  1. I remember seeing something before about that brand of pressure washer and the foam cannon setup. I think you need a special attachment sold online. Try pressure washers direct.
  2. Good question! I ended up putting a permanent sealant on the lights. Quick sealant should last a good six months but my dad wanted something with more durability.
  3. The safest way is to do a full wash in my opinion. You mentioned it was covered in pollen anyway. If it was freshly washed and then you get hit with a bird bomb, I'd do a waterless wash. Black shows everything unfortunately.
  4. In my experience, both Adams APC and Shampoo are safe on paint. The key is to not let the APC dry on the paint. Your choice can be based on how dirty your engine bay is.
  5. 70% is a little too high in my opinion. You can get 50% at most dollar stores but if you already have the 70%, you can cut it with some distiller water. I always do an IPA wipe down after polishing. I don't believe it's a requirement. Just insurance that all of your polish residue has been removed.
  6. Blaster side kick, toothpicks, toothbrush, or even a can of compressed air should do the trick.
  7. I forgot to mention that I did not wipe down the car after claying. The residue from the detail spray is polished off so no need for extra work.
  8. After I clayed the entire car I began polishing. After polishing I did a wipe down with isopropanol alcohol and applied the sealant. Hopefully that answers your question
  9. Thanks guys! I'm trying to think of some time saving techniques. I can't think of any besides upgrading to a flex. Eight to nine hours for a detail is nuts but the end result was gratifying.
  10. Saturday was the day to tackle my dad's 2004 BMW 325xi. This car has seen nothing but automatic car washes. The brake dust was a real nightmare. The pictures speak for themselves!! Products Used: - Adam's APC (Diluted 1:1) for tires - Adam's Car Wash Shampoo - Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner - Competitor's Brake Dust Remover - MTM Foam Cannon with Cleanforce 1800 pressure washer - Wheel Woolies & Tire Brush - Adam's Detail Spray - Adam's Clay - Clay Alternative Towel - Fine Machine Polish - Competitor's Heavy Cut Compound - Quick Sealant - Adam's Glass Cleaner & Sealant The Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner was effective for removing the built up grime. These particular wheels are a challenge because there is minimal clearance between the rotor and the wheel. The small wheel woolie barely made it. Once the wheels and tires were cleaned to my liking, the car was pulled into the garage for some polishing. It didn't look so bad in the sun, but under the halogen lights, it was swirl city! The water spots were atrocious. The entire vehicle was clayed with Adam's Clay and a competitor's clay alternative towel. Next, all of the rubber and plastic trim was cleaned with APC and a utility towel. I started polishing the hood which was repainted recently. All it needed was some Fine Machine Polish with a white pad. The rest of the car was a different story. There were water spots and swirls all over the place! I had to resort to a competitor's polish and pad combination which took out 90% of the damage. Hopefully the new Adam's polishes are released soon! By the time I was finished it was 5:30. I started this detail at 9:00 AM . Finally, the vehicle was coated with some Quick Sealant. All of the windows were cleaned with Adam's Glass Cleaner and the windshield was sealed with Adam's Glass Sealant. The vehicle looks nearly brand new. Now on to the pictures!! Before Wheels Wheel Cleaner doing its thang All clean! All Clean! - Some of the stains did not come out. (These wheels were purchased used.) Before foaming Foamed up! Jacked up paint! All fixed!
  11. Thanks for the tip Chase! I never thought to hit them with IPA before the quick sealant. Man I love that quick sealant.
  12. I don't think Adam's markets to the cost conscious consumer. It is a boutique line of products targeted toward the enthusiast, in my opinion. Its more about ease of use and effectiveness of product. For example, you can find a waterless wash concentrate vs. Adam's ready to use product. The Adam's waterless wash is great for those who don't feel like playing around with dilution ratios! You certainly get what you pay for. I have yet to try an Adam's product that I haven't liked. It still drives me nuts when I see people who buy cheap microfiber towels from Walmart and wonder why their paint gets scratched up.
  13. Interesting thread... I used one of the towel versions on some glass the other day on a 2000 Nissan Sentra. The glass was pretty nasty and it passed the baggie test. I have yet to try the towel vs. clay on paint.
  14. Let the fun begin!! I'm still anxiously waiting to try the Deep Wheel Cleaner. Good news is I have an 04 BMW with some nasty brake dust to detail tomorrow. This thing hasn't been washed in six months!
