With Recochem acquiring Adam's Polishes and our blending company last year, as well as the recently announced POR-15 partnership, this provides exciting new technologies to not only expand the brand, but to develop and offer new technologies and products, and grow the international audience too since Recochem is a worldwide company. I have not discussed this with anyone yet, but I suspect that we may eventually have category tabs on the website for partner products. They're under New Products right now because they're new, and that is typically the most browsed section of the website.

Rest assured, as you said, we always strive to offer the best car care products out there. Even just last night, our chemist showed me some very cool things he is working on, but I can't discuss that quite yet!

I agree that I only apply one coat for the Graphene Ceramic Coating. For the non-graphene coatings like UV Paint and UV Wheel Coating, if you do want to apply a second coat, our chemist recommends applying 1-2 hours after finishing the first coat. You could try this with the Graphene Ceramic Coating, but the second coat may not bond as well to itself. I plan to try this soon on a few rear panels on my car that are in need of being compounded, polished, and re-coated since it's been 2 or 3 years now and 30-40k miles of driving in every weather condition in that time frame!

One layer is sufficient, use the UV light to ensure you get full, even coverage. With coatings, the law of diminishing returns applies, so adding 2+ layers doesn't equate to 2x+ protection. Do proper prep, maintain regularly, and you'll get the best, longest lasting results.

Dan@Adams got a reaction from Captain Slow in Graphine coating, "shadows"
Hi JB, and welcome to the forum! I'll try to address all of your questions the best I can.

    1. This can occur with our Graphene Ceramic Coating and UV Ceramic Paint Coating on darker colored vehicles from my experience; however I did have some of them on a red metallic Chevy SS I did a while back too (UV Paint Coating, not Graphene Ceramic Coating). The UV LED Light will make this much more visible shortly after application, but the lines usually show up if the coating was not wiped away thoroughly enough - usually they will show up in an overcast or cloudy sky and it will look perfect in the sunlight. Usually a few drops of white Polish or Brilliant Glaze will remove the shadows without too much struggle if you catch them within the first 12 hours or so after application. After 12 hours they might require more effort and/or machine polishing to correct.

    2. Not necessarily. If the rainbow effect was dissipating after 60-90 seconds and the coating felt slightly tacky or had a small amount of tension when wiping with the towel, that is sufficient time to let it dry. Sometimes it takes 2-3 minutes in my garage, sometimes 60-90 seconds - it depends on temperature and humidity levels.

    3. That is just about perfect with the overlapping to ensure even coverage. I do wipe the applicator in a nice slow movement with a slight bit of pressure since some of the coating absorbs into the applicator.

    4. The lines to me seem more prevalent when I seem to apply the coating a little too thin in areas, so yes I do add a few more drops of coating to the applicator; however, the process that I do that seems to work best for me is as follows:
I will put several drops of coating onto the applicator, then do an outline around the perimeter of a panel, without lifting the applicator from the surface. Oxygen makes the coating flash, so each time you lift and place the applicator down onto the surface, it will be heavier there (and this is where I will usually find high spots later).  Once I have the outline done, I will do horizontal back and forth across the panel, again without lifting the applicator from the surface. The perimeter edge of the coating serves as a "pool" to pick up extra coating into the applicator to make the horizontal lines nice and even, overlapping each line as you said. Once the horizontal passes are done, then I will add more drops of coating into the applicator and then do vertical passes on the panel in the same manner, without lifting the applicator from the surface as I move it up and down. If you split a door or hood into two sections to reach, I will do one section and then immediately do the other section before wiping off the first section. If I don't do this, I can then see a visible vertical overlap line where two sections met, once I wipe away both sections. So this can then show up as a faint high-spot line that I will have to take care of later. 5. To prevent it from happening again, I feel also comes into how the coating is wiped away. Once the rainbow begins to fade, I take a clean Suede Towel folded into fourths, and I lightly wipe/smear the coating all in same direction - either left/right or up/down. This towel will remove about 50% of the coating with this light wipe. Then I'll let the coating tack up again for another 30 seconds or so, and then take my Single Soft/Borderless Gray/Edgeless Utility Towel to remove the remainder of the coating. I wipe multiple passes and multiple directions with this second towel, to make sure all residue is removed and I have far less high-spots afterward using that process.

Also keep in mind that the UV LED Light shows EVERYTHING, and you don't want to chase having absolutely perfect coverage with the UV glow tracer. The UV glow will dissipate and look more even after a few hours. What I usually do is apply the coating, remove it, and then use the UV light afterward to do a spot inspection to see if I missed anywhere, otherwise you can spend double the amount of time trying to use the light while applying the coating.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but hopefully that helps out! Please let us know if you have any other questions

I've had nothing but success using them. Easy to use, forgiving, and the shine and results are truly incredible. I also see and and hear pretty consistent positive feedback, both here, other online venues, and in store from customers.

The most common negative feedback I've seen is it's a scam/not pure Graphene (Adam's has been very up front and honest in videos, articles and posts about the science and chemistry, never claiming it's pure graphene), and it doesn't last (which is usually because people don't do proper prep and/or maintenance). I've also seen some complaints about white streaks on trim, which is an admitted error in instructions and has already been brought to the team's attention.

Have you tried it yet? If not, I suggest you do and judge for yourself. After all, Adam's offers a 110% guarantee, so nothing to lose and everything to gain!

Hi Daniel, I'm in agreement with you that CS3 is a kick tail product and I absolutely love it.  I was really amazed when I paired the Graphene Spray coating with CS3 and turns it into CS3 on Steroids.  I also absolutely love the Graphene Detail Spray on coated and non-coated vehicles.   Not every vehicle I touch ends up with Graphene Spray Coating, it is really up to the person on whether or not they want that or something else.  However, my personal vehicles will all be Graphene Spray Coated within the year along with my kids and their spouses.  This is a choice for the daily drivers and garage queens.

