  1. I haven't used that brand, but I did use the Topsider on my Golf R. https://www.amazon.com/America-5060-Topsider-Multi-Purpose-Removing/dp/B001445IZ8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476404429&sr=8-1&keywords=topsider+extractor After extraction I jacked up the car and pulled the drain plug. I was only able to coax a few ounces of oil out. The main disadvantage of the topsider is that you can't see through it and it has no measurement markings on it. But if you have a top mounted oil filter extraction is a nice, clean way to do an oil change. If you hit up youtube you can find plenty of extraction videos with all the different extractors. Just make sure to find one that can hold all your oil. For example, my Pontiac G8 GT held 8.8 quarts of oil, which would have required a larger extractor.
  2. I would buy an Adam's AIO. But I have a white car, and it's my daily driver--not a show car or garage queen. Even if I corrected my car to 100% perfection it would not stay that way for long. This is my first white car, and it's a much more forgiving color than darker shades I've had in the past(except for paint chips and the super easy to see rusty rail dust/ industrial fallout brown spots). I could get away with an AIO and unless you looked at it under a swirl light 99% of people would have no idea. If I was a professional detailer I would probably feel differently, and would want to achieve 100% correction. But if I was a professional detailer my technique would probably be better than it is now due to the volume of cars I would have corrected, instead of the two per year corrections I do now. And I'd be faster. So I totally get both sides. It would be nice for small areas of correction though, to just have one step and not have to swap out pads and polishes and sealants.
  3. Dan, have you tried emailing orders@adamspolishes.com to see if they can take care of that for you? Their customer service is top notch.
  4. I had the PC and the 4 inch kit for it, but since purchasing the mini I have not used the PC. The mini is so smooth, it blew my mind the first time I used it. It gets in to tighter spots too, since the top of it does not extend out beyond the pad. I used it once and made the decision to purchase the bigfoot 15 because I liked it that much. It's great for getting under mirrors, hitting the pillars, and working around bumpers. I've used it on wheels too.
  5. Crap. Looks like the value of my one of a kind model just dropped. I like to think that somewhere out there in this great big world there are two people that own duetto models that have mini caps on them.
  6. I appreciate the offer Dylan, but it works fine so I see no reason to mess with it. It was only my second or third time using it, and I honestly hadn't noticed it before. The fitment is fine--it's not loose, and there are no gaps or anything. It's one of a kind this way. My first use of my bigfoot 15(mark 1) went well. It's nice to finish a detail and not still feel your hands vibrating afterwards. That is one well balanced machine. The detail is more enjoyable when you're not fighting the polisher. It went fast too, although there's less car to detail on the Golf R compared to the G8 GT.
  7. Cleaned up the van yesterday. Washed, clay-mitted(sorry it's big and time was short), glazed, and topped off with americana. Today I focused on the Golf R. Washed and clayed last night. Polished, glazed, sealed, and then topped with americana for extra shine.
  8. Just realized today my Rupes Mini is some weird sort of frankenstein model. It's a mini according to the box and label and backing plate, but the outer cover says duetto. Works just fine, but I thought it was odd. I'll attach some pics as proof.
  9. This is spot on. I bought the mini last year and used it alongside my flex for the pillars, bumpers, and other small areas. The smoothness blew me away and it's the reason why after using it I bought a LHR 15 ES. For lack of a better term, it sometimes feels like you're fighting with the flex. I'll be breaking out the 15 ES today for the first time to work on my Golf R. It was washed and clayed last night and is waiting for me in the garage right now.
  10. I've always been curious about the logistics issues an Adam's sale creates. Does Team Adam's alert fedex ahead of time when you're running a sale? I imagine they have to send a large truck(or multiple regular size trucks) to pick up that many orders, and not one of the regular size fedex trucks I see running through the neighborhood or at work.
  11. So, next gen(gen 6?) pads are coming out soon? Looks like wavy pads with a center hole in them.
  12. There are adapters you can put on your kitchen sink to hook up a hose, depending on the faucet. Here's an example of one: Amazon Link
  13. I have a wall mounted kobalt vac I got from lowes several years ago. Unfortunately it is now discontinued. If money was no issue I'd go for one of these made in the usa Vacumaid Vacuums. The wall mounted options are nice for me in the garage, plus the long hose means I don't even have to take it off the wall to use it. They are dry only though and can't be used with liquids.
  14. So, I have a non-car-care story to share. My 3 year old daughter celebrated her birthday today by smearing some black nail polish on a flat screen tv in the house. This left me with a 5" x 5" section of LCD destruction. I broke out some q-tips and non-acetone nail polish remover and got to work trying to salvage that area of the screen. It didn't help much. Moved on to some diluted APC. It helped get a little of it off. Moved on to full strength APC. It helped some more, but I soon realized I wouldn't be able to get the nail polish off with just cleaners alone. It had dried too much. There was still polish left on the surface of the screen. After much internal debating I went to the garage to get a razor blade. I couldn't think of another way to remove the polish from the surface of the screen. I kicked around using a clay bar, but was afraid I'd be pushing too hard on the screen. I knew I was going to need something to lubricate the screen; I couldn't just go at it with a dry razor blade. Rinseless wash to the rescue! I lubricated the screen with rinseless, and very carefully went after the nail polish with the razor blade, trying very much to not cut through the screen. It worked! It took several careful passes, but all of the polish came off the screen and instead of a 5" x 5" section of black globbed-on nail polish I was left with just one little scratch(which I think was caused by vigorous q-tipping and not even the razor blade). You can't see it unless you are right up against the tv. I wish I had before and after pics to show, but I was too busy trying not to kill my youngest child on her birthday to take any. Anyway, the moral of the story is that these products have more uses than just making your car look awesome. My TV is salvaged, and my daughter gets to live. If Team Adam's is near southwest Ohio sometime in the future and needs someone to demo nail polish removal with Adam's products just let me know. It's an untapped market.
  15. For those of you that don't like it hanging on your mirrors, I've got mine hanging off the handle above the front passenger door. I've got my radar detectors in each car mounted on the mirror stem anyway, so I couldn't put my air fresheners there. If you don't have that handle up front the rear one would work too. Keeps it out of sight and they are plenty potent enough.
  16. I just used it today for the first time too, with the new pads. Wow. The balance of this tool is amazing. Much better than using 4 inch pads on the PC. When I moved back to the larger panels with the flex it felt like the flex was just pulling me along stronger than usual. Are the 15 and 21 Rupes as balanced as the mini? I could almost see myself giving up the extra pad size and correction speed of the flex if the Rupes 15 is as smooth as I imagine it to be. Oh, by the way, long time user and lurker. First time poster.
