  1. I thought about the silicone too. I mentioned that to the dealer but they said they could not do it. I really like the moldings for the door dings. I park far away from everyone. But, it always seems that someone thinks that is the start of the parking line and then park next to me. I may go ahead and take off the moldings. Kingsford's truck did look very good without the moldings. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. Vito
  2. Redneck, I thought about removing the trim. But, I thought because it was two years old, there may be a difference in the paint color. The truck is black.
  3. I have a 2012 GMC pickup. The side trim on the right front door, which prevents door dings, fills with water when I wash the truck. It will then drip water for at least 30 minutes after washing, or 15 minutes if I try and blowing air into the molding. It will leave a water stain if I don't keep wiping away the water. I brought my truck to the dealer who initially told me that there was nothing wrong with the molding. I again explained that it was filling with water. They later told me that they spoke with GMC and was told that the moldings were designed that way. I told them that could not be true as the other three moldings were not having this problem. After receiving several other excuses, the problem still exists. Has anyone experienced this problem with the water constantly dripping from the molding? Any ideas on how to stop it?
  4. Adams is the best!! I had purchased a detailing cart that broke after limited use. I wondered if it was still warrantied as it was just over a year old. Not only did Adams warranty the cart, they gave me a certificate worth more than the cart. They are absolutely true to their word. I will forever be a customer. it's hard to find that kind of customer care and service. THANK YOU ADAMS!!!
  5. My friend went to a car wash with his car which had water spot stains from the sprinklers. The car wash used some aluminum brightener on the car. They wiped it on, left it on for about 10 seconds, and washed it off. They wiped it dry and my friend said that it looked perfect. They did the windows with the same results. He said it was very easy. The key is making sure that the car is cool and to wipe it off after about ten seconds. Has anyone ever heard of this method?
  6. Mike L, hi neighbor! Great to know that someone is close by if I have more questions. But, GO GIANTS!
  7. Thanks all. And yes like the CCR song, I am stuck in Lodi!
  8. Just retired after 31 years and now decided to have fun detailing my new p/u and the rest of the family cars. I have learned so much from watching the videos and reading the various forums. Thanks to all who post such great advice and tips. I never realized retirement would be this busy! Vito
