  1. Haven't posted in quite a while but I just ordered some new stuff including the Interior Detailer. I still have a half gallon of the old TID(green baby powder stuff) that I absolutely still love. What's the difference to the new stuff from some of you veterans? I still want the matte finish and ease of use, is it just a little better SPF protection than the old stuff?
  2. Go through the clear I'm assuming? Risky for sure if you're not used to it but think of it this way; if you didn't detail as a hobby you would have gotten it repainted anyway after the BBQ incident.
  3. It's going to depend a lot on the condition it arrives in and your expectations of how you want the paint. With a black truck I would go out on a limb and say it'll need correcting to some degree, a DWC decon and clay. Then choose the protection and LSP you desire. I'd grab Liquid Paint Sealant and H2O at a minimum and if you're using this order to get your supplies stocked then: All Purpose Cleaner SVRT 2 bucket kit Total Interior Detailer rinse less Detail Spray
  4. I think pretty much everyone lives with it now, it's the standard for new cars. Short of a big money paint job it's the norm I'd say.
  5. Decided to spring clean the motorcycle leathers today. Leather cleaner to start and then go to the cart in the garage and grab an applicator from yesterday with Leather conditioner on it and the orange bottle off the cart. Get done with the jacket and the leather couch I'm sitting on and I'm "man, this doesn't seem to be working well and whys it so chalky?" Look at bottle.......... Paint correcting Polish SIGH....... Reclean and grab the correct orange bottle lol. At least my couch gloves and jacket are swirl free.
  6. Harbor Freight apparently sells a DA that works pretty good with a few mods too. There's only going to be so far you can go without a machine so you might just have to live with it.
  7. Any reason you don't want to correct with a machine?
  8. My water is so hard I'd have better luck with the rain.
  9. Nice turn around for sure. From another 2500 crew cab guy I'd really recommend picking up some PCP. It's so much easier to work with than 105 and when you have to do that much, getting m105 hardened concrete specks off everything is something I definitely don't miss.
  10. Just did mine the other day. I buff off extra with a dry towel.
  11. I found on my Black paint it reverse hazes lol. You smear it around and it's nice and grey so you can see where it was then it flashes off pretty clear very fast like Dylan said. I thought something was wrong with mine but I'm really glad it almost disappears.
  12. Mmm, very nice. Grab some DWC for decon and lets see those new car bleeding shots.
  13. If you got a bottle of pale sea green stuff that smells like baby powder, I'm gonna say somehow you got a bottle of TID instead of Glass Cleaner.
  14. It goes a long way, you'll see. Soo smooth and easy to remove.
  15. Are you at a house with no garage or like and apartment? Would a tent be an option?
  16. Im with Michael here. I put them in a bucket with APC and water and then toss a gallon of something on top to hold them under. Ill squeeze them a couple times to get the APC working then let them sit until I get around to them. I have enough pads and I just detail for myself so I have that luxury.
  17. I know lol. I do that for rinseless but I dont like MF towels for soap washes so I GWDM with wash pads lol.
  18. You could go full OCD like me and use 7 pads for a soap wash lol.
  19. Began stage 1 of post Winter corrections. Tailgate and both bed sides polished and sealed. MF with PCP and white foam for finishing. Pretty good marks on the bed only took 2 passes of PCP.
  20. Agreed, getting a little far field here. Im still wondering what the OPs specific issue is. Does he not like how dwc performs as a generic wheel cleaner for dirt/grime or is he saying that its not dissolving metal. It seems maybe he doesnt have much metal in his pads and sees better performance with a normal wheel cleaner?
  21. I think there might be a disconnect based on the name of it. I only use it if I need to dissolve metalic particles. If im cleaning my normal wheels I just use my wash media or APC for dirt/grime.
