    Traded up...

Decided to trade in my 2008 Gallardo and picked up this beauty. Can't wait to hit it with my Adam's products first thing tomorrow.
  2. I wasn't a fan when it first came out, but after seeing one in person about a week ago, it really grew on me. Picked this beauty up today.
  3. Already there Rich. Got my ZR1 and 1957. The 2005 was my first Vette and was very special. Always dreamed of owning a yellow Vette since 6th grade. I'll miss her, but I'm still a Vette guy!
  4. Took my brother-in-law to pick up his new Pathfinder yesterday and found a gem on the showroom floor. I've been contemplating getting a new addition lately and trading my '05 Vette in. I couldn't resist, so I pulled the trigger. So far it is a blast to drive. Haven't had a chance to fully open it up due to all the LSU, Florida traffic coming back from Baton Rouge last night, but I'm looking forward to next weekend!
  5. Believe me, I'm a gun guy through and through. I'm not into hunting, but I do enjoy going to the range at least twice a month to take out some targets. For me it is a way to release some stress. My father was a homicide detective and for as long as I can remember, I was around and shooting guns. I have my CCW and have used it in a situation before. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but as my dad used to say, if you can't protect yourself, don't expect someone else to. For those who say we need gun control and limit how we can protect ourselves, I say to them tell me your stance after your daughter calls you crying out your name for you to help her.
  6. I have a local company called APS. I had monitronics in another home I owned and they were fine. Get it set up!
  7. Today had to be both the worse and best day of my life. My 16 year old daughter had only one exam today so she got home early around 9:30. She sent me a text and said that she was home and was planning on cleaning out her school files seeing that she is finished for the year. She always puts the alarm on "Stay" while she is home for safety measures. At 10:17am, my cellphone rings and it is my daughter. I knew something was wrong the minute I saw the call, because she NEVER calls my cell. As I answered the phone, I could hear the house alarm blaring in the background, dogs barking and she was crying out for me. Not 10 seconds into the call, my monitoring company called my office phone. I answered and heard only one phrase "We have a front door notification". I immediately screamed dispatch the police and ran from my office. As I was running down the stairwell I could hear my daughter talking on the home phone. The last thing I heard before her cell disconnected was "He's in the house". My heart stopped. My office is only about 10 minutes away, but it seemed like an eternity. I have a bunch of buddies on the police department and as I was trying to call her back and flying through traffic and red lights, one of my friends called when he heard the call go out for my address. He was about 4 minutes away and told me that he was in route. I continued to call her cell but got nothing. Every moment of her life flashed in front of my eyes. As I came flying down my street, I could see about 8 units parked in every direction, including on top of my lawn. I jumped out of my car and immediately saw they had what appeared to be a teenager handcuffed on my neighbor's lawn and then my friend grabbed me. I will never forget that feeling as long as I live. It was as if someone knocked the wind out of me. I couldn't speak. I just stared at him and finally said please tell me she's ok. I could hear the police officers in my house over the radio saying that she was refusing to come out. The 911 dispatcher was telling her that everything was fine, but she refused to come out until I arrived. I could hear her saying "I'm not coming out until my daddy gets here". My little girl loves to go to the range and shoot with dad and today everything I taught her paid off. She was walking from the kitchen to the den when she saw a guy running up the walkway through our glass front door. He began kicking it to force his way in. She immediately ran to the bookcase in the den and grabbed one of my guns along with the telephone and locked herself in the bathroom. She has been taught that if anything ever happens to get to a weapon and barricade yourself in a room. If they dare attempt to gain access to that room, you shoot, shoot and keep shooting. It turns out that the guy had just carjacked someone about 3 blocks away and had jumped out of the car when he crashed it into a telephone pole. He took off on foot and saw a unit across the highway and tried to get into my home to hide. The officers were amazed at how a 15 year old reacted in that situation. The dispatcher finally assured her that I was there. I called out to her and she slowly exited the bathroom still clenching the .45 she had grabbed. It was a very emotional time for both of us. When everything calmed down and they finished taking her statement, the police chief showed up and was joking around with her saying that he wants her to teach a class for the department. One of the officers commented that she grabbed the smallest and biggest gun she could. She told him that she loves her pink Glock 19, but it was upstairs. At that the officer said, well that 19 gives you 15 shots and that .45 only has 6, but it's a whole lot meaner. Without missing a beat, she said "Yeah, but I grabbed two extra clips when I grabbed the gun". That's my girl!!!!
