Great News everyone! @Chris@Adams was able to get through to our web developers and all issues appear to be resolved - big thanks to Chris, @GerryC, and @falcaineer for their help in this!

The security certificate has been fixed, and you should now be able to tag other screen names, react to posts, insert pictures, and so on. You may need to clear your cookie settings for this website, close and reopen your browser or tab, and then log back in, but the site is now secure again.

We are very sorry for the delay on this, and thank you for your patience. I'll post an announcement thread shortly with a contest giveaway too!

The forum software was updated about a week ago to a few minor versions above what the existing theme was built around, so there will likely be some visual issues while we try to sort them out. Anything you come across, just let us know here, and we will do our best to address them. Screenshots help a ton.

This forum update was more than just cosmetic changes.  The old forum ran on a version of the software that was very outdated, and was no longer being supported by the vendor.  As such, the update to the current version of the software was required to keep the forum up and running.  Thus, there is no "going back" to the old version.
This forum software is developed with certain features, and while there is some tweaking to the available features that can be done on the Admin side, we cannot add something that is not already a part of this version of the software, or turn a feature back on that was in the old version and not in this version.
While having things change is often not fun, and some of the new features take some getting used to, I think that some of the new features are very handy. Being able to finally use @mentions, being able to drag and drop photos on a computer, and being able to scan the Unread Content stream in expanded mode, make me glad to have this new version.
The Followers feature makes sense to me, since you can filter content to just those you follow, and get updates when the people that you follow post content.
 
 

Sorry it took so long to get to this - the red buttons across the top (except "Forum Home") should now open in a new tab.

We had to unexpectedly change the domain's DNS servers yesterday, which takes a little while to propagate. During that time the forum was unusable, but it appears to have finished. 

The upgrade is complete. Please use the Forum Support area to report any issues you may come across, and we will make efforts to address them. Please note that at first the forum may seem slow - this is due to a number of background processes (indexing, etc) that are still running, and should subside as the day progresses.

It seems this system has changed. Rather than converting the abbreviation to full text, it keeps the abbreviation but adds an html attribute (see the dotted underlines?) which allows you to hover over it and see the full text. Hover doesn't work on mobile, however, and I don't see a setting to revert to the previous behavior.

Which preview function are you referring to? Previewing your own post before submitting it? Previewing the first post of a topic without opening it? If it's either of these, check out the screenshots in this topic:

Sorry for the delay, everyone. We were going back and forth with the design team for a bit, but other obligations pulled me away from working on this. We just approved the design, so they should be moving forward with the upgrade soon.
 
We ended up going with a more modern take on the current skin in order to keep things somewhat similar and reduce any re-learning curve. I've attached a preview of it applied to their test forum. The final version may differ slightly and we will have the ability to make tweaks to it once the upgrade is complete.

Looks like they are aiming for Monday to do the upgrade.
 
From there we will see how the new theme reacts on different browsers and devices. It's likely that iPad bug is inherent to the current version since it's so old.
