kit works fairly well assuming your not going after each of the rash individual. That first chip I'd probably get a chip sanding pen. Then use Langka with a painting pen. It builds up way better than chipcolor. Here is the rash on my Z06. Here is it before, after applicating and after. I was able to do a final polish with a white pad after 30 days. I read that earlier than that it can pull out.
  11. Stuff smells awful but some of the best trim product I've ever used if it holds up. This stuff is trashed Alaska trim with no care for 13 years.
  12. yep just went through this, wetsanding is in your future with Adam's 1 an 2. I had good results with a maguire cone. With that start maybe start at a 1000 and work up to 4500. Then 1 and 2..then hand polish with 2. I used the ceramic wheel coating and lost some luster.
  13. LOL my garage is a mess, I've put all my extra time into this car and a master bath remodel.
  14. So I've spent MONTHS bringing back an 06 z06 from Alaska. From Wetsanding CCW's and polishing repeatedly to probably 4 and sometimes 5 polishes a panel. Using alot of Adam's products for the first time but for the paint correction did the following: - Carpro Ironx - twice..first time you would have thought the car was purple. - Solid hand wash - Zaino clay bar, I have a couple from back in the day - Menzera Intense polish with Orange lakewood pad and porter cable (dusted quite a bit - Menzera Finish polish with White lakewood pad - Surface Prep with double soft polish cloth Given time between some of this I did use the waterless wash and towel to get dust off from sitting. But did the last final polish yesterday. Opened garage door and there are some light scratches. Looks like from the microfiber towel. Not sure if this is from me not polish right or pushing too hard on the towel when trying to clean on bare paint? Should I hit it with a black pad then be ultra careful surface prep?? they are light enough if I was using Zaino or probably adams sealant they would fill if you know what I mean. But I'm ceramic coating everything (first time using) and worried I'm coating imperfections for 3 years. Care still has pitted clear coat and scratches but way better than when I started. It's probably never had paint correction and good washing techniques, Alaska summers even are not easy on cars with the gravel and dirt up there.
