  1. I know this is an older thread but man... I miss Quick Sealant!
  2. I've been using graphene tire dressing and have been pleased with it... but as a previous original VRT lover, how does the new graphene VRT compare to the tire dressing? Is it product consistency? The appearance?
  3. That's a good tip, thanks! I hadn't thought to "prep" the driveway before hand but it makes sense.
  4. Not really a vehicle question, but... I wash my vehicles in the same spot on my driveway, and based on the stain locations, it's very clear that either my wheel cleaner or tire/rubber cleaner are staining the driveway. I've tried just blasting the stains off with a pressure washer and had no success. Any product you'd recommend? (The driveway is asphalt, and the stains are a contrasting light grey.)
  5. I recently bought a used ATS-V. I was happy with every aspect of the car except for the wheels. I used all of my Adam's wheel products and still had stains/water spots that wouldn't come off. I even tried some distilled white vinegar, and that didn't work either. Finally, I decided to use my drill with the Adam's mini pads and Adam's polish. I'm extremely happy with the results. Before and after pics attached!
  6. I apologize if this has been answered in the past... A few weeks ago I did a full detail on my '15 STI to include my first application of Adam's ceramic paint and trim coating. It's time for the first wash now though... Which car wash would be recommended, the shampoo or the wash & wax? I feel like my whole routine may be changing... I used to dry with detail spray and put on some Patriot Wax or use the H20 G&G to dry...
  7. I'm holding out for an Adam's solution... I bought the Flex from Adam's, because of their recommendations at the time. Kind of disappointed to come onto the site the other day looking to purchase new pads and not being able to.
  8. LOL - kind of funny that I don't have a pic in the avatar. Ok, two pics added.
  9. Yesterday evening I returned home from work to find a package from Adam's that I ordered as part of the Black Friday sale. It wasn't a large order by any means (just under $150 after my black Friday discounts), but imagine my surprise when I saw bottles, towels, and applicators that I had not ordered. Several years ago I mistakenly received someone else's order and thought this may have happened again... until when I went through the box and noticed things were marked "free product" and were actually listed on my invoice at $0.00. It sounds funny, but the items don't even appear random. It's like whoever put them in there looked at my order history and said, "Hmm, he's probably low on this. Let's throw that in there too." The way my luck normally is I will order gallon refills and a few days after placing my order they show up on the daily special. This was a very pleasant surprise. I just wanted to say "thank you" to the Adam's crew and a belated Happy Thanksgiving. Keep up the outstanding work. Shawn (Adam's loyal since 2008)
  10. I nearly made a similar mistake. While doing my paint correction, I was moving onto the fine machine polish. I put the white pad on my flex, put a few pea sized drops onto the pad... then sat there and looked at it for a second. It looked off to me for some reason. I picked up the bottle and realized I had just put SVRT onto the pad. Fortunately I didn't use it!
  11. A quick back story: My brother in law Frank is the singer for "The Streetlife Serenaders", an acoustic Billy Joel tribute band. I turned Frank on to Adam's products a few years ago, and help him out every summer when he does his paint correction. Two weekends ago he was playing at Ale Mary's in Scranton. I go to every show and he threw out a little surprise Adam's tribute in their rendition of Movin' Out (Anthony's Song). The sound quality is horrible because the place was packed, so you hear a lot of "atmosphere". I think this was recorded on my sister's phone as well, so it totally doesn't do them justice. Here's the clip on youtube for anyone interested: If you want to skip to the tribute, it's from about 2:00 - 2:12. And for those that want to know exactly what it is, the line was supposed to be "at least he can polish the fenders". Instead he sang, "at least Shawn can Adam's the fenders". Shameless plug: if you like Billy Joel and are in the Scranton area, they are playing at Dooley's Pub & Eatery this Saturday (3/7). Even though I'm just south of Baltimore, MD - I'll be there. Check out their page: http://www.facebook.com/streetlifeserenaders
  12. I haven't had any issues, and haven't had any engine work done unless you count regular maintenance. The only other thing done was the roof recall.
  13. Thanks Jeremy. I still think the hood looks awesome. I haven't painted it yet but was considering a few different ideas. What's sad is the last time the Z06 was driven, I didn't even drive it! I recently moved and a friend helped and moved the car for me. It was a rare opportunity for me to see it on the road; it looked incredible. I also had the lease on my daily driver end, so I have already purchased a replacement daily driver that is just fun enough I don't think I'll miss the Z06 too much.
  14. Thank you! I honestly felt like my price might have been a little on the high side, but that was probably me secretly wanting to keep the car... and wanting to leave some room for negotiation. I'm not sure I will ever own another black car either...
  15. Whoops, totally spaced on location. Sorry about that. If no offers come in I will keep the car and when the nicer weather hits... probably be happy I didn't sell it. The day I saw the new owner drive my 2002 Z06 drive away, I'm pretty sure a small part of me died.
