  1. HECK YEAH SON!!!! Another Lexus guy finally!! Thought I was the only one there for a awhile! lol! Oh the L looks awesome by the way!! More pics!!
  2. Since I'm always late to the party my timing on this thread is fitting I haven't known Chase for very long, little over 2 years, I'd never talked to him before he interviewed me (which I gave very poor interview haha). Chase took the chance on me and from where I was THEN to where I am NOW is literally Night and Day and that's largely because of his Passion, Excitement, Influence, and Teaching ability! He's helped get me to where I am and helped get me to where I'm going. Not to mention he introduced me to Adams Polishes In those 2 short years I can honestly call him one of my CLOSEST friends, if not THE closest friend I have.... Friendship aside, if ANYONE EEEEEVVER was to build a business from scratch and build it to the level of the one he built and left..its Chase! Wishing ALL the best for ya buddy! Love ya man! Oh...and when you're ready, I'm ready ....we need to have a small talk about that btw
  3. As far as I know, and I'm not an expert, but as far as I know there is no magic coating to prevent scratches or swirls on any car surface. Ya know besides parking it in a sealed climate controlled space and never driving the thing lol! Then whats the point of a car:lolsmack: Proper wash technique is key to getting a swirlless finish but even then you're gonna have a minor scratch or two ...life man! No magic just hard work and dedication to the shine and look of your ride. Maybe someday...but I'll be one still cruising in a 40yr old car that runs on this thing called gasoline and yea I'll have to polish it once in a while lol. Sounds like bs to me

    Feels Nice!!

It feels really nice to be back!! I've sorta had my focus and attention on other stuff lately so I really haven't been on the forums in...a few months to be honest. Even had a good friend ask me "where I've been" lol! Well between my career which I've started putting more focus in, still detailing other peoples cars on the side, family, women (Lord knows I love em), Dad's new house, me trying to find a house, the gym...I don't know, somewhere getting on the forums and checking out other peoples results and doing some self education on detailing just got lost in the mix I guess. But it feels really good to be back browsing at others success (and pics) and commenting. Truth be told I missed you guys!! Hope ya'll won't send me into exile!

    Don't lie...

Yup!! Right there! This is wow crazy I am...Adams towels only paint and if they hit the ground they then fall into the next category, "Dirty Job" towels old low grade auto store kind, some for windows, some for "light" engine etc and to think I used to use these on my paint!! Oh the times they are a changin'! Then there's the terry cloth towels I use for the really bad stuff (mainly customers) greasy engines etc for the cleaning part of the detail...and they're good for wiping my hands after an oil change or whatever (don't like things on my hands for some reason haha)
  7. I'm sticking to my opinion I stated earlier. If its savable then restore it, if it's not then hot rod the heck out of it!! And mainly that's what the guys at Gas Monkey on Fast N' Loud does. Most of the cars featured aren't what I call savable from a business perspective, you'd end up sinking more money into the restoration to original specs than you would turn a profit....so they go a hot rodding route. So what? Do you (anyone) keep their car 100% oem stock?? No you don't...you add exhausts, intake manifolds etc. So to expect a a show about buying a junker and fixing it up to turn some kind of profit on by restoring it completely while you yourself modify your vehicle to your liking in my opinion is very unrealistic and founded in idealism and not the greatest business decision. How many cars at a show do we all go to that's had a repaint to a different color? A different motor, often from a different make entirely?? How many quote "mods" have been done to your personal vehicle? To each his own, both are good car shows and I for one am glad I have options for my car show viewing as I currently don't have HDNET or Velocity or whatever they're calling it now. As I said I love hot rods and hot rodding not cookie cutter Civics (no offense to any Civic owners). That said my all time favorite car shows besides the UKs Top Gear has to be Chasing Classic Cars love the oldies they pull out of the barns and garages and love that they fully restore them to all their former glory. Real time capsules and makes me sad I missed those times of what I think was the golden age of Americana (not the wax)
  8. I gotta say I'm LOVING 'Fast N' Loud' but not really feeling 'Counting Cars' ...been watching both since the first episode. I'm not sure if its the projects/style/humor of Fast N' Loud and Richard and Arron (Major beard envy on my part ) but I just love that show!!! I'm of the mind that if its savable and can be restored it should be to OEM specs, but I also just love the "taking one mans pride and joy jacking it all up and doing a burn out in it" lol!! I think that's why I favor Fast N' Loud over Counting Cars. The guys at Gas Monkey embody what hot rodding is all about FUNNNN!!!!!!!! Where as it seems Count's Kustoms is more in it for the money and profit. Don't get me wrong BOTH are business' both are about making money, which there's no harm in doing! BUT it is at least portrayed like the guys at Gas Monkey love building the cars and having fun with them as much as they like making money. A business is a business but I'm one who wishes he was alive in the 40's and 50's when that scene really started taking off. Hot rodding and just about any car is about fun above all else!
