  1. Hi folks.. While I am a loyal user it has been a while since I have been on the forum. I traded my Grand Sport C6 for a Z51 Stingray C7 that has the factory black painted wheels. I know the deep wheel cleaner is supposed to be safe for painted wheels but thought I would double check just to be sure. Am I good to go using the deep wheel cleaner on my factory black painted wheels? (I also have factory painted yellow calipers). I want to make sure before I jump in with both feet. Thanks! Gary
  2. Thanks everyone for the feedback. I am a little concerned with not having any protection for that long but I guess there is no alternative. When the time comes and I can actually work on the orange peel what should I use? Still relatively new to the Adams products.
  3. My Crystal Red Metallic 3 month old corvette developed a very small paint blister near the door handle. The entire door was repainted under warranty. Color match is good but I can see quite a bit of orange peel and it is driving me a little crazy. I do not want to give it back to them as it took almost 3 weeks to get done in the first place and I'm afraid they will make it worse. How long before I can attempt to polish and which product should I use? I initially used the orange pad as it was a brand new car. Is that adequate or will I need the green pad? They left a card in the car saying no polish for 90 days. The manager said 30 days. What is correct?
  4. Thanks everyone! I guess I will add some of the waterless car wash to the arsenal of Adams Products that I have purchased over the last month!
  5. Thanks everyone! It was a lot of work but I think it came out OK. Of course as this is my daily driver it gets rained on every day during our regular Florida afternoon showers!
  6. Saturday Started with the Dawn wash Clay bar VRT all of the black pieces swirl and haze remover machine polish Machine sealent Sunday Glaze Americana finally all of the glass it was a lot of work but it looks pretty good. Hope it last at least 3 months
  7. After a total of 13 hours here are the final results. It was trial and error but by the end i think I had the hang of it.
  8. Thanks this was a great help. I will be using the products for the first time this weekend and I would have screwed that up.
  9. Is this correct? You need to wait 12 hours before adding the glaze? thanks gary
  10. Thanks for the information about XQZIT. Wish I knew that before I placed my last order! I will keep it in mind for the future.
  11. Wow, Thanks for the tips. So to be clear, it should be: The clay bar The swirl remover The machine polish The glaze And finally the Americana? I hope i can get atleast two months out of the Americana. To be honest I used to get about six months out of the Rejex even using the car as a daily driver year round for 105,000 miles. (my last car was a 2005 Vette which was painted Monterey Red). In readding all of the posts and watching the video's I'm excited to try out the Adams products. I have never had good luck with machine polishers but I'm hopeing the Porter Cable will be easy to use. (the videos make it look easy). One last question: what do you guys do to protect the black trim? Do you apply the VRT firsdt and then polish or is the norm to tape it off? If the answer is tape is the blue painters tape from home depot good enough? Once I'm done I will post some pictures. Thanks for the feedback! here is the before when traded in my 2005 on the new GS.
  12. I just bought a new Grand Sport in Crystal Red. Up to this point I have always used either Zaino or Rejex. I have seen the Adams displays at car shows as well as on TV. So I took the plunge and bought a Porter Cable and a whole bunch of Adams materials. My play was to clay bar it, then use the swirl remover and then the polish. After that I was going to use the Americana as I am looking for that deep shine. In looking at the forum it seems there are two groups split down the middle, Machine or Hand. Is there a problem combining the two? In addition, my car is a daily driver in central Florida. How long will the Americana last before I have to reapply? I garage the car at home and cover it at work. This will be my weekend project. Thanks!