  16. Thanks! Should I mention that since owning the car it has been meticulously cared for with Adam's products?
  17. Asking: $38,000 Location: Millersville, Maryland 1LZ 41441 miles Ebony/red interior I'm considering selling my Z06! My friends think I'm crazy, I don't know what to think. I don't drive the car nearly enough so I go through cycles of wanting to sell the car. Then a nice day comes along and I'll drive it and think "What am I thinking? I can't sell this." I regretted selling my 2002 Z06, but it went. Maybe it is time to sell my 2006. When I purchased the car used 5 years ago it had 21k miles. Fun extras I've added: -B&B Fusion Exhaust with Mild2Wild controller (you can run the exhaust in quiet or loud mode) -Halltech cold air induction -Lloyd floormats and rear deck mat. (The interior pic shows faded gray floor mats, they have been replaced with new black ones.) -Smoked Eagle Eye LED tail lights -Smoked corner lenses (not covers, the lenses themselves are smoked) -DSVettes steering wheel, center console lid, shift knob, shift boot, e-brake handle, and e-brake boot (ebony with red stitching) -Center console wrapped in leather with red stitching (still have core/stock console). -20% window tint -White gauges. -1 JL Audio 10" subwoofer with amp & stealthbox If you view the pictures, the car currently has the black wheels on it. I also have the chrome ones, and they'll go with the car - in addition to all of the other stock parts. I believe the only stock parts I don't have anymore are the air intake and the stock exhaust. If I have forgotten anything maybe it is my subconscious telling me to keep the car. Feel free to ask any questions.
  18. Ignore my question about pictures in my thread. Your GS looks awesome, and I actually like the hood you have! Definitely not a MUST replace unless you really want the ZR2 hood. Your hard work paid off!! Your car looks fantastic.
  19. Thank you for all the nice comments! LimitedDodge, you might want to place your order now so you don't miss out. I PMd Quik Z06 directly on the forum expressing my intent to buy. He sent me an invoice through paypal and I preordered. It took almost 3 months, but I'm glad I paid in advance and didn't have to worry about him being sold out. I know you mentioned you had purchased a different aftermarket hood from another member - any pics? The CF look is growing on me for sure. I
  20. I don't have any pictures of the process, but can tell you everything I used. I didn't switch to the Cyclo, I'm still a huge fan of my Flex, Porter Cable, and the 4" drill pads. Wheels & Tires -Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner -Adam's All Purpose Cleaner -Adam's new Tire Shine -Adam's Quick Sealant on the wheels Body -Adam's Car Shampoo (foam gun and 2 bucket method) -Adam's Clay Bar -Adam's Paint Correcting Polish (admittedly only used this on the fenders as the rest has been swirl free thanks to the good techniques I've learned from here over the years) -Adam's Paint Finishing Polish -I used a non Adam's product as a sealant (been testing it on my daily driver and recently applied it to the Z06) -Adam's Brilliant Glaze was my final step -Adam's SVRT and In & Out Spray on trim I'm always happy with the results but seldom take pictures. I took pictures this time because of the addition of the new hood. I still get questions at gas stations "Is that the new Corvette?" And finally an interior shot. My Lloyd's mats are pretty worn, so please excuse them.
  21. Here's a side pic of the hood before I detailed the car on Saturday... I didn't resize it. I'll post the rest of my pics in the Cars section.
  22. Here are a few more angles and an underhood shot. I would get more but it started raining!
  23. I plan on taking more pictures this weekend after the car has a fresh detail. I'll take various angles and underhood shots. I haven't given it the full inspection yet, but it appears to fit nicely - seems to go with the body, no unusual gaps or differing heights. The hood required holes to be cut in it in order to close (hooks/struts next to the bumpers near the windshield). It took the shop about an hour to do it. I was browsing the corvette forums and saw a picture of the hood and really liked how it looks. I ordered it back in July. It took longer than expected (through no fault of the vendor), but was well worth the wait. Now I'm debating keeping the stock hood since I know most buyers prefer the clean stock look... and I also have a nice Z06 hood liner that I can't use. First world problems.
  24. Thanks for the replies! The hood definitely looks better in person. I can't explain it, but the picture makes it look odd... almost like the pattern is too much for the camera to process. It looks like any other carbon fiber weave. I think I will leave it for at least a few weeks, but ultimately I am thinking I still want it painted. If there were just a few carbon fiber accents I think I would prefer that, but the entire hood in CF is just a bit overkill to me I suppose.
  25. I bought a ZR2 hood for my '06 Z06 and had it installed today... I have never been a fan of cars that have different colored or carbon fiber hoods, but didn't get this painted yet. I would like to get some feedback. Leave the carbon fiber showing, or paint it black to match?
