  1. I am planing on using the paint brush style paint, so there should not be much of an over spray issue. I may get some clear coat too. I am not to sure how deep it is, but i will find out next week (we are going to be hitting tripple digits hear soon, and I do not have a garge that can fit the car). I guest worst case, will be that I end up having to take it to a shop for repair.
  2. Well I finally was able to wash the outside of the car, only took 3 hours...lol I am sure I will get a little faster as time goes on. While drying the roof I noticed a rust spot. Since the roof is taller Than I am do not see it often. I want to repair the rust spot to the point where the damaged is removed and protected. The process from what I gather is: 1. Clean and Dry the area 2. tape off area 3. Remove rust via sanding (I pan to use a fiberglass pen) 4. Use some kind of Naval Jelly like product for remaining rust 5. re clean area with a solvent 6. primer (I plan to use Dupli Color) in light layers 7. paint (I plan to use Dupli Color) in light layers 8. after cured polish and protect (revive and quick sealant) The Rust spot is about 1/4" long. I am looking for any suggestions on changes to process and/or product suggestions.
  3. Thank you for the info. I was planning on getting some of the revive for the wheels (after testing them with the metal polish I found out the are clear coated), So that will work out well. Now it is just back to researching the Flex vs PC debate, then I can place the order for protection and polishing products.
  4. A little elbow grease is ok On a 09 suburban, It would take a lot to do it all by hand. It may take some paint correction, but to my advantage (and laziness), I have never cleaned the outside (had it for 9 months) the previus owner mostlilky never had it cleaned, and would not have done it her self. But the dealer that she bought it from did have it detailed (there is a sticker on the windshield). I know that it would not be the same as a machine, but are there any issues/advantages to using the machine products by hand on these areas?
  5. Hello, I have been looking at getting a machine polisher. I know that you should tape the areas that you do not want polish to get on. I am trying to figure out how to handle the "bump outs" on the hood, rounded pillars, indents, and tight areas that the polisher can not get too? I would hate to get a machine polisher kit, just to have to by a hand polisher kit for these areas.
  6. Thanks! I am planning on going to the 2 bucket method (it is new to me, but it does make a lot of sense when I see what it is meant to do). It sounds like I could minimize the strong polish to be able to use the fine polish and sealant a few times a year. I would like to minimize the amount of products I need to keep on the shelf. I did not know if there was an issue using some of the machine products by hand on the non-machinable areas.
  7. Hello, I just received some adams products for my interior. I have been looking into to using them on the exterior too. I had 2 questions: Should I be concerned with how often I use machine polishing (how many times can I do it before it starts to cause a problem with the paint)? Also how to get the hard to reach areas? I know that that the PC and Flex should not be used on small folds indents and raises. Should I use the machine products with a hand pad? I currently have Full sized SUV, and a Mini on the way.