Whenever I find my next toy, that may not end get coated and may end up with Patriots wax on it.  It is all according to what I find with a leading contender being a '72 Stingray that has sat outside, uncovered for over 10 years.  I would love to bring it back to life and while not up to the standards of '71 Mach 1, it would make a nice play toy.  The sports car that my son-in-law is building may not may not end up being coated, that is up to him once it is completed.   The only we know for certain it that we'll have Adam's products on all of them.

I agree with the guz,  no one washes their vehicle repeatedly with crazy heavy duty degreasers.

There are a few great youtubers out there, I’m not here to promote anyone, but they do more real world testing, with regular soaps, or true longevity tests.  These guys i trust and they are showing more real world scenarios,  plus i like testing, and I play with different things myself, as do most of us.

For example...On the previous version of Adams spray coating, it came out Black Friday 2019, so not the graphene, It has been on my daily driven 2001 Silverado for 8 months.  I have washed the truck twice per month, 1 bucket, Adam’s blue car shampoo, 10” wash pad, dried with the ultra plush drying towel, no toppers, no boost, no details spray...nothing.  And the coating (spray) is still beading like day 1, well day like 14, since I didn’t put water on it for a couple weeks.   It lives outside 24/7,  drives 50/50 country roads and high speed highways outside of Washington DC.

Now, it was prepped, Clayed, 2 step compound and polish, prep spray, 1 layer of coating, 24hrs later, ceramic boost.  But that is all.

As far as the graphene coating,  I’ve been using it since it came out and its still holding up on another vehIcle just fine,  but its only been 3-4 months I think, and its doing great!

1.)Wash in the shade. If no shade, wash in the early morning or evening
2.)Don't rinse the soap off the vehicle until you're done washing the entire vehicle
3.)Sheet rinse and dry using Detail Spray as a drying aide
    or
3a.)after you rinse off the soap, rinse that water off (that contains minerals that leave spotting) with Deionized, Reverse Osmosis, or Distilled water
    then
4.)blow dry the vehicle with an Air Cannon

Warm Water in my buckets. A thin pair of Glove Liners as insulation under a pair of Nitrile Gloves with a pair of Playtex Hand Saver Dishwashing Gloves over the Nitrile Gloves. As long as the temps are above freezing I wash outside on the driveway. No need for the local Pay & Spray, I've got a Pressure Washer.

This may blow your mind's, but if it's below 40 and I decide to wash a vehicle, I'll often use the two bucket wash method with the Truck Brush!

To date, no noticeable marring on any vehicle I've done this on. Those of you that know me, know I'd see the marring. It's not like I'm new to this.

Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner is a salt-based formula, so I would not use it on any leather or synthetic leather surfaces myself. If you did, follow it up with some Leather Conditioner or Interior Detailer as soon as you can.

Thanks so much for the detailed response @Dan@Adams (and @Chris@Adams and @falcaineer). Super helpful. The spot is rather small (like a nickel) and hard to notice on our “kid hauler” which gets beat up and parked outside all the time so it doesn’t bother me too much if it has to stay, though the idea of it growing concerns me.

After I corrected and polished the hood to try to remove the etch I applied Ceramic Boost so maybe that will help preserve it as is. I’ve toyed with the idea of some 2000 grit sandpaper (saw the video where Adam uses it on the Bentley) just to see if it’s an improvement but I definitely am not looking to go to the base coat or end up at a body shop. That sounds scary.

Dan@Adams got a reaction from tlbullet in Can this be removed (bird poop etch with pics)?
    Hi @EnzianF90

Unfortunately this type of bird dropping looks like it has etched the clear coat to the point that it has fractured the clear, which looks like small cracks and ripples in the clear coat. Bird droppings can be very acidic and can damage a clear coat in as little as a few hours if left on the surface or out in the hot sun. The acidic dropping eats through the clear, and the acid penetrating combined with the heat from the sun causes it to web outward - almost like how you will see a crack in a windshield enlarge and split out in different directions with extreme heat or cold, just on a much smaller scale. This example looks similar to what is known as "crow's feet" clear coat failure; however with crow's feet, it is a problem that is usually in a large area of a panel or sometimes an entire panel due to the cracks spreading from improper prep of the area (or from a repainted area that may not have been prepped very well).

Polishing the area like you did can make it look better and reduce the appearance somewhat like Chris mentioned, but from looking at those pictures, the etching/cracks in this spot are most likely through the entire clear coat portion of the paint job, down to the base coat. So if you continue to compound and polish it, you could get down to the base coat before the cracking is fixed, and then you would have a bare paint spot that will be shiny but look different than the rest of the vehicle (I did this before being greedy with sanding a scratch on my project truck). Our Scratch & Swirl Remover has a fine grit abrasive to it, but I don't think it will fix this 100% in this particular case - if it was staining and discoloration from bird droppings, I usually have good luck with repairing that to near 100% fixed though.

In this case, you will most likely need to sand down the area and spray new clear coat, blending it in as evenly as possible. Painting is not in my skill set, so I agree with falcaineer's suggestion and would have a paint/body shop take a look at it like. If you want to hold off on body work, protecting the area with a sealant or ceramic coating would prolong the amount of time before it would potentially become worse, so it comes down to if it's in a very noticeable area of the hood that will bother you, or if you can tolerate it for the time being and try to hide it some with sealants and so on. If it was me, since my area is very cold in the winter months, I would wait until it warms up some if I had to go with the repaint option.