  9. My 2 favorite shots...besides the ones where you're "Buckled out" Man we may have to call on this guy again, after I find a house, if we go through with what we've "semi talked about and toyed with", I got 2 years to achieve that goal of building one That is a true talent right there!! I've never known anything about photography but I know to make shots like that with just some light and few lenses is SICK! I hate to brag but....ah who are we kidding I love to brag!!! But guys let me tell you there is NO picture or photo that can do this car justice, I've been lucky enough to see that thing up close and Chases car is beyond sick!! The creativity, forethought, and vision needed to get it just to this point (cause ya know it never ends lol) was executed brilliantly. I say all this and I'm not even remotely a muscle car guy or even a "new" car guy but much respect to take something factory and make a personal dream a reality!
  10. I know I'm WAY WAY late on this man, and I'm sorry, ya know my mind has been in other places recently and haven't even gotten on the forums. However I wanted to say that today, leaving work walking to my car I was checking yours out while it was dropped and laid on the ground and...the new suspension setup you got combined with the natural lines of the car PLUS (what I think is one of the best mods you've done) that totally custom rear built in spoiler; MAN it looks like a freakin snake about to strike!!!! I'm serious man! Normally the bagged thing is very much, to me, a luxury deal meant for the "VIP Styled" cars or some "kustoms/lead-sleds" BUT on YOURS it just looks even meaner...like from behind its just sitting coiled up ready to launch!! Love it buddy! Great vision and forethought gone into that beast for sure!
  11. Being a "science nerd" I don't fully grasp all that goes into these projects or the physics behind it (always a problem for me college wise). But the importance of these "new" missions and of the utmost, just like that if the first and subsequent moon landings...what did we learn? A whole lot! What do we not know? Even more!!! The reason is curiosity...gaining and understanding of knowledge, leaps forward require small steps first and one day we will send man to that red planet, perhaps terriform it. Make it habitable once again and start a new world...in a way it's our ultimate destiny (no not that dancer you met that one time lol) but our cultural and biological destiny to go elsewhere and explore/ ravenge, depending on your own particular perspective that is....I'm all for the space program, I think it deserves more funding, my first word as a child wasnt "mommy" or "daddy" mind was "oon" was trying to say moon haha. The world is an ever shrinking place and we need space (no pun intended) we need to explore its in our genes, however it's also in our genes, I believe, to behave more like a virus than a species. We consume EVERYTHING and replinsh almost nothing we are, until we change..again, an epidemic to the world and a virus that sucks the life out of its host. And what's a virus do? It spreads..it's our nature as a people. I believe we will reach great heights and do great things but as with anything the temptation of power and the lust for more, if not controlled by reason and a 'for the good of all people' mentality is not upheld, which I think NASA does very well, then we are all stagnant fish in a very small pond
  12. Got 2 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch P2 12's mounted in a box for sale Asking $110 plus shipping...the company and store I work for gets us a discount on the shipping charge so that will help. Just send me the address and I can get you a quote. I doubt it'd be more than $20 but that's just a guess depending on how far you are from AL. Good subs weren't abused I just have no need for them or the box, they work and sound great..just take up too much space for my application
  13. Haven't clayed yet that's today along with some polishing. Thanks Mook! It's pretty humid and muggy down here right now as you said maybe that played a factor
  14. Okay...I'm by NO means a financial expert BUT...to be 26 yrs old..I find myself when I look at my peers to be doing quite well comparatively. So I'll say this..START YOUNG!!!! Apply for a credit card, "shop around" so to speak find the one that will give you the highest credit line starting out as well as the lowest interest rate...but that's gonna be sky high no matter what! Also see what the companies no interest for x amount of months is...credit usually takes a while to build..HOWEVER..what MOST don't realize is that your credit score is your COMBINED credit at the time it's assessed!! SO you can open a line of credit for several months then open another..and another...so long as you pay IN FULL the amount you charge to it by the end of the month. But as stated by ChargerMatt..if paid off too soon it's of no gain..so what I mean is open ONE line of credit allow a few months to build your credit up then apply for another line of credit..etc etc..it's all about how you work the system and having self control, don't dig yourself in a ditch.....It's also a smart idea to start saving and I mean SAVING some real $$$$ open yourself an IRA, you'll be thanking yourself later that you did..look into stocks if thats an option for you. I started out with $300 in my savings and a $100 loan from my mother to play around with the stock market....I've since gained a LOT LOT more and opened an IRA and my credit score is very good compared to the avg of my peers..currently I'm looking for a house and can afford 20k-40k MORE than what I would've thought, all because I was more careful and smart about how I spent my money and what I did with it...money/credit is great as long as you don't abuse it..If you do, and it's easy to at a young age, you can get yourself in a bind VERY quickly
