  1. Thanks for your response. I'll take a look at the video and see which makes sense. I'll have to check to see if my chrome wheels are clear coated, so for now I think I'll avoid using the ceramic on them. I see your in Co Springs. Say hi to Adam for me. Tell him Rich from Fort Myers said hi!
  2. Thanks for your reply. Actually, I'm not sure which one I would prefer and since I am unfamiliar with ceramics and the benefits of each, that's why I asked the question.
  3. I'm a long time user of Adam's products but to be honest, I'm just not up to speed on the new ceramic coatings. I have to admit I'm more comfortable using Adam's traditional Swirl & Haze Remover, Revive Polish, Buttery Wax, and Americana paste wax, and very familiar with these on many of my Corvettes over the years. I do have new products, but they are still traditional Polish and Compounds. I have a new 2022 C8 Corvette that I'm going to have the hood, front fenders and rocker areas layered with Xpel PPF next week. I will clay those areas and machine polish before the PPF is installed. But where I need help is which Ceramic product to use on my C8? Is there a different Ceramic product for on top of the PPF? I have chrome wheels, is there a different product for them? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Where is Adam when I need him? 🤣
  4. I have no clue, and to be honest, I really don't want to know. I have a Gladiator standing cabinet in my garage that is used just to store my detail stuff. Everything in there was bought through Adam's. Two full shelves of individual bottles, one shelf for gallon containers and one shelf for the heavy stuff like my PC and buffing pads. Adam once told me to be careful and not use too much of the product, a little goes a long way. So, I have lived by that with great results, but I also have a cabinet filled with the older products that still work great and I feel like I have been left behind because of all the new products that have come out. As far as the wife is concerned, that isn't a problem in this house because she compounds my Adam's spending. She keeps her own supply of window cleaner and carpet cleaner and she just tells me, ..."I need another gallon".
  5. I know exactly what you mean. I'll be looking the car over and spot a surface scratch that looks as obvious as the wort on the Wicked Witch's nose and wonder where it came from, since the car has not moved since I last washed it! :jawdrop:
  6. Adam, I have always been leery of waterless washes because I was concerned about scratching the paint. Can you give me some idea at what point do you say it is too dirty to use the waterless wash and back to the hand wash. With my Vettes primarily in the garage most of the time, the biggest issue is the dust collection. So, I am intrigued with this new product line, if you can give me some guidance on when to use and when not to use. My Navy Blue Metallic convertible is so easy to show surface scratches I am extra careful what I put on it. Thanks Rich
  7. Adam also converted me over from Zaino a number of years ago and I have never looked back. You won't either! Rich
  8. Adam has been a long time sponsor of the Detailing section of CorvetteFlorida.com
  9. That's ok. I sent you a PM this morning. Could you take a look and get back to me. Thanks Jason! Rich
  10. Jason, Are you suggesting that there IS the possibility of damaging something with the use of the Gen1 pads? I have not switched over to the Gen2 pads because my Gen1s are still in great shape. In fact, I still have a black/white pad in the plastic bag that I have not used yet. So, I am concerned about your "zero possibility of damage" comment. Could provide some additional information. Thanks Rich
  11. I use VRT on the convertible top of my '69 Vette. This top is vinyl and it works great. I have not had any problems with it running, but my car does not get out in the rain if possible. Rich
  12. Well, your right Rich. I was at this show and although it was a really nice show, you do have spectators that are curious, ...but not "car people". So, they don't quite understand the pickyness that we car nuts go through. Although, they normally are harmless, there always seems to be one or two that are oblivious about the way their purses or knapsacks swing and bang on the car. Normally, not an issue. But if a kid gets close, typically I get off my butt and sort of guide him or her around the car. But, a great display of cars at this event nonetheless. Rich
  13. Thanks Scott. Most of those Vettes are from our club. Great display. Rich
  14. Hey Adam, I have not used my clay bar that I got from you a couple years ago. If I remember correctly the color of it is gray. I am still using the clay bars that I had from Zaino before I met you, Dale and Brad. I must have bought these 4 or 5 years ago. I have gone through a couple but still have two of them left and they are yellow. I guess I need to covet the yellow clay bars regardless of what jar they are packaged in. Rich
  15. Hey Scott, I wish I knew that you were there. I was there with my Z06 Commemorative Edition. My club, Corvettes of Naples, brought about 50 Vettes to the show and we were parked just west of the Hooters van. I am sure you saw the retro '53 on the C5 chassis. I was parked right next to him on the west side. We have two CEs in our club and the other was parked on the east side of the retro '53. We had planned to be parked farther away from each other, but it did not work out. Great pics! I forgot my camera, ...duh! I am glad that you got a pic of the Koenigsegg CCX. I had read about the CCX, but had never seen one in person. Did you see the window sticker on that sucker? Neat car, but at $985k, I could buy a lot of Vettes to add to my collection for that kind of money! It was a long day but a great show. When we were trying to get out at about 3:20, there were still sooooo many people still walking 5th Avenue, that it was difficult to get out. Sorry I missed meeting you. Rich
  16. Very familiar with Darlington. I was a member of the Bel Air Corvette Club for about 20 years. Harford county is beautiful country! Just too **** cold for me now that I am retired. Ft. Myers lets me play with my cars and play golf 12 months a year. Welcome to the group. Rich
  17. Lisa! Where in Harford County? The wife and I lived in Fallston for many, many years before retiring to Ft. Myers in '07. Rich
  18. :welcomebanner: I am a former Marylander too. The wife and I lived in Fallston for 22 years before retiring in 2007 and moving to Ft. Myers, Florida. You are going to love the Adam's products! Rich
  19. Adam, I use the bucket to sit on as much as I do to wash the Vettes. Have you thought of providing a seat cushion of some sort to ease the situation of sitting for extended periods doing below the belt line or the wheels? Thanks Rich
  20. I think I married her sister! I know it's my wife's cooking that keeps the weight on me. It can't possibly be my beer consumption, ...I drink light beer. Has to be her cooking. Rich
