Weird Paint Issue
Fear Ls1 replied to Fear Ls1's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Its really hard to get a good pic even with my rebel t3i. -
I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue i'm having with my cars paint. I've had this issue for awhile, and ill think I've fixed it, but then it comes back. The paint looks like it has terrible water etchings everywhere. So, i polished it out, and the paint would look great, with no scratches, swirls, or water etchings. So of course after I finished polishing it, i waxed it. Then a couple days later I'm looking at the hood(where the water etchings are the worst) and they are all back again, like I never polished them out. During that time it was never in the rain, or even out in the sun for long, since at the moment it sits in the garage. It is 16 year old paint, but the paint looks flawless for its age. I have this same issue with other panels on the car, but they are not near as bad as the hood. I just polished the hood and got all the etchings out and put 2 coats of quick sealant, so we'll see what happens. I just think it is the strangest thing ever. Its like its coming up under the paint, but I can polish it out every time.

If you lived closer to Texas, I'd be very interested in that SS. Glad to see there are still nice 4th gens out there! -
As a fellow 4th Gen F-Body owner, I love that car!

Looking for a pressure washer
Fear Ls1 posted a question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I'm wanting a good at home pressure washer that will be strictly for washing cars. So for you that have one, what would you suggest? Gas or electric? This will be my first pressure washer, so I'd like to spend my money right the first time. -

Is this taking wheel cleaning too far?

Post some pictures of that beast! -
Great choice of wheels. Makes the car look so much better!

Brilliant glaze separation

Mine does the same thing, as well as the metal polishes. They seem to still work after I've shaken them up. -

I've never known about the forum discount either, and I've made about 4 big orders. Is it just automatically applied to your order, or do you have to put a specific code in on that order? -

It's the little things that matter.
Fear Ls1 replied to Fear Ls1's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
Yeah, I was pretty shocked by the results. -
I was off today, and had nothing to do, so I thought I'd mess around with the old polishes before the new ones come out on my neglected sail panels. I used severe swirl and haze remover on the orange applicatior, and then followed that up with fine machine polish on the blue applicator. All I did was one pass with each. The little defect you see in the picture is an egg marking from when the car got egged back in high school. I can't wait for the new polishes, even though the old still produced great results!