  15. So to preface; since my IS300 was corrected by me and SRTLUVR (who is also the man that introduced me to Adams) the IS hasn't been strip washed..till now. When we did the correction we followed with Americana and continued using waterless wash every other time I drove the car until....maybe 2 months later I Waterless washed it and did an IPA wipedown followed by some MSS...after full cure time I went with some QS, then BG, then Americana...overkill?? YES I think so...paranoid? Absolutely!! My history with the car since has been waterless wash followed with DS about every other time I drive the car, which is once maybe twice a week, wheels are included in that. The car has seen rain twice since...once going to the sound shop, but was 2 bucket washed right after. Which leads me to the second time its been caught in the rain....LAST Monday I had to drive to the hillbilly state MS 3.5hr drive after work to move my sister who's getting her masters degree..well it rained that night/ Tuesday for about half the day...I cringed the ENTIRE time knowing what was going to happen!!! DIRTY DIRTY CAR!! Got home late Tuesday night and was worn out, had to prepare for a full work week including tax-free weekend. I planned to do a strip wash next Tuesday (my next off day) seemed enough time had passed figured why not especially since it was trashed according to my standards... Long story short, I decided to go ahead and strip wash it TONIGHT in the dark with my halogens as light so I'd avoid the heat and reduce potential water spots. 2 Bucket wash 4 oz of car shampoo maybe 3oz of APC..wash, rinse..pool rinse and then I go to dry it all off and pull it back in for clay and FMP polish, and sealant tomorrow...then this happened.......As I'm drying the car quickly but effectively I accidentally hit the wiper blades...water of course hits the hood and...it beads. Now my head is scratching..so curiosity takes control, I turn my water back on and hit the hood with it....STILL beading!! I know that claying and polishing will take away any left over sealant or wax however... I can't help but think...what am I missing here??? Did I NOT add enough APC?? Or does the MSS require 2 apps of APC to be completely diluted and gotten rid of? Really scratching my head here...
  16. I fell ya buddy! You're gonna laugh but I put some SVRT on the vans tires since they're so bad and dry and I swear it took 3 coats to get them to turn black..it just soaked the first 2 coats up completely!! The Lexus got rained on BIG TIME last night/this morning it looks trashed right now...next Tuesday I'm gonna do a good 2 bucket strip wash and go over it with some FMP, pull the wheels (need to be rotated anyway) and clay the face as well as the barrels and seal everything again
  17. Brendon go with the Jeep man...just my opinion..any bmw gets a big red X for me...however I do like Audi Chase buddy looking good! Not that it didn't look good before lol!! I know the MSS takes longer to apply but man just the piece of mind it brings is worth the little extra time, and it beads better than QS, to me at least. But DUDE...if I were you I'd cover that spare in SVRT!! Heck my spare is and you can't even see it!!! Lookin nice though buddy! You're paint on all your cars makes my 11yr old paint jealous!
  18. right on man!!! Only time my clay has ever looked like that was with my uncles black work truck/ daily driver that had been detailed by a "professional" before...yea...haha seriously, I'm with ya man cause after one panel and multiple flips and kneading it still looked like that!! Destroyed a piece of clay, I refuse to use something like that even for wheels! Nice turn around buddy!
  19. Sorry to hear about the troubled times you two are having....keep your head up! I'm not gonna say don't stress about it cause obviously ya'll are..but try not to, too much Look, people have been able to do this for thousands of years, it'll happen!!! I don't have kids...nor do I want any anytime soon (okay okay maybe like 2% of me does) that's probably my biggest fear at this point. Don't get wrong a child brings SO much joy and happiness and meaning to ones life; just from reading your posts I can tell you both will be great parents Everything has an odd way of working it self out so long as you don't lose hope! Wishing you both all the best!! ....Look on the bright side...at least ya get to "practice" more
