  1. Dan@Adams's post in Waterless wash as clay lube before graphene was marked as the answer
Agree with Chris, but I would also consider doing at least a light polish with One Step Polish or our White Polish in between claying and Surface Prep to get the paint looking as good as possible before applying the Graphene Ceramic Coating 👍
  2. Dan@Adams's post in When to change ceramic applicator was marked as the answer
I do exactly as Chris states here, two uses per applicator and then I throw it out. I'll use each side perpendicular to the stitched seam. Using two adjacent sides is too risky - after using a side, those two edges will become hard and crystallize, and can and will scratch if you try to use the adjacent side for the next application. I would recommend factoring the applicators into the cost of coating a vehicle and have several spares on hand.

This weekend, I even found that the 4-5 hours (had multiple pauses during application) that I spent applying Graphene Ceramic Coating to my neighbor's new Tundra, the applicator began to harden during that time frame, so I did have to move to a new side about 3/4 of the way through coating the truck.
  3. Dan@Adams's post in Ceramic spray & h2o GG was marked as the answer
Hi Richard, sorry no one got to your questions yet, I'm just seeing this now!

When you say you have a lot of H2O Guard, is it the old version or the new hybrid version that we began selling a few months back? The old version is not SiO2-based, but the new version is infused with a small amount of SiO2. The old version will not hurt or lessen the lifespan of the coating, but there is potential for the hydrophobic properties to be slightly less than if you were to maintain it with Ceramic Boost instead.

I hope that helps out. Let us know if you have any other questions!
  4. Dan@Adams's post in Spray Detailer on Car Treated with cQuartz Finest was marked as the answer
In regards to our products, Waterless Wash and Ceramic Boost would both work great with your ceramic coating Oz.

Ceramic Boost is a ceramic detail spray designed for ceramic coated vehicles, and it works excellent!
  5. Dan@Adams's post in Is Adams Detail spray safe for dry carbon hoods? was marked as the answer
Hi Greg, thanks for signing up to the forum!

Adam's Detail Spray does contain a small amount of carnauba content to it, and is intended to add shine, gloss, and depth. If you wanted to retain the dry carbon look as much as possible, I would recommend our new Matte Detailer instead.

Since the hood is treated with a ceramic coating, you can use Detail Spray on it, and it will keep the slightly glossy look, but I would personally recommend our Waterless Wash and our Ceramic Boost instead. Waterless Wash is a cleaner that would add minimal shine, and Ceramic Boost is an SiO2 ceramic infused spray sealant designed specifically to maintain and enhance ceramic coatings. Since our Detail Spray has a small amount of wax in it, over time it could begin to slightly diminish the hydrophobic water-repelling properties of the coating itself, but this is not something I have noticed on my personal vehicle.

Hope that helps and let us know if you have any other questions!
  6. Dan@Adams's post in H2O GUARD AND GLOSS was marked as the answer
Correct, we updated all of the kit images a week or two ago with the new bottle labels and put the Borderless Gray Towels in with the H2O Guard & Gloss Kits, but the backend system needs to be updated still to have the Borderless Gray instead of the Single Soft Towels. I will remind Matt

For what it's worth, I get 2-3 months out of one application of HGG on my daily driver, and using it every wash would be overkill in my opinion. For other tips/suggestions that you asked for:

    - Only use it on one or two panels at a time
    - If using it on a darker colored vehicle, work quickly to avoid streaking
    - Try to use it in the shade if possible - if out in the sun, work quickly
    - Two or three sprays per wet panel is usually enough, especially once the wet towel has some product built up in it
    - Shake the bottle thoroughly before and during use
  7. Dan@Adams's post in Microfiber towels was marked as the answer
If they don't appear damaged and still feel soft, they should be ok. If you have room anywhere, see if you can set up a clothes line to air dry them so that you don't have to fight for dryer time with your mom
  8. Dan@Adams's post in Is this normal for the Geoimpression Tool? was marked as the answer
Hi Seth, did it come straight out of the jar like that or did that happen after use? It does not look normal to me. If you don't mind, please send an email to orders@adamspolishes.com explaining the issue, attach that picture, and we will get things taken care of for you

Edit: I should have clarified in my original post that it will not affect the performance of the Visco Clay by having a few sections of the Geoimpression Tool missing from the mold, but we are investigating this.
  9. Dan@Adams's post in Which Machine was marked as the answer
I too would recommend the Rupes LHR 15ES, Cyclo, or Porter Cable 7424XP over the Flex for someone new to machine polishing. The Flex is a pretty powerful too, and with the forced rotation as well as random orbital motion, it may not be for everyone. I personally use the Flex just as much as my Rupes 15 and my Cyclo, but I've had a few friends try out the Flex and say it was more difficult for them to control. It does have a little more correcting power in my opinion, but the ease of use of something like the Rupes 15 or Cyclo is much more friendly on my body, while still getting just as great results.

The PC does have a good bit of vibration at higher speeds and will give your fingers and forearms a workout, but it is a workhorse...and the machine polisher that a lot of detailers start out with
  10. Dan@Adams's post in Metro Vacuum Rusting was marked as the answer
Hey Jason, do you have the part number for that Jumbo Vacuum or the order invoice from when you purchased it from us? Ben and I want to look into it for you and help you out. I can't find your account in our system. Thanks!
  11. Dan@Adams's post in Gen 3 Pads Question was marked as the answer
Hi Jack, the new Gen 5 pads have an improved high-grip Velcro backing for max adhesion to the machine and a firmer, neoprene mid-layer between the Velcro and the foam face for maximum mechanical movement from the polisher to the paint surface, which produces faster and better results.  The pads also have a center cooling hole and a flat foam face for stability.

There is nothing wrong with the older generation pads - they still work fantastic and I have a bunch in my arsenal...but the new pads are better! Hope that helps
