  1. Hey Adam. in my experience you can use the same polish as a two step. you can completely change the performance of a product by changing your technique up. For example I can use cutting polish on a microfiber cutting pad, flex3401, speed 6, slow movement, moderate pressure, and be able to remove all the defects I need to. But for the people that want to two step to really improve the look of their car, or people with softer paints that need to follow up with a second step to remove "compounding haze" I could do the following. I can then switch from a cutting pad to a finishing foam (black/blue/white) pad. Slow the speed down to about 3.5 or 4.0, medium speed of arm movement, light pressure, and long work time. With the same exact polish I can achieve what I expected from a finishing polish just by changing up different variables in the polishing routine. I would remove compounding haze and get the paint to pop a lot better. Doing this eliminated the need for me to have two different polishes, but still allows me to do a two step if I wanted/have to. Which is why I go through compound 10x more then finishing polish. Pretty much I only use finishing polish on my own car, I cant really find a need for it anymore. Still hit my car with some good ol fashion "fine machine polish" that I stocked up on when it got discontinued.
  2. I detail cars as side work. Usually just neighborhood people. Friends. Family etc. My usual routine is wash. Clay. One step polish and then wax. Dress tires trim and plastic. My neighbor wants me to detail his truck next. Its in terrible shape. Its a 96 bronco, red. And probably never been waxed ever. It has peeling paint on the hood and all the pillars. He talked to me and doesnt expect a miracle. He just wants the paint to look a little better. And some protection on it for the winter. So What should I do when i get to the peeling paint/clear coat failure. just go right over it? Skip the panel all together? The hood for example has clear coat failure only at the top where it meets the windshield. If I polished the hood up to where the clear failure starts I feel like it'll look even worse. The doors fenders, quarters, and trunk dont have any failure. s Should i just polish them, and on the peeling paint just clay and wax????
  3. From the first day I opened a bottle of waterless wash I knew the smell. It smelt so familiar. But I just couldn't put my nose on it. Every single time I used it It would piss me off to no end that I couldn't figure out what the smell was. Well I finally figured it out! Its the smell from my favorite candy when I was younger. Waterless wash smells identical to the "white mystery" flavor of air heads. I was at the store today and saw a box of airheads for 1$ so I bought it because I used to love those things. And I opened the white air head and instantly smelt waterless wash! I can now continue to use waterless wash without being annoyed at not knowing what the smell was!
  4. Watch some youtube videos of bikes. they outrun police NO problem. And that's not even on a hayabusa. Before the cop could three point turn you can be doing 200. Get off the next exit. Not that I would ever do that. I hate motorcycles. But in theory.
  5. Ohhhhh, that explains it. I never received any tracking number when I placed my order. I figured it was a little delay because of Jose. Then I came home today and my box-o-goods was sitting on my porch.
  6. Yup, happens every time. Water that sits on the rotors will cause rust in a short amount of time. But the Rust will wear off after hitting the brakes while driving. The only way to really prevent it would to be get in there with the master blaster and dry the rotors off right after they get wet, And don't let them get wet again while you wash the car. Kinda difficult to do that, and a PITA too.
  7. Nope don't do it. Ill probably do it one day this summer, but that'll be the last time. Im really just doing it for the protection, not the shine. When I waterless wash I don't even hit the roof. No one sees it.
  8. I scrubbed mine. APC and the fender brush. In some spots it might be weaker then others, so just go a little softer around there. Mine was also pretty tough to get clean, it was stained from all the salt, took a lot of TLC to get it clean.
  9. Don't forget to clean up the machine with some adams products!
  10. This. Spray wd-40. Let it sit for about 5 minutes. Then scrub with a brush or a ****ty microfiber towel. It will literally fall apart and wipe right off
  11. Find a coin op that has a blow dryer. By me some of them do and some don't. Seems like more places are getting them lately.
  12. Car shampoo in a spray bottle with foaming sprayer. Wont degrade quick sealant. And will clean the wheels. Try it out before you start using APC.
  13. Could of been bleached by the light/sun. Im sure its fine, it just lightned up in color.
  14. prototype compounds!!!! cant freakin wait. Did you use them with microfiber pads or the foam pads? You guys are prototyping microfiber pads too right?
  15. I wish I could help you! I used to work for a company called Chem Dry. A carpet cleaning company. My buddy owned a franchise. He had this stuff called lavendoria (made by chem dry) that would take cum right out! Spray a little bit on the gum, let it sit for a few seconds, then scuff with a semi stiff bursh, and the gum came right off. We used to clean all the couches at a night club, Gum was one of the MANY things we had to clean off those couches:(. Would go through 2 bottles in one day at that place. Anyway, getting back on topic, he went out of business and no longer can get any of those supplies so I cant help you out too much. Try ebay. Upon searching, they no longer make lavandaria. All the products that I knew are gone and replaced by others. (im assuming just ne names) My guess is the chem dry oil and grease remover is the new lavandaria? And the spot remover is the new supercharger.
  16. Your rotors should of been lightly painted before mounting. this prevents rust in the little holes and slots. I don't know what to do to clean them. But if you figure it out I would clean them of all rust then lightly paint them.
  17. The waterless wash towels are by far my favorite towels adams sells! Get them! you wont be disappointed!
  18. I really don't think its anything to do with the product. Take a brand new microfiber towel. Hit your fender with ONE mist of detail spray. wipe it down with the microfiber, then flip the microfiber to a clean side and buff off any residue. If you do that I don't see how it could possibly streak or haze up.
  19. Kk, cool. That's what I figured. So should I just apply a coat everyday for a few days to build it up?
  20. There is no replacement for clay. You wont find anything better then good 'ol fashion clay.
  21. I drive a 2006 Trailblazer SS which I bought in 2012. The previous owner took good car of the car, except for the paint/trim. The paint was beyond terrible, as was the trim. When I got the car I tried applying some SVRT to the trim to freshen it up. It would look great, but if it rained, or some days in the sun, it would get spotty, chalky etc. I then saw the recent video Adam made about cleaning the trim with APC first. So I tried this, but I am getting a never ending amount of grease coming from the trim. No matter how many times I go over the same spot, more and more black grease keeps coming up from the trim. I spent a good 15 minutes on a ~10inch section with APC and a utility towel and it still didn't come clean. The entire microfiber towel was soiled in black grease. So I figured lets just try and dress it with VRT and see how it looks. Well its still chalky looking and spotting. Anyone have any tips on what I should do. Should I take a more aggressive approach. Maybe dawn dish soap? Is the black crap coming out really grease/contamination or is it part of the trim. Again the car is almost 8 years old and has never had the trim dressed once.
  22. My mom cleans snow off her car with an ice scraper/shovel. Literally. Ill take some pics of the destroyed paint tomorrow lol. some people just don't get it.
  23. My guess is to much product or saturated towel. This happened to me, I used a bit less product and a new towel, and it worked fine for me. a little bit goes a long way.
