Adam's business model according to a 9 year old
camaro replied to camaro's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Haha, yes and I have read that epic here in the forums. One of the greats really. You've got the Mahabharata, the Iliad/Odyssey and the Adam's Story: Early days. -
Doing the weekly 2 bucket wash, this time with my visiting 9 y/o nephew. After what felt like a 1,000 point Q&A session while showing Tommy how to properly use products like car shampoo, under carriage spray, quick sealant & detail spray (some of the strongest smelling stuff) he says, "Here is what I think about the Adam's stuff: I like that they sell good stuff. Like when you wash your car, it gets REALLY shiny again. But most of all, I think they should re-name themselves to the Flavor Company. I could fall asleep smelling the detail spray."

good to know! thanks man:hi:

My uncle visited from out of town with his DD. I surprised him with a hit of the 3 step polish followed by BG and quick sealant for a happy (less bug-guts filled) ride back. BEFORE AFTER

i WISH that was the case

Thanks for all the advice guys. We have a shared driveway. Although the kids were warned many times before not to play by the Camaro, they don't listen. The parents have suggested they can help i.e. they know a guy who has paint and can do cars....you can imagine how strong my, "no thanks" was to that. I cannot judge others' parenting but the kids were out again the very next day, albeit a few yards away from the now mended Camaro. They have been stiffing the land-lord 6 months on parking (their vehicle is a rust bucket & can't be moved). They are on government assistance & have no credit, no insurance etc. The land-lord already told me not to waste my time with these people and offered his sympathy for the damage. I was offered a different parking space along the driveway but it makes no difference.

I appreciate the advice!

@Savi01 - the kids will be kids I guess. It's the cost of having nice things

Yes - I bought my touch-up pen+brush while on a service visit at the dealer. It was $18.

To my dismay, I walked up to find my baby loaded with scratches and dents yesterday morning. The neighbor children were riding their Razor® scooters down the driveway & using my camaro as their marker for the end of the race. I guess they hadn't realized what they were doing but dear god - they got every pannel, save the roof & pilars. The Razor® scooters are aluminum & the camaro is famous for sensitive/bad paint. I got a quote for professional repair of $3,000 (apparently the tri-coat paint is $500 alone). The family is a low-income family and there is no way I am even seeing $3 much less any help with covering the deductible on an insurance claim this large. (advice?) I did what I could. Upper front fascia: Lower front fascia: and this guy goes all along the door right to the back: A little Adam's elbow-grease masked the damage. For the deeper scratches I had to use another brand's heavier compound & follow with the Adam's treatment*. Finally, I hit the still visible spots with GM touch up paint. The damage I could not fix were the dents and impressions. The car has never been paint corrected but I assume when I get it back from the shop I will have to do it. Today, I strip washed with Dawn, clay bar & then moved to the Adam's restorative products. *I focused only on the scratched areas using the 4" pads. Also, I ran out of day-light so I only got to apply severe swirl and haze. To protect the car I used a can of Quick Sealant. AFTER pics soon

You can layer sealant

Also there may be some crumbs in the keyboard, your question mark key seems stuck

The JunkMan often emphasizes the jobs of each of the detailing chemicals used. Sealants protect the paint. That's it. That is its job. Protect the paint. I look at it this way: Polishes: Fixes paint (smoothing out/correcting swirls etc.) Sealants: Puts a coat on the now perfect paint so that future damage won't ensue Glazes: Adds wet-look and some micro filling properties Waxes: Final step of protection and adds gloss to look

Paint correction on Camaro wheels
camaro replied to camaro's question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
Thankfully I was. If you look at the before picture at the 4 or 5 o'clock position you can see a long scratch on the face of the spoke. While the scratch is still there it is no longer fully visible. -

Paint correction on Camaro wheels
camaro replied to camaro's question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
Thanks! I actually used VW touch up paint (reflex silver) bc it was the closest match from the local auto parts store. It actually did a decent job -
- Strip wash with Dawn soapy water - Clean with APC full strength - Clay bar - Severe swirl and haze (4" pad)* - Swirl and haze (4" pad)* - Fine machine polish (4" pad)* - Quick sealant - SVRT for tires *used corded drill BEFORE AFTER There doesn't appear to be much difference because the wheels were not in terrible shape. Nevertheless, this particular wheel was in the worst condition of the four. I put touch-up paint on the curb rash and when it dried followed with Adam's Quick Sealant.
