  1. Gordon, feel free to give us a call. We have a mobile team based out of Denver that would be very happy to help. We have openings next week if the weather cooperates. Hopefully the temperatures will be higher soon. Sub zero temps and polishing outside is, well it sucks. LOL. www.highpointdetailing.com
  2. You guys are awesome. I cannot properly or adequately express out appreciation for the support of all of you in our little family of Adam's Polishes fans. We only have 24 hours left. Whatever the outcome, we are grateful for your support. If you have 2 seconds, please support your local Adam's Polishes dealer operated and staffed by former Adam's employees. http://denveralist.cityvoter.com/oxotic-detail-studio/biz/680036
  3. In deed you can Jim. The reason the votes are at less than 500 for most is that you are only allowed to vote once PER EMAIL ADDRESS. So most people log in with fb and vote and that is it. Done. This way you don't have the same people voting over and over again skewing the results. Winning this is not only a feather in my cap but it really helps drive traffic to our website and gain some SEO standings. That is really what it means to us. Just competing has already allowed us to add a staff member with the increased traffic flow and sales. I want to add another team member but for that we need more revenue. This contest helps me meet those goals by reaching more potential clients. It is not all about winning a popularity contest, but about growing a business and creating more jobs. And buying more Adam's Products to put in the hands of insane people like us. Thanks everyone for you support. I cannot express how much it means to us.
  4. Well shine freaks, a little update and thanks. We are in the last week of this contest and I want to thank everyone who voted for us. Being as it is the last week we can no longer see the standings. Running totally blind. This is our final push. At last check we were only a dozen or so votes behind the leader. So if you have 2 minutes you can log in with a facebook log in and vote to support a local Adam's distributer get a little more recognition and help get some more Adam's products in hands and on some cars. Thanks again everyone for you support. http://denveralist.cityvoter.com/oxotic-detail-studio/biz/680036 dp
  5. Also, replace your cabin air filter. It traps all kinds of smells.
  6. Here is what we do for our clients and has been recommended on the forums for years by other pro detailers. 1st layer is either Quick Sealant or Paint Sealant (Or Machine Super Sealant if you still have any). This is you base coat. Then add a layer of Buttery Wax or Americana. Then spray Quick Sealant on the leading edges of your car. Here is the reason why. You first layer of sealant will bond to the finish of your car and be your primary means of protecting your paint. The second layer of wax applied to the first layer of sealant will give you more shine and depth and act as a second layer of protection. Now here is the fun part. The top layer of Quick Sealant will not bond properly to the wax, and this is what we want. As you take hits by bugs and debris on your trip they will hit that top layer of QS. When you wash your car at your destination the bugs should come off easily along with the top layer of QS. It is a sacrificial barrier. Once clean, respray with QS for your trip home. Also make sure you are applying Glass Sealant. This will help with cleaning your windshield. Hope this helps.
  7. Try using a yellow foam pad with fine machine or paint correcting polish and use 3-4 squirts of Detail Spray and step down to about 4200 OPMs. You may need to "half step" it. A stiffer pad combined with a finer polish may give you better results. The extra detail spray will add a bit more lubrication. This method has work for me on many many vehicles. Also, make sure you are removing any residue from the pad. After you cause the polish to flash, spray the pad down with detail spray and wipe clean with a utility MF towel.
  8. Amazing video. Well done!!! I have a new (delivered and picked up from Purifoy on Saturday) C7 coming in the shop tomorrow. You're welcome to stop by and bring some new tire shine with you. :-)
  9. No worries Rich. That is the main reason I kinda have to cast a wide net to get folks to vote. But I have never gotten any spam from this. Maybe I am an anomaly.
  10. Don't hate. These two were hands down the coolest, most polite and down to earth people at the event. Seriously stand up folks. They were flashy, a little weird, and gawdy but this is an event where that kind of this gets attention for the Team and that attention means more donations for the charity.
  11. It is the time of year where I beseech you, the Adam's Forum members to take a moment and help out one of your own. This last year has seen huge changes to my little mobile detailing operation as we opened up a new shop inside of the Unser Racing facility in Denver, we have hired more workers, and our operation has more than tripled in the last 4 months. It has been a lot of hard work and a lot of lost sleep. We want more of that. Last November High Point Detailing teamed up with Oxotic Driving Experience to open the Oxotic Detail Studio. Now that we have a storefront we are eligible to compete in the Denver A list competition. I am asking for your help to take a moment to give us a vote. It would be great if we could win our first year competing and give our small business a boost so that we can buy more Adam's products, work on more cars, and hire more people. Only one vote per email address is allowed to, yes you have to register. I'm sorry. http://denveralist.cityvoter.com/oxotic-detail-studio/biz/680036?r=short And if you want to see what the pros can do with Adam's Polishes products, check out our facebook page and give that a like to. We will also be posting updates on how the contest is going there too. https://www.facebook.com/oxoticdetailstudio Thanks in advance to everyone. We appreciate your support. Dave "dipolley" Polley
  12. That was too much fun. So glad I could tag along and help work on the cars during the Denver event. It was great hanging out with the Adam's Team. I miss hanging out with you guys. We are looking forward to next year. One of our staff here at the shop is one of the Gold Rush volunteers who is now on her way home from a very very long adventure. So when we find out more about next year, I'll let you know.
