Fire Hose Nozzle 'Self Adjust' Fix
Chobbs replied to Team Adam's's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
I have the exact same problem! and have tried the "fix". it has not worked for me. I ended up buying a Home depot sprayer to rectify the issue. I know the quality of the home depot sprayer is not good, but while it works it is much easier for me to wash with than the firehose nozzle. this is the only product that I have had an issue with. everything else that I have purchased from Adams has been spot on! -

I'll give it a try! Thanks for the replies! -
Car shampoo, fire nozzle & professional pad review
Chobbs replied to Captain Slow's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
sorry to say, but, I am not a fan (at all) of the firehose nozzle. I've had one for a few months now and I do not like it. the adjustable stream adjusts itself (keeps going from a spray to a stream on it's own). it is difficult to make adjustments (it requires two hands to adjust, probably because the adams hose connection has a swivel on it too) and the least bothersome thing is the shape, it is much easier to hold onto a handled sprayer rather than the nozzle. I love most of adams products but this one is a huge "missed the mark" for me. -
thanks for the tips but since I have the de-ionizer and the master blaster, i no longer need to put a drying towel to my paint. spot free car wash every time! but the tips you mentioned are the steps I used to have to go through before i got the master-blaster. so it is still good info!

I bought one a few months back! love it! in conjunction with the CR spotless water de-ionizer, i rarely have to touch the car with a towel anymore!
-
Oh. Blow dryin the car is a good way to go:)

Guys! (N gals) I just purchased the AF Master Blaster! That thing rocks!! It cut my drying time way way WAY down and I never touched the finish with a drying towel. I also got the 75ft hose kit with all the bells and whistles. Don't think I will ever have to buy another hose. Along with the CR spotless water de-ionizer (which I had bought a while ago), these things really make washing the car here in Vegas a snap! Thanks to adams, my almost three year old Camaro looks great!! I just had to post how happy I am with my new toys!!!

Washed my Camaro and dried it with my new AF Master Blaster!! Holy moly! That is one heck of a blower! Sooooo glad I finally pulled the trigger and dropped the dough for that!

Dylan's 3 Bucket Wash Video - Uncut.
Chobbs replied to Team Adam's's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
I noticed that when you finished with the wash and right before you rinsed you gave the truck another shot with the foam gun. why? is that just to get the dry soap wet again??? -
Costco water de-ionizer / purifier
Chobbs replied to Gone in 60's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
I have the CR-spotless kit. It works. I've had it for couple of years now. I will not clean my car without it. -
That's what I have been saying! It's expensive but gol-durn-it! IT WORKS!

Glad y'all found the CR spotless system. It has been a few years since I bought mine and I am still using it to rinse my car! I love this thing!! I am getting ready to buy the AF master blaster this week. Used in conjunction with the cr spotless water system should make summer washing a snap!

any solutions for wasted product with foaming sprayers??
Chobbs replied to hemi1300's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I refuse to use the foaming sprayer because of this very complaint. The regular sprayer is good enough for me. -
Did a full blown detail on "blue steel"(my camaro) SHR FMP Americana Strip Washed and Clayed yesterday.

APC will dissolve the clay

Today hung Christmas lights for my mom, taught a handstand class, and strip washed, Clayed and taped up my car in preparation for tomorrow's polishing. This weekend is going to be the last warm weekend!

It seems they have most of the liquid products. I do not think they carry buckets and hose fittings and turbo sticks and stuff like that. But I think they have towels???

What your weakest detailing skill?
Chobbs replied to Marylander's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I don't particularly like taping off the cracks and trim. I always mess it up somehow??? And the tape never sticks very well to the trim (damn you VRT!) and the line of leftover product that has to be removed AFTER you remove the tape drives me crazy! I'm afraid I'll add some micro Scratches to the finish while rubbing that off. -
I, too, keep the red caps. Not sure if it is true or not but I feel it seals the container better than just the screw cap, preventing evaporation of water from the product. But, I must say, I don't have any issues getting the caps out.

Welcome! Good to have fellow las vegans here on this site. I have been using adams on my camaro for two years. Love the stuff. I usually order straight from the site but there is one place that I found here in Vegas that carries adams. It called "Mutt n Jeff's". If I just have to have something today, I go there. Happy detailing!

Bummed out! Getting some scratches
Chobbs replied to Odiesback's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I would recommend getting a machine. The hand polishing is too much work for so so results. -
Bummed out! Getting some scratches
Chobbs replied to Odiesback's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Possibly from claying. If I am going to clay the car I also plan to polish it to remove any marring from the claying process that is so common. (revive polish won't cut it) Also like others have said, no matter what, the swirls will return. The two bucket system only reduces the swirling to a minimum, it does not eliminate it completely. My advice is get a kit for polishing with the more aggressive polishes for your new cars. It will not go unused! -
A friendly reminder...
Chobbs replied to Team Adam's's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
What an interesting thread! I also was able to read most of the other thread that everyone keeps referring to. And I think a large part of the misunderstanding here is..."what is 'Adams forums'?". Once that is defined (I believe it has already been defined) and everyone understands what it is, THEN everyone can discuss the rules in an informed manner always keeping in mind what this forum is. The owner is the one that define what the forum is. Just because a member feels that it has grown into "more than that", does not mean that the forums purpose has actually been redefined. One can contact the owner and/or the moderators to discuss changing its meaning and purpose. But ultimately, it is the owner of the forum that will make the decision. And just because "other personal topics" are allowed does not mean the actual purpose of the forum has changed. It means the owner is allowing some latitude on what is discussed that does not conflict with the original purpose. A "perk" if you will. Recently, I wanted to post something in the lounge section that was near and dear to my heart and I felt it needed to be heard by all. It was deleted and I was contracted right away and was schooled on the purpose of the forum. I was also apologized to. But the rules were the rules and my post would have detracted from the overall purpose of the forum. I understand that and feel that the moderators and the owner are doing a great job of keeping this forum on track. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Strip or not to strip! That is the question?
Chobbs replied to Green Machine's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
It will clog your pads making them less effective and extending your polishing time. It is best to strip off old waxes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What's the best inspection tool?
Chobbs replied to Adamized's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I love fenix flashlights. I bought the whole crew where I work the tk15's. Best flashlight I have ever used. Back to the question. It's interesting because some things that show up in the sun won't show in artificial lights. And vice versa. Just after my last full detail, which looked awesome in the sun, I found some light micro-scratches when I parked my car under a parking lot lamp. I was shocked! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
