  1. Guess it's just hard to tell how much you've got one there. It's obvious if you have way too much but other then that I couldn't see a difference between treated and untreated trim. I'll try to be a little more stingy with it in the future. Detail spray best way to get it off the paint?
  2. So it wasn't 24 hours after I finished up the explorer and it started pouring. One thing I noticed is the SVRT had run off the trim and left streaks down the paint. I had wiped all the trim with a microfiber after applying. Do I just need to wipe harder in the future?
  3. 82 years old. He didn't even look before changing lanes. Kept saying I was in his blind spot and that he didn't even know he hit me. His front wheel hit my front wheel and his back wheel hit my back wheel. This is just how my life is.
  4. Nevermind. Someone just wrecked it. Left front and rear fender/wheel damage. Steering column out of whack. Was able to drive it home. Pics later. Maybe.
  5. I think it came out fantastic. Next time around I need more microfiber towels and a window cleaning kit. Bought it on Thursday and the dealer hadn't had a chance to molest it so I had a good starting point. Still took forever. 2 bucket wash Clayed (It didn't need it at all but I did the entire thing and windows anyway) Quick Sealant Brilliant Glaze Americana SVRT all the trim Finished it up last night. My wife took all the pictures and they've been resized by facebook. Aside from the poor metering the camera did, they show off the work reasonably well. No before shots. Next weekend the mustang gets the same treatment + machine polish.
  6. I'll get back on it when the rain lets up. It's pouring out right now. The explorer barely fits in the garage. Maybe 6" to spare so I have to open it up to get around it. As for the thick wax, it could just be the poor lighting but the applicator seems to run dry pretty quickly. Goes from thick to not putting anything on the paint in just a few strokes it seems. Maybe it was just the heat? Was doing it in the garage but it was still > 100F in there.
  7. I'm only about a third done putting some americana on an explorer. I had to stop because it was too hot and was a real pain to remove. And I was dying. Was about 104F earlier. Well it's now 78F and about to rain. 91% humidity. Should I go ahead and try to finish the job? In the garage, of course. Thanks. I put this in the wrong forum.
  8. Is there a preferred IPA concentration for this?
  9. I see people mention IPA to remove sealant and wax. Surely they don't mean beer. What's IPA?
  10. afaik permaplate is just a standard sealant. Dealer put it on my mustang without actually prepping the car. What's the best way to get this stuff off the paint so I can clay and polish?
