  3. thanks guys! Can't say I didn't enjoy working on it Hopefully it will lead to some other higher end work
  4. Hello! This is my re-introduction to the forum and Adam's world! I recently got back from college and am looking to get back into detailing on the side. Initially I was not going to detail (except for mine, friends, and family) anymore, but when I get an email asking me to come down and detail this, how could I say no? The car was in great shape, all I needed to do was strip wash, clay, 1-2 passes of FMP, glaze, and Americana. SO, here are the finals!
  5. So jealous!! I'd kill for one right now. It's kind of my dream-car-on-a-budget right now Come back with a full review please!
  6. Plastidip! I think some people here know how adamant I am on the stuff. Ive done 25+ cars. Everything from wheels, emblems, trim, you name it. On emblems, be light. Light coats is key. If you don't, it will bubble and look terrible in the end. So take it slow and have fun. It comes off easily if you mess up!
  7. Looks good! I bet the neighbors thought you looked crazy!
  8. Looks awesome! Nice job:thumbsup:
  9. Nice! Looks great! I got my mom hooked on carpet cleaner haha
  10. Search function bro! Haha but no. Do not use. You'll find a dozen threads about how CA dusters are your finish's are you worst nightmare. I use to use it before I corrected my paint and then proceeded to use it after. The first time I used it after correcting my paint it was in the trash. I had to recorrect the next weekend
  11. I believe they are in stores, but probably not in stock to buy. I'm going tomorrow to compare so I'll be back here and post my results.
  12. Someone's a little jealous. I kid haha It's a $30+ speck case, but I got it off amazon for cheap.
  13. Alright, here is my entry for the Detail Something Different competition. I have an absolutely thrashed iPad case that I got off amazon for $2. it didn't come to me in the best shape and I'm sure I have made it worse over the months. This also shows you what the normal wear of the back of your electronics go through without a case. On to the detail! Process: Waterless Wash Wipe Down Clay with Detail Spray 5+ passes of Severe Swirl Remover 10+ passes of SHR 5+ passes of FMP Brilliant Glaze Americana Picture Time: Before pictures. This thing was trashed FMP After 5 passes of FMP It looked better, but was still not even close, so I stepped it up to SHR, then immediately followed with SSR. Here is a few passes of SSR. This is my time saving way of showing pictures. This is passes 10- 20+, it is a gif of every other pass I made. Didn't want to post up all of the pictures of barely improving. http://picasion.com I was about to give up... so I just decided to finish up with FMP and call it a day... Here is the result after 5 more passes of FMP Brilliant Glaze in action Americana in Action After Shots! Dylan Shot: Thanks for looking! I had a blast doing this (even as frustrating as it was)
  14. Thanks for the responses guys! It definitely pops! And it hides imperfections fairly well which has its ups and downs. Silver would be second choice if it wasn't for my favoritism for black I was so surprised to get this on silver! And that wet look around the fenders and quarters was insane. Adams impresses me with every use!
  15. This belongs to my dad. It was his birthday in early June and now it is father's day, so i decided to combine them while he was on a business trip and here is his present. A freshly detailed ride to come home to. My process was as followed. 2 Bucket strip wash - Adams shampoo with All Purpose Cleaner Clay with Detail Spray 1 pass Fine Machine Polish Machine Super sealant with a 18 hour cure Brilliant Glaze 2 layers of Americana Dressed up tires, trim, wheel wells - In & Out spray, SVRT Here are the pictures! Let me start with a bit of good news! this is my old light setup Here is my new one!! Now to the car The car has never been clayed before and it was obvious These are some after clay and one pass of FMP Sparkle brought back to full attention A minor scratch removal Before: After: (barely noticeable, almost impossible to get this shot) Taillights polished: Machine Super Sealant in Progress: After 18 hour cure: Brilliant Glaze in action: Sadly no pics of the americana in action, but i do have afters! After Americana: SVRT 50/50: SVRT on right Full Coverage: Exhaust Cleanup with ALL Purpose Cleaner: (sadly no metal polish yet) Before: After: And Finally, Full Shots in the Sun: Dylan Shot: You can see my white wheels in this one, my car is 15 ft. away. Thanks for viewing!
  16. Ohh okay. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you!
  17. Here's the link to the geek bench article. Benchmarks for Mid-2012 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air - Mac Rumors
  18. This. I'm going to wait until I compare the MacBooks side by side but like you said, I can notice the obvious difference with comparing iPhones with and without retina displays. It is clear which is better. Photography is my hobby (when I'm not detailing). And this screen should be the best addition to that hobby. If the screen is as great as they say, then it is a no brainer. I'm in. This is also going to be my computer for college though. So the power has to be there. The specs are also nice. I like the stock SSD. This means fast access which I also like when dealing with photos and videos. The 8gb of ram, upgradable to 16 is unbelievable! I have 1gb now and 8 or even 16 times that is mind blowing to me. So that side has won me over. BUT! The geek bench scores are scaring me. They are lower for the retina than just standard mid-2012 MacBooks. This worries me. I need to find an analysis of this because why would their flagship laptop score lower than the standard? Overall, I'm impressed. I think they could have done more and been a little more extreme, but judging on what they have put out, it's much better than previous years upgrades so at least they are advancing. I was hoping for a iPhone 3G to iPhone 4 type of redesign, but oh well.
  19. This is great! I can see this coming in handy to win over some potential clients in a parking lot or something
  20. 19838646299 times better!!! Are they CSL's? They look awesome!!
  21. Wow that's pretty! Nice job! Did you get to drive it or hear it startup at all?
  22. Looks awesome to me! Great job! The one with the trees overhanging is amazing!
  23. Wow! Beautiful! I love when you get those, for lack of a better word, sparkle spots hahaha