  13. I used Wix to build my site. Once you play with it and learn it then you should have no problems building a great site. You don't have to know code or even be a webmaster. Just remember to put your SEO information in. I have gotten jobs purely on having a great website. We don't rank high on Google or Bing to be up at the top, but having a great site brings in customers and keeps them engaged. www.highpointdetailing.com For payments we use Square. So far no complaints. Money is in my checking account the next business day. Same with our Chase on-line. We deposit checks as soon as we get them and we typically have them the next business day.
  14. Looking forward to it. We will be there. As long as there are no bees.
  15. They are "pushing paper" on you. Basically they know that their paint protection is only worth the paper the warranty is written on. You buy this for $300+ and they say if you have issues bring it back. 98% of people will never bring it back. That is where they are making their money. Skip it. It is never worth it. There are far better products out there that you can put on yourself.
  16. I happen to have a fairly, heavily modified 08 Sky Redline. First off, don't even think of buying it if it is not a Redline edition. The performance is far superior and the gas mileage is much much better. Check out skyroadster.com for a great forum. DDMworks has great mod part available for you. And the GMPP tune is great. My mods so far: Dejon Cold air intake and IC piping. (dejon is no longer in business) Replaced blown intercooler (Called a "charged air cooler" by GM), Cone filter. Flowmaster custom exhaust. RK sport hood and body kit. GMPP tune. Relocated HKS BOV, and a few other items. And some cosmetic mods. I am running under 14 second 1/4 mile times at 5800' in altitude.
  17. Thanks for the update and insight Adam. As those of us who run businesses know, supplier issues can be extremely frustrating, especially when you have been given a promise and then make a promise to your valued customers based on what you were told. It is great to see you are finding solutions and going around that wall instead of beating your head against it (a saying you personally taught me). Let me know if you need any local testing of any of the new products/tools. We are hitting 30-40 vehicles a week from $2000 junkers to $300,000 exotics currently. Oh and there is a bar upstairs in our building, so I am sure there is a beer or wine that will suit you. :-) Call me if you want to stop by. I'll leave the dome light on for you. dipolley
  18. I second peanut butter. A quicker way to freeze it is take a can of compressed air and spray with the can upside down. Then try some APC diluted 50/50 to get any stragglers.
  19. Please. We have two Flex's in the shop that will still need pads.
  20. Just a quick tip, if you are not sure or if it is a bigger item look up the parts you plan on debadging and make sure there is no hole behind it. If you don't do this, you're gonna have a bad time. Oh and 20-pound test fishing line wrapped round a couple of pencils can help get badges off after you heat them up. Just get it under the badge and move it in a sawing motion. It takes time but is fairly safe from causing damage to the paint below. Anything left can be removed with a little heat and APC.
  21. Here is a picture of Flacco (Chris), Mario, and Jean at the 2012 Vettes on the Rockies. I think Mario left for other opportunities shorty after this.
  22. You may also want to avoid any dressing of the trim. And avoid using In and Out spray or any other product that is aerosolized. When applying you may miss and get some on the paint. Polymers (especially silicone) will surely cause some issues.
  23. That is great. I have only watched the show rarely. I love the concept. Good luck to her and I am sure the entire Adam's community will be cheering her on. She will do well as she polishes her talents and voice in the weeks to come. (see what I did there, lol).
  24. Nick, I am impressed that the list was alphabetical. Flaco is definitely a wizard. His magical potion is in the form of mints.
  25. Shhhhh. Don't tell him. LOL Funny thing is that the original video was about 4 minutes long waiting to warm her up. And this isn't even over 3,500 rpms. When you stick a mic less than 2 feet away it is still loud. I was afraid if I let it rip; I would have knocked over the camera. Well you guys should stop by my shop next time you are in Denver. I am only 10 minutes from Adam's HQ inside Unser Racing. We have this 458, a Gallardo Superleggera, and a McLaren MP4 in the shop pretty much always.