  8. Finally got rid of my wife's daily driver (Mercedes GL450). I couldn't stand that thing. Been looking at the Audi Q7 and the Lexus, but decided on this tank. This thing is HUGE. I'm going to have fun detailing this behemoth.
  9. Trading my wife's Mercedes. She wants the Audi now.
  10. You may have something there! I think I will borrow my friends 2003 Tahoe and see if that helps.
  11. You know I thought I had seen everything when it came to crapy customer service when I attempted to buy my wife and daughter a car last July. For those you of you who may remember, I couldn't get my local Porsche dealership to call me regarding a car I saw on their lot. Link below for the original crappy experience I had that put my blood pressure through the roof. Well it happened again! http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/lounge/18873.htm This time it's Audi. I went over to my local dealership on Friday March 29th to see about buying a Q7 for my wife and a S7 for myself. Looked around with a salesman for about 30 minutes and found the two I wanted. I told the salesman that I was going to be trading in two vehicles and asked if they could arrange to have someone come to my house to appraise the trades. They said no problem. Asked if I could email them the VIN#'s to both cars and they would be out Monday or Tuesday. I sent the VIN#'s over about 2 hours after leaving the dealership and asked that they contact me with a time to appraise the cars. Saturday, no call. Monday no call, Tuesday no call, so I decided to give the sales person a call to see what was going on. The girl who answered the phone said that he was with someone and took a message. I asked for the General Sales manager and was told he also was unavailable. No call back Wednesday, Thursday Friday, Saturday or today. I really think someone is punking me. It's not like I dive up in an old beater. I drove up in my Lamborghini and tell this idiot I'm ready to purchase two cars for $160K and I get NOTHING!!!! Did a little experiment Saturday and emailed a local Honda dealership inquiring about a CRV on their website. Got an email about 5 minutes later and a call about 30 minutes later asking if I would like to stop in and see the car. I told them I was tied up at my office and they offered to drive the car to me. Before anyone says go to another dealership, there is none. Have any of you ever experienced anything like this? I mean I could understand it happening once but twice now and a different dealership?
  12. I've been so busy at work lately that I haven't had time to keep up with the forums. Last time I was on, I thought I remembered Dylan posting that a new detail spray was on its way. Was that true, or was it just a dream I had? I looked on the site and didn't see "New" with the detail spray.
  13. Well, my mother-in-law has been over since Wednesday so I needed to get out of the house. Got an itch to go to Best Buy and check out the new TV that Sharp introduced. Took a nice trip with my daughter and pulled the trigger on this beauty. Scheduled for delivery on 12/13/12. Looking forward to watching my alma mater (Notre Dame) win the BCS Championship on it. 14. Mook, Don't know if I'm understanding your issue totally, but here is my advice on what I believe your problem is. First, if you have purchased music, movies etc from iTunes on an account and the library is on a computer that you can not access, you can call Apple and they will reset your account to download the purchase again free of charge. You can only do this one time for each account. A friend and I have both done this. The purchases can not be transferred to a new account for protection. The other path would be the cloud. The above was done before they introduced the cloud, so you should be able to use the Cloud if you device supports it. I have also used this on several occasions and it works fairly well. Finally, you need to look into home sharing. We have three separate accounts and use home sharing and it works just fine. There is a solution, no need to repurchase anything or buy any additional software.
